Blessed to have been in that very room that very day in The Hague. Still one of the most impressive experiences ever. God bless Uncle George and his gifted musical children! #RIP George DUke #RIP Jef Lee Johnson
Rachelle is what happens when you cross Ella Fitzgerald, Betty Carter, Leontyne Price, Phylis Hyman and an alien species . No one will ever accuse her of “leaving something on the table “.
You got to add some oriental and middle eastern singers to that repertoire because she's accessing scales I've only heard from the other side of the world.
Rachelle said this was her first time sharing the stage with George Duke? if my memory serves me correctly they were here together in Indy at the Murat, I forget what year and I think Johnathan Butler was there as well because all 3 were on the stage and played for each other. I think it was the time when she had braces? any fact checkers?
Not if the engineer knows what he or she is doing. Rachelle also has what most singers lack. Perfect mic control. Everything about her musicianship is amazing. She’s one of the best to ever do it.
9:00 Rachelle followed the band's intro vibe, and when it came time to sing everything fell flat because it was her turn to play her voice and she remained very effaced where we wanted her to be powerful. That is why she is still immature and will not know the success she deserves. Because she will have needed an artistic director, which she was able to find in part at Duke. Very few people want to believe me but Rachelle only uses 25% of her voice, her real voice is in a concert in Monteux I don't remember which one, where she doesn't make her faces, it lasts a few secondes . I wish you to think about this. I am a white Frenchman but I love this girl very much, and I see that she has a vocal organ that she uses only in small quantities. I've been producing my music for 8 years, I've listened to these 3 studio albums about x4000, and the more I listen to them the more I find that the drums interfere with Rachel's music, the guitar too, on half of the songs in a group, Rachelle is embarrassed in her art, she is much more powerful alone on the piano. The harmonics of the piano she plays are partly destroyed by the guitar, drums, bass, on most of the pieces, but some morceaux, it's fine.
Agree. Other than Duke the band is used to having to compensate for mediocre artists and just staying in the grove and in the cut. Also she is a pianist so it makes it difficult just as it might if Al Jareau were singing because they both use their vocals as musical instruments the way they wished instruments could bend and twist. Many musicians are used to some scatting but this is not that.
@@phyllisscott7526 many people enjoy my music. Rachelle is sometimes immature. I won't learn to you how to compose and produce music. Cuz u kid. And I love Rachelle, heard 5000x his studio album. Just fuk u kiddo.
Blessed to have seen these artists perform live, more than once. This was magical! George Duke is truly missed.❤
This is when our artists came close and were not afraid of their audience. I miss our intimate valuable moments ❤❤❤...a

Ms. Ferrell was a back-up singer to Phyllis Hyman.

FOH means Front of House. They haft to be up for the challenge. This engineer did an amazing job.
