    Hey legends, I’m sure some of you are familiar with the history of Silk Road already, but honestly the full in-depth story is fascinating. It just keeps getting crazier the more it goes on. 😅
    Anyway, I really hope you enjoy. And if you do, I highly recommend checking out this video afterwards: ruclips.net/video/eDbge9-aqmc/видео.html (it’s the story of the Bitcoin billionaires, and ties in very nicely with the story of Silk Road!)
    Finally, big thanks to Guardio for sponsoring this video. Security is one of those things you often don’t properly think about until it's too late. So do yourself a favour and take advantage of Guardio’s special deal for MagnatesMedia viewers & keep your browser and personal info secure: guard.io/MagnatesMedia
    EDIT: I'm sure you already know this, but if someone replies to your comment with any sort of number / link / contact info etc, it's a scam. There's lots of fake accounts using my logo / name pretending to be me, but it's completely fake.

      lol. That's great. All jokes aside....when it comes to drugs it's kinda on each person to know their own limits and to be careful. You can't possibly regulate everyone from doing what they are going to do. If they don't order drugs on silk road they will order or find them somewhere else if they so choose. The "war on drugs" is the perfect example of this. Drug use and incarceration rates have gone up and up since the government has gone after it more and more. They literally create the problem they claim to want to solve with these policies. It's quite literally crazy to try and stop people from wanting to experience a high of some sort or another. It's embedded in our genetics to do so.

    As a web developer, it takes a different level of incompetency to leak an IP via bad code, its almost so unfathomable that it would probably have to be done intentionally. It’s much more likely the US government illegally tracked the ip using backdoors they created to their own system.

It’s probably best as a RUclipsr to not push theories unless you specifically state that they are just theories. It’s also pretty important to note that this dude wasn’t very smart, he chose to work on the world’s most illegal website in libraries and cafes lol; the only reason I actually do question the “ip leak” is because it is said that he had real and specialized developers verifying his code and helping him improve it, that’s where my doubts lie.

    I've heard this story from several channels by now, but this one is truly most captivating! For one, the host allows himself to treat the person in question as protagonist instead of being slicky about it, and so the viewer can understand the story on more levels, including compassion. In modern days almost all media outlets act as if they're judges instead of journalists, attaching their judgement to everything they say, trying to push one or another agenda. It became really rare when human beings are treated as human beings and facts are given as is, without staining (or outright spoiling) them with the politically "correct" tint. Good job.

    Silk Road 4 is currently active. URL is currently unknown to me due to losing it but I have heard that the Silk Road 3 website has it, or at least it did about a year ago. It has probably been removed from the site/shut down to keep the feds on the trail of something that never stops moving. By the way, Silk Road (at least to my knowledge) never sold weapons, hitman services, or anything else that has a high probability of being used to hurt/kill someone.
    (Part included for legal reasons) I have been on the silk road website. I have not purchased anything on the website. I will never purchase anything on the website. I do not want anything to do with illegal drugs, counterfeit money, hacked Paypal accounts, leaked credit card info, or anything else Silk Road has previously, is currently, or will sell in the future.

    Ngl Ross’s sentencing is very unfair. Although yes his case was bad with the whole drug kingpin thing, there are literally cases of other kingpins getting some lower times and even being released early. Not saying Ross is completely in the right but the judge was a bit extreme in this case

    • @joshhoehn
      @joshhoehn 2 года назад +28

      I don't think it is unfair.. He believed that that he paid for multiple murders for hire and was completely ecstatic when he was told the murders were complete. What you need to ask yourself is do you think his sentence is reasonable if the people he thought he paid to get killed were actually killed.. If you believe that his sentence is justified if people were actually murdered then you believe his sentence is justified because he believe he actually murdered people.

      @joshhoehn 2 года назад +5

      @@muzankibutsuji8919 The other kingpins that you're referring to are ones that took plea agreements to avoid the death penalty or are ones that used corruption to benefit themselves. This case is different because he took it to trial. Every other kingpin that I've heard about who has gone to trial and did not successfully use corruption was found guilty and given life if not death. So you can't compare somebody taking a plea agreement to somebody trying the case to trial. The only reason why they didn't actually pursue charges for the murders for hire was solely because they did not find any bodies but that doesn't mean they didn't happen it just means they don't have Physical evidence i.e. a body. Only one of the murder for hire ire situations was confirmed was confirmed to be a scam the righthe rest of them are just presumed to be because there's no body and the names relating to the accounts don't match any missing persons report (even though even though (most of people use false names and addresses when dealing with international quantities of illegal narcotics). There's an old saying and it goes "it's just a missing person's case until they find the body"
      OK if your neighbor came to you tomorrow and said that they paid for 5 people to be murdered and then showed you to proof in the form of messages and money transfers equaling over $200,000 but it turned out that they were scammed you would not trust that person. You would not want that person to be around you nor would you want that person to be in society because that is somebody who willingly paid to end somebody else's life. Believed that they did so and ordered it to be done over and over again afterward. This is somebody that would have no problem Killing you for no reason at all. This is somebody with very little proof of any wrong doing at all ordered the murders of multiple people.
