What is model your Ibanez ???
RUclips sent me here but fun fact: Back in 1997, senior year of high school, I met a guy named Jesse Cardinali. He wore band shirts from bands I had never heard of. We sat next to each other in class and he noticed I was listening to Slayer (Divine Intervention) and asked if I wanted to check out some stuff he liked. He handed me three CD's: Cannibal Corpse (The Bleeding), Death (Symbolic) and Carcass (Necroticism)...... the rest is history.
So much good taste in music in one place man..
Similarly in 1993, 9th grade, kid in my pe class would always wear an beneath the remains long sleeve, I listened to alot black flag, misfits, cro mags, the end of that year I had every thrash/death metal tape you could imagine, got a guitar and a shit ton of tab books and became a recluse for years just play every possible minute
And why were you listening to Slayer during class, hmmm?...hmmm?
Those still hold up to this day. I remember when I was fairly new to metal probely heard mayby Slayer and pantera, then I met a dude at the skatepark and we got in his car and he was blasting dimmu borgir and I was like wtf is this witchcraft haha
Yep... it’s a fact
"10 metal riffs..." proceeds to play lead and solo parts with drum and bass backing tracks... challenge accepted
Black kids approve this comment 💯
You could literally put any riff by Death.... Rip Chuck🙌🤘💀
Rip!
Death is one of my favorite bands and you nailed the Crystal Mountain solos. Hats off to you, my friend.
Whenever Jamie does death metal, it's gonna be a good one
Bolt thrower's entire discography should be here
THIS!
Hmmm ive heard only world eater and it was years ago.....thanks for the tip
Agree, a Warhammer themed death metal band is by definition awesome
Raktim Kashyap Deka There are several Death Metal bands better than Bolt Thrower
@@joshuatyson1907 no there aren't. None of them are as consistently amazing as bolt thrower is. It's consistency that bolt thrower has.
HOW YOU GONNA END HAMMER SMASHED FACE BEFORE THE BEST RIFF IN THE SONG
Good point
I'm actually surprised that you included autopsy. The whole severed survival album is such a sick album! Cheers!
Carcass rules! 🤤
I attempted a solo
@@JamieSlays you are the man! 🤘
I like the fact that you use the classical position to play. Comfort > looks.
Great job on the covers!
Classical position isn't comfortable at all. My back hurts when I do it if do it for a while.
Classical position is more unhealthy than the right leg one. Elevating one leg puts asymmetrical pressure on your spine.
Does it?? I think it’ll be different for everyone and it also depends on how long you do it for. But I’m going to physio at the moment. Ever since I started sitting like this my back and arm are way better
@@JamieSlays if it's better for you, that's great! For the arms it is better for sure. I just had to stop playing that way because it really painfully. Only standing for know with the guitar up to petrucci level xD.
Wow I didn't even know this post had replies until now! I prefer the classical position myself. I think some might not like it because it forces you to set your back straight, whilst on the popular position your back gets more relaxed (but it will lead to bad posture in the future).
The main difference for me, though, is in my fretting hand (left arm). My left arm stays much more relaxed and natural in the classical position.
Went to a carcass show in morocco last month, loved it.
The instant I heard autopsy I liked the video.
Starting with Autopsy is always a great thing. Seeing Vader and Immolation on here too gives you major kudos. Of course ending with Death is perfect. Give us more videos like this!
Death's Lack of Comprehension was the best palm mute alternate picking exercise for me back in high school. Anything cannibal corpse did is sure going to test your wrist endurance. Carcass' Incarnated Solvent Abuse, Along with Heartwork, Really taught me the value of right-hand technique.
Very cool, the Autopsy portion was my favorite.
Also, bonus points for the stuffed Genghar in the corner.
This video deserves a thumbs up just for the Bolt Thrower rift alone!!!!! That being said, excellent stuff!
amott's memorable and distinct guitar work with bill steer and carcass from way back is such a treat to the ears
Hey Jamie, that last riff was so rockin that I had to go get the jam on! Thanks and always much love to you.
Great list! Only change I would have mad is to take immolation off and throw phobophile by cryptopsy on there
First time I heard that Carcass tune I was blown away by how happy it sounded when that riff at 2:40 kicked in.
This dude is beyond epic!! Keep at it man!!!
Yassss i see Bolt Thrower!!!
Killing it every time! Keep it up dude!
Vader fucking Wings man. Love that fucking song. He’ll yeah
Great group of riffs!!!
Great video man your guitar tone sounds great!
