I have a ID.3 Pro Match S, 4 weeks old and have done 1000 miles in it as of today. A great car and I love it. I had a Tesla Model 3 before which was also awesome. The only disappointing thing for me is the range. I'm having to top up charge a lot more than my old Tesla. The ID.3 is charging to 287 on 100% with a WLTP claim of 347. Its not overly cold in the UK, around 8c. 80% gives me 219 which is not great either, as actual usable miles are therefore nearer to 200. I'm really hoping the summer months give me more as i was expecting a 100% charge to provide say 300 miles.
I have the same car. I was getting around 350 at 100% at the end of the summer, now it’s more like 300. I drive in ECO always and use ACC where I can, setting to 65 on the motorway. I also never use B mode.
The touch to lock and unlock on my pro s stopped working recently. It seems it is quite sensitive if the door handles are not very clean. Just wiping the muck off of the handles didn’t seem to work but I then used a wet wipe to clean them and now it works again. Weird!
Awesome review. I'm considering a id3 pure imported from Germany. Is the kit on those good or should I look for something else? (Battery size is ok, bigger would be nicer but not a must).
Is the rear hatch as pointy as it looks? (On the edges that wrap around the taillights) My old Golf had a pointy hatch, and it was painful if I bumped my head the wrong way.
You mentioned SWARM data in a previous video. I'm not sure if anything like that is happening in Canada. I have a 2024 ID.4 AWD Pro S. The accuracy of the navigation system is abysmal to the point it's unsafe to use.
Can you elaborate on the navigation problem? I do have the same ID.4 model here in Canada and do not see big problems with the navigation system. Sometimes it suggests some strange routes showing lots of congestion in Vancouver, but that is more or less ok for me. To be honest I haven't done any road trip yet and did not use the charge planing for now. @Chris, you mentioned locking and unlocking the car via the app, do you have any idea if this is different to the North America version? We are still waiting for the new software update here that is supposed to fix some reboot and com connection issues.
@cmdrstevemcmaru7417 I find using adaptive cruise control plus also 'adjust to conditions' to be dangerous. I actually love this option but there are so many speed errors that it is just asking to be rear ended. I.E. I'm traveling at the marked 110kph with cars crusing behind me. With no warning, my car suddenly slows down to an unexplained 100 or even 90. These speed errors are frequent and I have no idea how to report them. If I did report them, would they get fixed in a timely fashion or would I have to wait until the mythical version 5 arrives.
I really wish VW would have brought this to the US. Bring the biggest battery, RWD and kept the MSRP as low as possible and I think you'd have had a hit on your hands, provided they could have built it here and taken advantage of the tax breaks. Sigh. Maybe next time.
Even VW dealerships are complaining that the ID.3 and the UP are not available in North America. People assume that especially in the USA people like big cars and trucks only, but this is definitely not true for big cities in Canada and I assume this is the same in the USA.

8:30 "ACC distance 1-5" I use 2 when dry road, and 3 when wet.

How has the lane assist improved compared to your old ID3? I remember you were turning it off all the time, cause it was too sensitive on narrow roads
Is this the Pro Essential or Match? You may have said somewhere……and that assumes the same models in the UK as over there of course.

if you want to use voice assist you have to learn German! OK got it. I will stick with my Garmin that picks up English no problem.
