The fact that they have been friends for this long is just wonderful.
Right. After high school me and my friends fell off lol
True. If I think that most people I hung out with and considered very close just 10 years ago are nothing but complete strangers to me nowadays already it's amazing. But real friends in life are few. Very few, at the end of the day. Most are just like movie extras. They come n' go.
Everybody 15 years ago now are strangers. I only know 1 person that I talk to as a real friend. Everybody else is fake af or all about drama it's as if high school days never ended. 🥶

I love how the mom says, “alright boys.” Awe, as if it was 30 years ago
To Eric's mom, they will always be boys!
Exactly
The McDonalds from the 1989 video seemed so warm and inviting. It's a place where you would actually dine, instead of a glorified convenience store.
The workers also seemed happy too. Hard to believe it's the same exact McDonalds.
honestly i'm prob in the minority here but i like McDonald's current look
i feel like the McDonald's when i was a kid growing up (born in 1988) always looked and felt really grimy and cheap. i remember it was the late 2000s when they really started to change the interior of the place and that's when i felt it was more "homey"
Born in '85 Mcdonalds in the 80s was more friendly, when my parents would tall us we were going to mcdonalds, it would be a treat, today it's not a friendly environment, it looks nice, but lacks the importance of good service and good food
You guys missed the 70s that's when it was the best, up until early 80s , the price was stupid cheap, I think it was a quarter for a burger and 35 for cheeseburger. it stayed like that for a while, then mid 80s is when it went up a large jump, and the 2000 it went up double
@shable1436 Of course my dad would say the same thing (1930-2017). To him, a cheeseburger cost a nickel! Change (and inflation) is a part of our existence.
The ones now have cameras everywhere and signs that say you can only eat for 30 minutes. Brutal. And now self serve soda fountains will soon be gone.
That was so sweet of your mom to drive you to McDonald's over 3 decades later.
Wholesome isn't it?? 👍🏿❤️

It is amazing how quickly the years go by.
I was 12 in 1989, about your age, I suppose. Yet, from 1989, it just seems to have gone so quickly. Like you get bogged down in finishing middle school, finishing high school, finishing college, establishing a career, finding a woman to marry, going through the dating, the engagement, the wedding, followed by more working in a monotonous job, along with raising children, that it just goes by without you really much figuring that you are over halfway finished with your life.
I am now 45, but when I was 42 and the doctor said I was getting old, it seemed surreal. I guess the gray beard, baldness, aches and pains and less agility prove it, but it doesn't seem like it should be this soon.
Just looking at your mom then, who was like almost ten years younger than I am now, and seeing that she is now 70, it puts into perspective just how short life really is.
Cherish the time with your mom. Both of my parents have passed and I wish I could spend more time with them.
Me too...I'm feeling old! I'm 47...time flies by after 40! My dad passed 4 years ago....my mom is 73. Miss my youth ! We grew up in a better era too...the 80s and early 90s....re internet world.
I grew up in the 80s and 90s, too. 43 and will be 44 at the end of Feb. So, 44 is nearly here hopefully. Not that I am happy to be getting older, but I hope that I will not be ded in that almost 3 month period of time and--from what I can tell--I rarely, if ever feel sickly(although I am T2 diabetic). And, I did have some decent times there(first b-day party that I remember was there). That being said, I know innocence is bliss, but anyone heard of Mickey D's stories hueman flessh and perishless food?! Though I ate there aplenty in the 1st 7/8 of my life: since I found out who they were, I do not plan on eating there ever again!
@@phildodson6141 My dad passed five years ago, and my mom passed ten years ago. My mom didn't even get to see my children and only saw one of her grandchildren, my brother's son. My dad saw all of his grandchildren, but because I was an older dad, the oldest was four years old when he passed. She remembers him, but my youngest daughter doesn't. She knows him only by pictures.
I do prefer that time. The world is so evil now. I think we are in the end times. The governments have been taken over by principalities of evil.
I much prefer the music, shows, movies, etc. of the 90s to today. Nearly every pop song I get an earful of sounds like crap. The crap the young adults listen to and like sounds awful, void of using instruments. No real talent, just a mass produced pile of dung. It is why I don't listen to it. I have heard of maybe five good pop songs in the past five years, and that is it. Country is deteriorating as a genre, too, though the rot set in at a later time than it did with pop. Rock is hardly even given airtime, and what I do hear is subpar to the stuff of the 80s and 90s.
People used to make fun of groups like Nelson, but honestly, they sound ten times better than anything you hear today. Bon Jovi, Firehouse, etc were all superior to what we have today. Today's music is becoming increasingly garbage.
One genre is good, Christian praise and worship, and along with the good message, the talent is far superior to those in pop.
@@pattrell5257 Yes, I have heard of them using human meat from aborted babies, and from the homeless. I can't confirm it, but since hearing someone connected to them say that, I choose not to eat there any longer. If I get fast food, I will get Wendy's, Culver's, or Chick-Fil-A.
Keep your immune system strong going in through winter. My brother is a diabetic and nearly died from covid last year in December, but that could have been avoided if the corrupt hospital would have treated him properly with antibiotics and steroids when he first went in. They let it go on for like another week till he was at a point of near death. Thankfully, God pulled him through, and we saw a miracle after I sent out a mass call for prayer. Vitamin D and Vitamin C are really important.
I'm prediabetic, so I also need to watch what I eat better than I do. I also had covid, "delta variant", and I was sick for about two months. Had pneumonia, but it wasn't as bad as my brother.
I'm convinced that covid is a "by-0-wepin", intended to be the scare tactic to get the "jabba juice", another "wepin".