Dude you fuckin kill it! Love all of your song pics! Been getting back into playing lately, and this video has inspired me! Cheers! Stay heavy!
Ah such peaceful music it's relaxing great job Jamie
Great work!!!
Great selection of back to basics death metal right here! Nailed it!
Cool video. Personally I can't see a list like that not having something from Altars of Madness, Left Hand Path, or one of the first three Deicide albums but regardless - cool stuff 😁
Jeremy Callahan completely agree!
For real tho. Exactly what I was thinking.
Or early Amorphis
very true, morbid, entombed, and deicide should have been in there, but suff and cann are there sooooo, ok....long hair big plus, gauges...wtf...all in all cool
Autopsy, Vader is the best
Yeeeeeees! ✊
Great playing man
Love that you started this video off with my favourite Autopsy song. Do a top 10 Death riffs my man
Good job man
Sometimes I got to watch the video twice, first time is nothing but headbanging, second time is watching you play these amazing riffs!🤘
randomly stumbled upon this video this morning. I just had a minor epiphany on my picking technique 🤯 because of those sweet angles 🤙 thank you Jamie!! 🔥
So crazy, I haven’t listened to decapitated in 10 years... randomly put “winds of creation” on yesterday and found this video today 🤯
I was legit waiting to hear the main riff to corporal jigsore quandary , then bam !!! Solo ...
Yeah
Great job..
Great riff!!!
Fun video dude!
Whoa,So Great Man! \m/
Perf as usual 👏🏻
Pretty badass I wish I had a player like you to jam with growing up
Epic!
Loved the inclusion of immolation and suffocation. However, for Death I would have picked something more along the lines of leprosy or pull the plug
You nailed that Carcass solo dude. Good job!
Riffs everyone should know
*plays guitar solo*
Ah man, nice job on the Carcass stuff! So many good riffs on Necroticism.
Very nice! Can you make a little video to show how you make your backings track??
Autopsy !! Thanks for sharing and reminding us about some old song who sound way better with today's effects !
Love watching your videos man. Where do you get your backing tracks for all these songs?
I make them myself 😊 I get the drums from guitar pro tabs and input them into logic with a drum programme
I see you saved the best for last. If it wasn’t for Chuck it wouldn’t have been called Death metal.
I'll never question Death's influence but Possessed literally has a demo named Death Metal that came up around the same time Death formed lol
@@vu4803 don't waste your time on these death fanboys.
@@vu4803 And Chuck came out with demos before that under the moniker Mantis.
Maybe you should know that Chuck didn't used the term Death Metal for his later releases! And he also denied meny time to be the godfather of Death Metal!
@@vu4803 that's living proof that Death was not the only band making death metal at that time
The Gengar on the speaker is a nice touch 🤘😎
Definitely a lot of solos in there for a "riff" collection. Either way, great stuff! Good taste!
Is that an ibanez rgaix6fm, and if it's yes did u resprayed it yourself? It looks killer in matte black with white pickups
Sick! You should make an Entombed medley, those psychos really go places
Very good video, technique and style 💪 What string gauge used and what is the model of your ibanez? 🤘
Cool video, what guitar is that? And by the way, what string gauge do you use?
sick!
Sick shirt and sick guitar
What model is that Ibanez? Love it, sick playing pal.
Great Job mane! Autopsy is my favorite death band together with Death, Morbid Angel, Obituary and Atheist!
Crystal Mountain is a beautiful song.
Chuck was a genius. Thank you and r.i.p.
Man ... this guy Rocks with his guitar !
New sub 🤘
Thanks!!
What pickups do you have on that ibby? It looks and sound gorgeous
Great list and covers! I like that you went with some alternative but essential tracks to highlight, instead of the usual “big hit” tunes we associate. Save CC, but come on, everyone should be able to play Hammer Smashed Face.
If I made this top 10 it would have been: 1. Entombed - Left Hand Path 2. Cannibal Corpse - Hammer Smashed Face 3. Death - Zombie Ritual 4. Morbid Angel - Maze Of Torment 5. Deicide - Sacrificial Suicide 6. Carcass - Reek Of Putrefaction 7. At The Gates - Blinded By Fear 8. Macabre - Vampire Of Dusseldorf 9. Napalm Death - Suffer The Children 10. Krisiun - Perpetuation
Awesome video Jamie!! Your best one ..IMO. I would have added incantation onward to Golgotha but i'm glad you had immolation in there . my favorite deathmetal album is dawn of possession. So fuckin evil sounding. 😈💀
Carcass!!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Great video, but you stopped before the BEST riff in Hammer Smashed Face!
