High energy costs, high social welfare for workers, high taxes, and lack of unified EU law (each member state has separate legal systems adding to complexity of functioning within the EU) result in expensive manufacturing and distribution. Just my personal feeling, weather changes a lot especially when you drive cross region in China. So it might relevant to driving. But temperature won't be too much different as long as you don't cross the country.
Your car adds to another screen as another source of information. For example when you are driving, you wonder what is the weather in your destination, with build in software to the car, you can ask the car what is the weather in your destination. Furthermore, car companies now is gradually adding features like ordering take out in your car. I give you my example, after a hard working day, I dont want to go to eat outside, I would like to eat at home but no one is at home cooking. On my way home, I can order my favorite take out via the car by build-in take out App. When I arrive home, my food also arrives. Some say why dont you just call, well, things work differently in China, we dont have the conventianal calling system for take out. Or for eaxmple if you have of one of these smart home, that you can control your AC from your car, when you are home, the tempeture is just right and you dont have to run it whole day to save energy. So eventually, cars are not just a tool that only moves you from point A to B, but it also serves as a smart assistant.
You must not forget that these cars would be at least VAT worth more expensive if imported to Europe. In some countries you also need to add additional taxes, not to mention new EU tariffs and import costs. With just VAT and shipping+import costs it would be at least 20k€ + dealer margins. Still too cheap though 😂
We believe that this new software is made by SAIC. VW is cooperating with Xpeng so in 2026 VW could make good software as well, with the help of Xpeng.
Nope doesn't sell well here in that compact segment/class of vehicles. Vw would be lucky even under 30k to move 50k unit's a year. Ala bolt and bolt euv kinda numbers. The entire compact segment across all brands and models available does just 800,000-1,000,000 units In total! Small ice cars to be profitable need 250,000+unit's of volume generally speaking. Small evs likely need even MORE. 😀
It's sad we're at a stage now where the most relevant thing to people is FREAKING SOFTWARE in a car. Who cares, who gives a damn? Cars shouldn't even have screens in them. I'd forbid screens that show anything but basic technical information or sat-nav in cars. In fact I'd make it so that screens can't even be retracted out of the dash when the car isn't stationary or using a sat nav. It's idiocy overloaded. Companies are able to make worse and worse CARS and get away with it by putting in bigger and bigger screens with more flashy software which grabs the clueless people's attention and makes them forget the car they're driving is objectively worse than the one they bought 5 years ago. It's a CAR, not a smartphone or a tablet. What kind of a screen it has inside and what kind of software shouldn't even be in top 100 on the priority list of things that are important in a car. But then again, I don't expect an average person to understand what us car guys and real drivers say to them.

You can try to import vw from China, but vw Europe will block the homologation process anyway...
Good one!
I still like the pre facelift more. The european facelift kind of ruined the clean design of the original ID.3. Btw: the brass rims are cool!
Competition benefit the consumers
I know that sound odd, but I don't think this software would do well in Europe... It's to different from what we are use to!
25k Euro would be still a bargain. You only get a 1.4 Golf with absolutely no features for that price.
Slightly modified 4.x/5.x MIB3 software and hardware. What's the big deal?
but not MIB3, this is ICAS3 for MEB
@@langkejeffy ICAS3 is the hardware, MIB3 the software.
@@langkejeffy is this software built by vw or another chinese company ?

That looks way better. And different from EU specs.

something tells me vw outsourced software to someone else for chinese market. they can't be THAT good. Can they?? You tell me there's hope? 😅
We believe that this new software is made by SAIC. VW is cooperating with Xpeng so in 2026 VW could make good software as well, with the help of Xpeng.
North America needs this
Nope doesn't sell well here in that compact segment/class of vehicles.
Mercedes and BMW also don’t bother selling their small models because mistakes Americans have a caveman mentality of bigger = better
North America loves SUVs and Trucks. This is too small for your average North American
@@Paulruk nah. Just fix the emission regulations and trucks will go extinct
Biden said no.
事实上 这款车在中国只有1万欧元 不过销量还不错
So good to know. Do not buy a VW for years until they actually fix the stuff...
and this is an "updated" software? 😥
why not impose sanctions on VW for selling an Ev so cheap in china. same like EU imposes sanctions on chinese Evs.
China raises car import tax from 15% to 25%
It's sad we're at a stage now where the most relevant thing to people is FREAKING SOFTWARE in a car. But then again, I don't expect an average person to understand what us car guys and real drivers say to them.
hat is the real reason why chinese EVs are do inexpensive?
Is there any VAT, incentives to consumer/manufacturer etc? Have not heard a good explination yet ehy we pay 2-3x the price in Europe 🤔
Extreme competition.
Every bit of potential in cost control is tapped.
@@makesirich-ps6zw Is that enough for VW to be able to sell essentialy the same product for 2-3x less tho? Surely that leads to huge losses 🤔

VW put $700Million into XPENG.
3:32 you call this "responsive"? its less than 30 fps shit. VW cars look OK on paper.. but in reality.. my vocabulary is not rich enough for swear words
Volkswagen isnt appreciating its customers who are paying too much for a low quality car. They are also dishonest abouth problems. I feel sorry for its employees who will loose their jobs thanks to a failing management.
In germany they sell this trash with worse software for more than double the price
Wrong. This is the id3 pure spec, that VW hasn't sold for years. You could buy it in Germany in 2020 for effectively 22000 Euro.
Clearly you’ve never driven a Tesla model 3 or Y.
"Volkswagen being Volkswagen", what does that mean? So far VW is famous for poor engineering and craftmanship, cheap materials and terrible service. Oh, and lying, of course.
Waste of money…legacy auto will die in the coming years…
the interior of this car looks so fcking ugly. Tesl and BYD have large infotainrment while this car has none of that
I was actually admiring your knowledge and videos until I saw this crap about ID3. The platform it is based on is outdated - totally. And it has got NMC batteries, which are dangerous!! VW has huge problems developing not only plafforms, but also the software as you clearly point of. Everything that works on this ID3 they had to buy in China. And VW is actually "giving away" this car in China, losing lot's of money. Which they already does on the European models. Did you get paid by VW for this video? Excuse me, but that is the only reason why you could have made this.
A properly built NMC battery is not dangerous. LiFePO4 is for poor people.
What is this "NMC battery are dangerous" ??? The main advantage of LFP batteries on NMC is...price.
