I'd say that it is definitely time for Mayday, Jennifer. You don't necessarily have to react to it, but if you haven't heard Cam's version, definitely give it a listen to get a frame of reference.

Listening to Cam’s original version gives you context. Her version is also great, just a little different interpretation and a female lead. Both are beautiful. I hate to compare artists. I like them both. Thanks

This is a great choice. The first song that I heard Chance as lead was "Some Girls Do." One of my favorites.
My two favorite Chance leads are I Can't Outrun You and Cover Me Up where Chance also did the arrangements as well.

I love watching people try to duplicate Tim's notes. Sometimes they open their mouth to sing it and just nothing comes out. Typically followed by "nope, can't do that". 😃😃
Yes lol! Even some of the biggest, burliest “big boys” open their mouths then say “I got nothing”

To hear Chance, you could listen to 'One Man Band,' or, 'I Can't Outrun You,' or, one of my favourites - 'Cover Me Up' - which, if you watch all the way to the end of the video, you'll get a warm and fuzzy surprise. If you wish a 'shock,' then 'Mayday' would be the one to listen to...

These guys do an amazing job of this song! They can do any genre including R&B. Rob's voice has so much feeling & soul in it. Austin adding his higher tones, Chance harmonizing in the back, Tim adding some bass & Adam with his fabulous vocal percussion. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there. All their songs are good whether it is serious, heart warming or funny.
Yes Jennifer, I do believe you're ready for Mayday, I'll look forward to your reaction, also I'd like to suggest (before or after, no rush) that you take a look at HF's cover of Crosby, Stills and Nash's song Helplessly Hoping, it's an all vocal, no percussion masterclass in harmony and showing that simple doesn't always mean boring.

One of the things I appreciate about each member of Home Free is their ability to sing each word clearly understandable. Their pronunciation is unmatched. I've been to their concerts and they are as good as you see here. Yes I think you are ready for Mayday.
My favorite Chance lead is "I Can't Outrun You" which he also directed. He and Tim shine in the haunting "Brothers In Arms".
You can really get an appreciation for Chance by listening to The Hound and The Fox featuring Chance. "Wayfaring Stranger", "Hurt", 'My Mother Told Me" ,"Soon May The Wellerman Come" "Sound of Silence, etc. They sound fantastic together!

It's perhaps because I've now heard several reactions to this and know this song so well - but this is up to now the Jen-Reaction I can appreciate most. Anyway, nice one! Even though I caught it over 2 years after the fact.

I really love your reactions! In this one, Rob sounded like a good southern gospel singer with the growls and power. I enjoy hearing analyses from different aspects. The things you hear and point out from a vocal teacher perspective versus a professional drummer, for instance, really helps someone understand and be able to appreciate the different pieces. The way you explain things is great! One I think you would really appreciate is Brothers In Arms. It's hauntingly beautiful. While there's a lot of harmony bvs, I know there's still a lot you can analyze with the different sounds they utilize. It's a very emotional song in my opinion. Anyway, thank you for such terrific reactions!!

This was a departure for them when it came out. A surprise to many who hadn’t taken them seriously enough. Not any can do justice to B2M!❤️🔥❤️

I think the biggest compliment I can give to Adam Rupp is that I completely forget he ISN'T an actual drum set.
Loved Rob in this song. Someone else called this "gospel Rob". They did an awesome rendition. Lots more for you to react to. Thanks for the analysis as I know very little about singing so it's great to learn how they've done it. The guys really nailed this one and what can you say about Rob?.. PERFECTION
They are musical chameleons. They can do anything. Yes, you can listen to “Mayday” now. Songs, where Chance takes leads, are “Cover me up”. I just love that one. Then there are “Born in the USA”. Not 100% acapella. “I can't outrun you”
But also listen to Tims's solo project with Doo-Wop. His “Will you still love me tomorrow / Stay” it's on his own channel.
He also has a couple of lead parts in their Sea Shanty Medley, which is very well done.
A good one for Chance is Helplessly Hoping. Mayday is a very good choice!

I just wanted to say it's amazing to hear someone who speaks Londonese breaking down the vowels in a part someone is singing in Alabaman, with respect. The vowels are noticeably different to the ones you use yourself. The Mississippi/Alabama/Georgia dialect is kind of like America's version of Liverpudlian - widely disrespected but forms the roots of its own musical tradition.

Love this side of Rob. He really kills it. When they were on the NBC show the Sing Off (they won in 2013) Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men was a judge and he loved them. I think they wanted to do right by him. It’s such a good rendition. If you want to hear more of Chance, try I Can’t Outrun You, Yours, Helplessly Hoping. All great songs. Great reaction Jennifer.😀
