Great video..i totally agree..i was in the same boat..i recently sold my trek madone SLR gen7..my buddies thought i was insane for selling it.. i went from SL6 tarmacs, to SL7 s-works, cervelo, pinarello dogma, etc..the trek madone SLR was very fast & comfortable but i missed that snappiness, and lively feel from the previous bikes..the trek madone SLR was the fastest of them all w less effort at top end speed but i wanted that instant torque..its like if you compare a supercharged engine to a turbo engine...😅
@@addictcyclist I'm working on buying a fairly new SL8 s-works frame from a friend at a discounted price..I already have the CLXii wheels and saddle..I would only need to buy the drive train and 1piece roval rapide bar...I also feel the slight difference in comfort from the SL7 to the SL8(even though the SL7 looks better in my opinion)...lol..be safe out there & I just subscribed to your channel..
Yep. Still rollin' on my 2013 BH Ultralight with newer DA mechanical. I had a 2021 Spec Tarmac and it felt like a Turd pulling a Chuck Wagon. Lame for the money I paid. THAT is why the bike industry is going to hell right now. Time to come back around to simplicity and I think that'll help some.
What’d you think of the 52/63 wheelset though? I’ve got an Ostro v1 with the black inc 45s on it. Love the bike and look of it and rather than spring for the v2, I figured I’d upgrade the wheels for fun. In most tests the 52/63s keep up or are better than most wheels - even NSWs, Enves etc and are at least $1,500 less up here in Canada. Curious to see if you have feedback on the idea of putting those wheels on the Ostro. Especially since you have the 60s on the Ostro.
@@addictcyclist ohhh yours had the zipp hubs right? That’s helpful feedback either way though. Thank you! I’m looking at 350s atm… not sure I can justify the extra $800 for the 180s. They don’t spec them either 240s anymore for some reason. At least in Canada. What do you think of the CLXs vs 52/63s? Have you come across anyone on the new black inc 48/58s? I’m a bit all of over the place with what to do. It’s either $2,500 or $3,500-$4,000 at this point it seems.
Another great video! I'm eyeing an Ostro (the previous version but not the latest version). I've never had an aero bike and currently ride 2021 TCR Advanced Pro. Any comments about vibration harshness and compliance? I wouldn't want it to be uncomfortable just for extreme stiffness. I'm a small, lightweight and very average rider, looking to get faster though 😎 cheers! Keep up the vids
nice way of saying that it rode like a dog. :D i rode the s5 as well and it is not my cup of tea either. happy with the sl8 now and im glad i picked it over the s5.
Did you get a good deal on the Factor? I'm looking at the Ostro atm and I'm seeing $12k for full DA and aero cockpit. Is that about right? Is the price more negotiable at the dealer.
@@addictcyclist Deciding between Factor and Canyon which is 3k less. I just feel like Factor is more of a premium feel to it, plus you can choose bar stem length compared to the Canyon.

Why I just got a sl8 😎

Bro ...i ride a 2017 Cervelo R3 rim brake and love it man...lol...still of the mindset that these newer bikes are not worth the hefty price tags ...
Some of these rigs are really designed for pros
“Worth” is subjective

52/63 were great wheels but heavy. Can feel them doing their thing but were slow to spin up. If you build with 180 hubs, maybe I would consider

Hey! Great riding with you last week! Can you remind me which magnet you put into your wax to take out the small metal pieces that stay in the wax?
Good seeing you! Are you on IG? Message me.

Interesting video - but 3 times longer than it needs to be. Edit.😎
I like to talk in circles lol and terrible editing and I do agree with you 😂

Haha no dog but def no lightweight

I got my factor back in 2021. Pricing was better haha but that’s the going rate now. Better deal vs S works at 14-16k

Hi, regarding your Ostro, I see your riding the Continental. Any tire recommendations for the Ostro? I have the same set up as you.
Continental gp5 28mm and Revoloop ultra race TPU
@@addictcyclist What's the advantage of the Revoloop?
22g and roll near as fast as tubeless
I see that it’s hard to find the revoloop. Any other alternative you recommend?

Selle Italia slr boost kit Carbonio

Cervelo S5 is a Speed Machine one of the fastest Road Bikes on the Market.
Man I Wish you Kept The S5 🤙🤙
No debate there! But it’s about the application and type of riding and the rider
Ridden the S5, new VAM and SL8 - SL8 > VAM > S5
it is what it is.
Black inc wheels are a giant meh as well.
sorrynotsorry.
... because you finally realized that it's an ugly bike?!
Beauty is in eye of beholder. And yes it’s not the prettiest 😂
Have you tried the sl8?
Only sprinted on one in a parking lot. I’ll take ostro 😂