Hey dude, good stuff. Someone on Ola's discord told me about you. I'll have to check out a few more videos. See ya in Members chat.
Excelente, saludos desde Colombia, Sur América.
Also the opening riff of Morbid Angel's Maze of Torment is a must for every player...
Vader! Decapitated! Greetings from Poland :)
I think him sablast from zimorog use the same ibanez
Jamie, that's some nice playing. Glad you included a Cannibal Corpse tune :-) I saw them live years ago in Dudley (I still can't believe they played there!). I find it hard to come by tutorials / tabs for their songs. Anyway, keep slayin' bro.
Hal Leonard's "Best of Cannibal Corpse, Guitar Tab Edition" is decent, I bought it on Amazon... Not everything is 100% accurate, as with MOST tabs out there, but I'm having fun with it, and it's a great starting point for CC in my opinion. Also, check out Songster online, there are some good ones there too (and free). But ALWAYS take online tabs (or even published tab books) with a grain or two of salt. Some are just absolutely horrible! Anyway, happy hunting, because I totally agree with you: they are very hard to come by!
Really cool video, great playing skills and musical taste... How about "Blood from Stone" by Benediction?
Abandon all hope!!!!, man one of dying fetus most underrated songs, my favorite from stop at nothing!!!!!
Wow, have really great ones in there! Some I got into watching then got down since they were only specific parts not the whole song or most of it. I get your title for the video. Ending with Canibal and Death nice touch of dfferent playing styles. That room size you are in, it could be a Master Bedroom Closet size. The width is just enough and is a great choice as your recording studio! When recording, I know it will be better with smaller space for quality if using mics not DAW's or any USB Dirrect pugin for the acoustic chambering. Using a set of Studio Speakers on Tri-Pods, is a good idea. I am using a set of older JVC 2.1 Channel Hi Fi Speakers with a 100-watt Solid State Stereo Amplifier. The two speakers share the Bass output power. Hence the 2.1 Channal. It is a nice stereo monitor system for the price I paid in total. The Desk space is small to me with all I have on it. The amp is so powerfull I can not use it at full range. The Amp will blow and will need to reset the Power adapter due to clipping if I do that. I use the speakers for audio to my Gaming PC I put together. Yes, I should play those to get better styling and ideas to create better music. It has from over the years to watch other guitarist play like you upclose in a controlled encoirment and think to myself that does not look that difficult. Then if I try to play it is like man this is difficult, ha. Having Carpletunel does not help either. Oh well, I love to play.
Amazing covers and riffs. For those who think death metal is just noise and distortion, just look at this video to conclude it takes years of practice to get to this level.
Very nice video and the guitar sound is superb!
What do you think of jazz iii picks?
I just discovered this channel, where had you been? Really kce content I am going to watch many videos. Small tip: get some cheap LEDs to make more contrast in your lightning together with a lightning ring instead of room lightning! Keep up the
Good work!
That's the stuff mate.
When you played No Forgiveness Without Bloodshed I nearly came
Yeah now we are in there like swim wear brutha Jamie 🤗 what picks you use brutha Jamie I'm curious??
Loved seeing Crystal Mountain in there. But Winds of Creation over Spheres of Madness? MADNESS!
I was thinking "Dude... Where is the Death at?". It seems you saved it for last. Well done my man.
Anybody have a some good tab for Autopsy? The one on UG doesn't seem to be the same as what's being played here.
What pickups are you rocking in that RGA? I just changed mine to an SD Omega in the bridge and Distortion in the neck.
What kind of picks do you use?
Morbid Angel, Deicide, Nile, Entombed, Obituary ? Dude ...
@@SlayingMantis676 first of all, hellhammer and celtic frost aren't even death metal, you dumb fuck. And second, he can only put so many bands into 10, if you dont like his picks, why dont you stop complaining and make your own list
Nuevo sub c:
What pickups u use at RGIX6fm? Thank you)
Very good no see Monstrosity Morbid Angel and malevolent Creaton
Awesome vid! What model ibanez is that man??
I don’t the exact model but it’s one of the iron label RGA’s
Gad damn the drums on that Vader track whoh!!
I wish you would have played something off Human. Cool vid.
Awesome playing man, but what is that strange pinging sound when you play? BTW, killer tone!
Bass
I'm not sure if you're aware, but the audio appears to be in mono
