- Pacific Crest Trail - section J - days 3-5. Moving on from Spectacle Lake to a tiny glacial lake with otters near Deception Pass. We crossed the cascading stream in the late afternoon when it was raging. There was an uncharacteristic heat wave during these 3 days which made the climbs harder.
Oh my goodness!! The rushing stream😮😮😮. It probably would have claimed me as it’s victim, lol. Such beauty surrounding you at all times. Your hubby is a champ! ❤
I was so proud of him. I am looking forward to planning another backpacking trip out there in the future. It was truly beautiful!
Thanks for adding the sub titles. It helps with identifying what we are seeing. This looks very rugged and difficult but you guys seem to take your time and are in no hurry. There is no time limit if you are having fun.
That’s what I love about hiking. I can go as fast or as slow as I choose based on the terrain, how tired I feel, and how often I want to stop to admire the scenery. I’m never really in a hurry (ok, sometimes an approaching storm can speed me up 🏃♀️⛈️🤣)
I watched on my TV so couldn’t comment there and now forget all the things I was going to say! Dagnabbit! Anyway, my heart was pounding during the water crossings- as you know how much I love water (not!) 😅 I’m in awe of how beautiful it looks out West!
It is really beautiful. Worth every tough climb and sketchy switchback on the edge. Lol.
I am so enjoying following along on your journey. I was watching the weather and knew it was hot in the mountains. In the midst of so much beauty, you capture the downsides so perfectly in your video. Exhausting elevations, relentless heat, sun, annoying horseflies and raging streams from mountain runoff. Even though I’m just a day hiker, I loved hiking in the North Cascades. I can’t wait to see your next video ❤️
Pretty much everything in life is going to have its amazing and its difficulties. I try to focus on the spectacular aspects and keep a positive mindset, but I like to present a realistic picture as well. I would definitely love to come back again and hike more sections in the north Cascades in the future!
Loved the footage Scrambles. Captured the beauty and fun really well again. Loved the musical notes you put with John’s 1st slip in the water Lol!!

Thanks Stan. It’s easy to capture the beauty when every turn reveals more amazing landscapes than the last.
Sure looks like fun even the water crossing.
A nerve wracking type of fun. Lol
Which tent are y’all using? Again….such gorgeous scenery. Those snow views….amazing!
For this trip I picked up the ZPacks triplex. My husband wanted more room than my duplex (which we used on his 2 practice overnight trips). Stan had his duplex. I’m happy with the ZPacks tents.
@@rambleswithscrambles4216 thanks! We just bought the Durston 2 person tent….am a little nervous about sharing that on our upcoming section. Hoping it will be cool enough at night that we don’t regret bringing that one! 😄
Enjoying watching you. However, the high temps is difficult I’m sure. This is Stan’s mom, by the way. So I feel as if I know you even if I don’t. Lol
I recognize your name. We were so glad to have Stan along and hope to plan more adventures with him in the future.
