I was at this show, was absolutely brilliant. Also on stage during that night was John Deacon, Clapton, Leonard Cohen, Black, Wet Wet Wet, T'Pau, Joe Cocker, Rick Astley, Mark Knopfler and the Bee Gees. Was a heck of a night!

There was that re-recording of “Carpet Crawler” with the classic 5 member version of the band.

Howard Jones on keyboards as well. I’ve always thought that it would’ve been interesting to hear Phil play drums on So. Manú Katche did an amazing job on that album, but I was always interested how Phil would’ve sounded on the album. From what I’ve know (in terms of Peter’s solo stuff), Phil only played on his Melt album in 1980.

The Athens show version *is* fantastic, probably more consistent overall as a performance, but I personally prefer the feel present in this version.
I always thought the version with Paula Cole singing backup live on this song was pretty good

Dont forget that Midge has been British music royalty since writing and producing “Do They Know It’s Christmas”. He became the Musical Director of the Prince’s Trust concerts in the mid-80s and I believe, still is.

Astounding performance. Much has been said of Collins on drums, so I won't retread, but can we talk about how awesome it is to have Brian May on a funk tune? Wish he weren't so low in the mix, those solos he's doing during outro jam sound awesome.

there are many many versions of "Sledgehammer" - for me this is the most powerful, best Gabriel vocal performance of this track - especially the end part - together with the whole band.
This is particularly noteworthy as a live Gabriel recording with no post production overdubs - real live vocals
And no sampled brass or percussion loops,he had all he needed on stage +two drummers
Just wish he hit the high notes... but I guess I'll just have to do it for him at home 😎😁

It's good to reflexively let out a scream at 4AM upon accidentally finding Mick Karn playing Sledgehammer!
At 1:40 you can most definitely see Phil Collins on the drums, which begs the question, is this the last time both Gabriel and Collins performed together? Most reports I've seen pin their final onstage appearance to either the 1982 Genesis/Gabriel reunion show or a one-off at a Gabriel show in 1983, though this clearly disproves that.
And Brian May from Queen on the guitar. Combo of some great people in this right here. Wonder who else may be in it that I can't pinpoint.