I am 45 years old now I was 12 in 89 this IS amazing...thanks for the time warp...I would give my entire world to be able to go back to those days. Metallica and Iron Maiden and all the "BIG HAIR" bands was awesome, even Bon Jovi
Damn right dude! Playing NES with my older brother while Metallica blasted in the background.
They're all still active touring and producing new music! Go to their channels and catch up!
I have many of the same friends i been friends with since 88 when i was 14. Its so wild as we are either already in 50 or pushing 50. We literally grew up together. Its a blessing to have same friends from h s. Some even go back to elementary school!
Omg thanks for the nostalgia! I was 12 in 1989 and this brought back so many memories, the hair, the metal band tshirts, Bill & Ted….LOL 😍
Nothing EVER will compare to this decade! The 1980's... we miss you!!! 🥺
My favorite decade !
Here here.....born in '82
Amen born in '78 and I loved the 80s as a kid.
92 here 😱
I wasn't even born in the 80s (born in 92) but I could easily tell the last two epic decades were the 80s and the 90s. The 2000s is when everything started to take a turn for the worst! An irreversible turn for the worst I must say, thanks to the internet, smart phones and social media!
I lost my mom when I was 25 age 47. You are blessed to still have her! I remember some of these wonderful trips and carried my camera around as well. Great video guys!
I'm so sorry for your loss.
So sorry.
I've been watching NDEs lately and I think souls do survive and we reunite with loved ones. I lost my brother when he was 27, (I was 25), we were best friends...
@@silentbullet2023 We are born to live forever, I saw the word L O V E fly across the sky at the back of my house about 30 years ago, the word was formed by birds flying in formation, my father saw it first and called me to the back of the house, i will never forget it, it's in the bible in Luke 21 i found out about 10 years after this, we are living in the end times for sure.
My god! My deepest condolences! May your mom rest in peace
That was awesome. Watching your first video on here which you recorded in 1989 to then see your more recent video of you both going to the same McDonald's with your Mum 33 years later. It's amazing how much has changed! (Viewer from Aus 🇦🇺).
I loved this soo much! I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to watch some sort of "old times filming" and this was perfect to watch (Part 1 and 2)..and the fact that you're still friends had me smiling throughout the video! I think im going to binge on your other youtube videos now :)
The nostalgia on this video is almost overwhelming....good job!
It made me cry a gallon of tears since my 62 year old mom is currently in the hospital and I haven’t heard from her since Tuesday
9:06 This is so heartbreaking, visit your damn momma more! 🥺😐 I have a horrible nonexistent relationship with my mom (if you can even call her that) so i'd kill to have a mom who actually loved, cared and wanted to see me.. be grateful 🤣
Amen! I was thinking maybe they live in another state or mom was exaggerating a bit. I'm so grateful for my wonderful mother and see her as often as i can. I'm sorry to hear about your mom.
I think they are very greatful, I'm sorry that your not close with your mom, I feel bad for you. Be Excellent.
Yeah, but it will be ok
This is one of the most heartwarming things I’ve watched in a long ass time. Thank you ❤
Very cool how you guys recreated the video from 1989. It gives me ideas for my old home videos from the 80's. Well done!! 👏
My dad worked at a Pizza Hut about 48 years ago and the Pizza Hut is still there we drove past it to confirm couple years ago I’d really love to make a video of him going inside and revisiting it after 50 years…
There is a red-roof Pizza Hut still in operation in Houston that has been there since the 70s.
The one in my town is a Mexican restaurant now. Still looks like a Pizza Hut, but it's painted Orange and green.
@@chargerfan2 In my area, it is also a Mexican restaurant, but the roof is gray, I think.
Do it
You can also tell so easily when it used to be a Pizza Hut
This made me teary eyed a bit. What a sweet mom. A great nostalgic video 'boys'!!! ♥♥
this is so heartwarming, its cool to see your mom taking you back just so you can do a follow up video.
This was a great interview with you guys and mom :) What an awesome nostalgic trip.
What a blessing to be able to still go to McDonald's with your mom. Sadly, I can no longer do it. I wish I had a time machine to go back to the 1970s and have a McDonald's run with my mom one more time. Eating hamburgers in the front seat of her Dodge Dart. No inside seating at the McDonald's we used to go to on the Kirkwood Highway in Northern Delaware. Just to have one more opportunity to thank her for doing the best she could. Great video and it looks like your mom has a great sense of humor. Let's go to Guitar Center next!
Thanks for sharing your experience. I’m sure she’s smiling from all the great memories you gave her too
This was hands down one of the most impressive videos I've seen in awhile. I really like how well you put this together, showing clips from the past to the current day, while re-enacting the former day you went. What is more amazing to me, is the fact that Eric's mother lives in the exact same house and that same McDonald's still exists. Seeing both the current time and the past put side-by-side really brings out the realness of those old days. Can't find the right words to perfectly describe exactly what I feel, but it's nothing but good feelings.
Like, why am I obsessed with this video!?!?!
This was so wholesome. Meaning of life. Talk about life comes a full circle. Bless you guys.
Your mom is so awesome. " I'm still trying to lose that 30lbs" was pure gold!
Man, this video is awesome. The much beloved trip to McDonald's. We gotta be close to the same age, I'm 48. The 80's were a wonderful time. Ninja Turtles, comodore 64's, hair metal and arcades. I loved all of it!
I had an Atari 2600.
This is wonderful-you guys are the best!! Your mom is such a lovely lady! Glad you could revisit and rewalk your steps together just like old times! 👍🏻🥞🍟🍔
The first E&D vid that I found was the original McDonalds visit. Nearly one year to the day later I’m watching the return. Great stuff. Mom is better than ever!
