Thank fuck the Stone Roses cancelled, or we would never have had this moment. Jarvis is a genius and this is the song of my generation.

I'm 46, I was 22 when I went to this Glastonbury and this performance is still the greatest I've ever witnessed
    Just a perfect moment

I was there front row. I only went to Glasto for Stone Roses who Pulp filled in for. Great gig by Pulp tho. Best 4 days of my life. Been shit since then.

Jarvis has said this moment was the highlight of his whole career. I can see why, its absolutely iconic. although I really do wish Pulp could be remembered for more of their other songs as well, they were legendary.

20 years later and I can still feel the energy coming through the computer screen. I can't even imagine being in the crowd. The magic in it must have been astounding.

What a decision to crank up the volume of the electric violin - VERY effective!!!

Someone did this legendary song an even bigger favour by ramping up the sound of the violin and the keyboards .................... what an evening and what a song!

It really was a special gig, the way it came about with the Roses pulling out, the weather that weekend which gave the festival a great atmosphere anyway, the energy Pulp injected into that crowd, it was just an incredible moment in British music history and watching the video again 15 years later it feels it was only yesterday

In the 90's, I would go to Our Price record shop every Friday at lunchtime and buy every album that made it to the top ten .....then go home and listen to it every sunday after clubbing! Most records I bought sounded crap on first listen but after a few you were singing away. Pulp's Different class album still means so much now. With Spotify the art of record growing on you has gone. Sad.

+Pauline O'Donnell I would go to the music shops in Leeds in the mid 90s every Monday and whack my student loans on all the CD singles and albums. Great times for music. Only just finished paying them off when I was 37, though.
I saw them at Reading 94 in the afternoon when they first played Common People, in the middle of the set, to some polite claps. The I saw them headline at Glasto 95 where they ended with it with 10s of thousands of people going mental.

Have you ever see the crowd jumping and enjoying the music like this before or after this show on Glastonbury? This days just a couple of persons clapping his hands and... well another time. Cheers!

Greatest live performance I've ever seen (no, I wasn't there). I can't get tired of watching this video. makes me smile every time.
I wish I was at Glastonbury right now but I couldn't get a ticket. And to make it even worse, Radiohead are playing a surprise set there in one hour and thirty minutes. I feel like crying.
