Japan is still like that though... But yeah, I live in latin america, and is the same though, people are rude, kids are brain dead and zombyfied, and everything beautiful is somehow tried to be destroyed. I truly wish God or something really big happens soon, so everything can just reset itself, this cannot continue any longer like this really. My best.

A lot of people now just go out in pajamas or just don’t dress well in public no matter what style they have, and a lot of employees don’t do their jobs now, Lots of rude people everyone is angry i guess in 2023. I love technology but I’d give up everything we now have in technology the internet, smartphones, streaming TV, VR etc to be back in the 1980s though.

Last year something interesting happened at my office job: the internet went out for the last hour of the day. The offices slowly came to life and everyone was just chatting and socialising since we couldn’t do any work. It’s also inappropriate to have your phone out at work so nobody whipped them out.
I really appreciated it and tried to take the experience in, even walking through the corridor looking into each office everyone was just hanging out, smiling and laughing: just for the sake of it. It was an organic, unplanned social occasion and it reminded me of the good old days like this video. The sound of people being with eachother.
Ofcourse the next morning the internet was up and running and it was amazing how stuffy, cold and void of human life the office became again.
Extrapolate that one hour without screens and internet into decades and entire lifetimes and that’s where the magic lies.

I worked at McDonalds in 1984. The ice cream mix came in a big bag with a tube and was easy to put in and take out. Every evening you took the machine apart and sanitized it then the morning shift is supposed to assemble it . And THAT'S where the problem started . Poorly managed crews would put it off during breakfast , get busy and never assemble it or maybe didn't know how. We used to call out sundaes by "male" or "female" , with or without nuts. Pretty sure that wouldn't go over today , ha ha

That's because McDonald's wasn't all over the place like it's Today... Back in the 1970s the Ice Cream makers were always working because it was Real Ice Cream.... Than the 1980s was when McDonald's and Burger King went to War and the Vendors supplying these machines couldn't keep up.. at that time the average radius of a McDonald's was 30 miles... Grand population Radius.... Today the grand population Radius is 3.07 miles.... It was easier to get a Polish sausage in Chicago than a Big Mac in the 1970s. But the expanse of fast food was Soo great... That the Ice Cream makers today is more Artificial... Than Real Ice Cream. If you notice the majority of the employees are young.... The Manager was mostly the only one above 25 years.... Nowadays the Employees are Upto Elderly.... That's a result of sending jobs overseas to take advantage of the cheap Labor.... The American people are mostly Service Sector and the really good paying jobs disappeared overseas. Back then you could work 4 days and pay the Rent... Car... Food.. utilities... And go to the ballgame.... Today you work 48 hours and never get above water.... Lower wages and less benefits.
That's what happened in the last 40 years.... Corporations stripped themselves of the Highly Qualified and Skilled American worker.... To a Highly Qualified and Skilled foreign worker... With No Benefits.... No Union... No Environmental Regulations.... And very Cheap Labor Costs.... Cheap Wages.
      I loved the 1970s and 1980s.

I could get a quarter pounder with cheese value meal in 1994 when I was in my teens (I graduated 1995) for $3.14 and that includes the tax.
The fries definitely are not as fresh or as thick as they used to be. The burgers don't taste as good. The Big Mac has shrunk in size and become mostly bread with super thin beef patties.
With a family of four, you're spending over 40 dollars for ONE fast food meal. It's no wonder that people are struggling when food costs so much and everything else keeps going up, yet salaries have barely nudged, comparatively speaking.

I was at a Micky Ds recently and it was pretty sad. Most people were ordering from the self help menus. They had tons of orders coming in from what must have been from their app and delivery services like Uber Eats. The one guy that was waiting at the register was ignored even though he said excuse me several times and eventually left. They could just not handle the amount of orders. They weren't even slacking off they were all working as fast as they could. Technology can be a blessing but it can also really take away from the human experience. Eventually they really will need robots to work at the fast pace that's being demanded from the workers. People don't want to experience anything anymore they just want convenience.
I really miss these days. I was a kid in the 80s/90s and I remember you'd wait at the register for them to go get your food. Things still hadn't gotten messed up yet. It really does suck that the newer generations really never got the chance to experience life offline. Everyday life was pretty great. We just didn't know it at the time.
