@kyfaydfsoab I'm in the oldest year of the decade we call Generation x. There's great music in every decade (past decades get better the deeper I explore) but with a couple of exceptions the new music I've heard is lacking originality, individuality, substance, and sadly enough, art. "Bittersweet Symphony" has all of that, which gives it life, years to age like a fine wine, and us all a chance to taste, savor, and remember how bittersweet life really is.

Richard Ashcroft is one of the most underrated phenomenal lead singers. Any band would be LUCKY to have him as their front man !~ It's a pity he made no money on this great song,
Kalid Rooble Lol well the real reason is because The Verve obtained permission from the Rolling Stones to use part of the famous strings riff in this song, even though the rolling stones never wrote any part of that, they still and the rights. Rolling Stones waited until the song became successful and then, all of a sudden, decided that 'oh, the song has become very successful, let's sue them and say they used more of our song than they should have', which is bullshit. Ultimately they took it to court and Rolling Stones won, so every penny made on this song goes to them. Cunts.

Very very good guitar player
90's...The last decade when there was a plethora of great groups.
I love this man, and the music is also amazing ❤ go on, richard and the rest of the band are amazing to the verve absolutely awesome still here in Dec 2024, and live the verve and Mr ashcroft xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Long live the legends ❤❤
"… Well, I've never prayed but tonight I'm on my knees, yeah...". One of the most epic lines I know ❣️
''I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah
I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind, I feel free now
But the airways are clean and there's nobody singing to me now"
That is bittersweet. A good song is like a good friend.
I couldn’t agree more. When I hear this one line, I feel like crying.
After listening to this great song I have an urge to walk down the street pushing people out of the way lol
Lamb chop true 👍🏻
Daniel Vitale They should do it in Devon lol Knocking people's icecreams outta their hands lmao
With your clarks shoes and leather jacket
It's just fun to do that just like in games like Assassin's Creed 😂 if you get it...Lol
Only after listening it?
I must have listened to urban hymns literally thousands of times and I still love every lick ,every note and every lyric
Agree 100% ! I finally got a vinyl reissue of Urban hymns , just after christmas.
Richard, you legend!
One of the best bands on this planet respect 🙏
This Version just NEVER gets Old! Completely awesome!
Gets better everytime I hear it
the world will be a much better place when we can return to scenes like this... god what energy! what a performance!
I love everything about this song. It gives me chills. His voice, the drums, violin, guitar are so beautifully coordinated. I hope Richard Ashcroft is feeling better.
ME too. THE BEST FNG SONG EVER
Chill bumps
Im sorry but if you are a Seahawks fan this song is on our blood. Go Hawks!! It isn't British it is our boys! Wagner, Baldwin, Sherman, Thomas, Haushka And of course the great one Marshawn Lynch!! Ok Russell Wilson too. It's Seattle's song.
Its more than the music, which is great! The heart wrenching soul plays out. Cross generations.
My favorite of all time since 1996.
I keep coming back to this song and this performance.
Timeless and brilliant
One of my favorite songs, One of the best live concerts.
Impeccable performance! Ashcroft is brilliant. The whole band are brilliant. Sound mix is great and so is the camera work/editing. Possibly the best live performance ever captured on film.
E vero,fantastic....song Very Very Very Very fuckin demais!!!....
I was there. And when he finished his little speech and that intro kicked in....life made.
Very powerful song , very powerful performance ❤️
Namrin K. Commentได้ดี
one of the best bands ever- Nick McCabe is nothing less than pure genius
The Verve! One of the greatest bands ever!! Timeless song that will be heard generations from now.
outstanding speech before the song.
"Life’s a struggle!
Monday morning may be a struggle for a lot of you, doing a job that you despise, working for a bastard you despise, a slave to money then we die.
God bless Ya!”
Richard Ashcroft (The Verve), 2008
as he faced the sun he cast no shadow
Wrong band
Liam Kyrosis Oasis wrote that song for Richard Ashcroft though
Beautifully spoken.. Sigh... Reminds me of One.. Just One..❤💋
"He walks along the open road of love and life,
surviving if he can."
