One of the most informative videos I've seen, and each topic was spot on! Thanks for the book list.
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Thank you Alex! As usual I learned something from you - this time it is a secondary way to use the Derwent Inktense pencils by adding some color to a piece of paper and distributing it from there. This will help me reduce the load when I go out into nature with my walker. Being old and slow and limited in mobility forces me to think ahead. You have done that for me. 👍🏼
That's a great idea, I hadn't thought of it quite like that but it really is a good way to reduce the load. I might try that myself! Make sure you've drawn out quite a lot of pigment onto the paper, you might need more than you think and it'll last for next time if not used. I was also recently told about this: www.theartgearguide.com/home/caran-dache-palette-aquarelle It looks like a really good product, I'll get one and test it and probably talk about it on here at some point. Good luck with the Inktense journaling 😁
I have just started experimenting with inktense after watching some of yours and other videos and I bought at the same time, a small, 12x17cm canvas board to use as a palette. I put a grid to keep each colour in the same spot. The rough texture of the board captures the pigment of the pencils much more and you can use the same spot on the canvas probably infinitely and waste less pigment. I've then picked up that pigment and mixed it on the tin lid of the pencils if you have them or you could use some parchment paper or palette paper to mix the colour.
I will try out the 'stroke the bird's back' technique next time I'm out
It really does work! Thank John Muir Laws for that one 😁
