She taught Yngwie a lesson who boasted that his piece was very difficult to play.
Hi, Alex. I especially like your honesty in your reaction videos, which is highly appreciated.
Regarding Tina's facial expression...it can leave anyone fooled. Any experienced teacher will agree with me that every student has his or her way of showing emotions of different types. If you look at Tina's eyes, but even more, if you watch her lips throughout. That is a total giveaway of concentration and focus. Embedded in that is that very hidden emotions she is going through while playing this (or any other) piece. The one thing that allows her to keep that hidden, is her utter skill in the way she is able to handle the instrument. This is what masters in their field do.
Bear in mind the following:
If anyone should have the opportunity to speak to a performer after (especially) a public performance, the very first utterance or response of the performer will immediately reveal the emotions (varying in intensity) he or she has gone through during the act.
As far as the playoff is concerned, Tina's performance here is definitely superior. Besides the fact that she hardly looks at her fingers (at that speed!), her posture including the way she sits, the way she handles the instrument, her fingering, in particular the way she uses her right hand... All of this tells me (and I am very sure of this) that she is able to do this piece at almost double the current pace.
Be that as it may, Malmsteen has written an amazing score, which does complete justice to the kind of piece/genre. That in itself takes a lot of time and effort. Well done to Yngwie. However, Tina out-classes his performance.
Yngwie boasted of being the only one who could play this piece, composed only for the technical difficulty of the arpeggios! TINA S taught her a good lesson by playing it without difficulty! Yngwie refuses to talk to TINA S, he is upset.

But, Tina does show emotion. You can see it in the tilt of her head and the look she gets on certain parts . I think it may look like she has no "soul" when in reality, she is so technically perfect that it just seems that way.
Tina is an ASPERGER AUTIST and doesn't have the same emotions, they are quite indifferent and don't communicate like us. And they are perfectionists, what interests her is the challenge, the success of the work, she is not an artist, the curtain is black behind her.
Did Andre Segovia ever get visually emotional when he played? This is a technical piece, difficult to get emotional over scales.

Another thing is that Yngwie is a fairly emotive player. He tends to get into the performance, and 'ham' it up a bit (if you'll excuse the expression). I think Tina's lack of expression while playing is related to her extremely efficient technique. There are moments in other videos where you can see that she is enjoying what she's playing. I've known players personally who can't keep what they're playing from showing on their faces. It's involuntary. Others go completely expressionless like they've turned off the nerves for their face muscles.
Have to watch that again. ) incredible.

I think that the real difference between the two is that Tina encapsulates the modern teenager in as much as she is over all of The Superficial fake bullshit. One thing about the teenagers and young adults of the last generation is that they don't feel the need to dramatize anyting. Why make all of the crazy stupid faces if you can play without making those crazy stupid faces? What? Because you want to make it look harder? Why not just focus on playing better? That is the new generation. Common sense and practicality have taken over the traditional Showmanship, in this case, of guitar playing. And it's very much reflected in her level of ability. She spent countless hours perfecting all of those different techniques instead of posing with a guitar in front of a mirror. And she's not emotionless, what you're saying on her face is pure concentration. There's nothing fake about her. I think she's amazing. I'm so glad that she's returned to the music scene. And I can't wait to see what she does with it.

Yngvie must look at his guitar nearly all the time but Tina S looks elsewhere most of the time.. Yngvie is struggling a little bit but for Tina that song seems to be amazingly easy.. Tina is really something quite special. Never seen somenone else like her playing electric guitar.

She is overrated overall as a guitarist . Sure she can play with amazing skill ... but that doesn't make a guitarist great ! even though so many think it does . If she was truly as great as a musician , as people say she would be another Beethoven or Bach , and have her own amazing compositions . She got famous from playing other people's hits ! which she had nothing to do with the creation of the songs .
Segovia, Williams, Vidovic all have poker faces when performing. The performance should be on the instrument and not on the face. Besides grimacing is totally fake 90% of the time especially for something you have played a thousand times

Most youtube guitar players are lacking feel and emotion, because they just learn the skill of playing versus the heart and soul,......and sacrifice.

The videos are not in “perfect sync” because she is tuned to standard vs him tuned down a half step. It makes it a headache to listen to both of these simultaneously.

Hey Alex. You need to listen Tina's play separetely because she plays out of sync. Faster but missing some notes and does not wait at particular points when needed. Just going fast and missing notes and emotions with it. They do not match either. To be objective, Tina was too young there to play the piece correctly. Playing good is okay but playing perfect just like the composer did is not easy task to do. She will be great in the future for sure. Evaluate her works and covers objectively to support her rightly. Thanks.

To me the greatest guitar players are the ones who can sit there on one string and wring two hundred years of pain out of three notes, using slow bends to tell a thousand stories. See: John Lee Hooker. That and a good old foot-stomp to keep him company are where it's at.
To me, this is merely mechanical. I guess I'm impressed that they've taken the time to sit there for twelve hours a day for years zipping up and down their scales, but... that's about it. If they introduce arpeggio speed runs in the Olympics, let me know. Otherwise, they utterly fail to inspire passion, tell a story, or even really create a tune of any kind.
Unless the song is called "Wow, That's Fast". Or Flight of the Bumblebee I guess lol.
