“The characters are too overly polite” Okay first of all, did you get to Chapter 17? Main characters are literally yelling at each other and ready to throw hands. Pretty much everyone reaches a breaking point at some point. Secondly, all the main characters are adults, not teenagers as we typically tend to see in these kinds of games, and they don’t fall into the typical anime character archetypes. They seem to be more inspired by western character archetypes, and thus are more subdued. Thirdly, not only are they adults, but they hold esteemed titles such as princes, lords and ladies who are trying to navigate through an uneasy truce before war breaks out again. Of course they have to conduct themselves with decorum. (This is barring voice acting aside, that is a whole separate issue).
