I have just spent a week in hospital, I selected a cheap watch for 20 pounds (Poedegar) which has a lum on the hands which lasts for hours. it was useful at night. I really regretted that Pagani was not able to be at the same level. I own 3 Pagani, (1784, 1676, 1671).
They do fantastic quartz chronographs. I have to wonder if their margins are so tight, they just can’t improve the lume. I used to say, I would pay more for better lume, bracelet, etc., but maybe they don’t want to. They’ve carve a nice niche for themselves. Although the day I can explain how Chinese watch brands are run, I’m then immediately going to come up with a cure for cancer… thanks for the great review!

I agree with the 3 bad points you mention, but to me they are the other way around - l et me explain. The lume on a non dive watch is something that would be nice to have, but not a deal breaker for me. The crystal I agree with more AR would be better, but it is sapphire and suits the watch really well. My biggest gripe is the date window. If you cant colour match it Pagani, then dont have a date window, in fact, Id prefer the watch without a date so the dial is more balanced. As always, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Really nice piece 👨🏻🦲👍🏻 Lume is literally the least important element to a watch and is more expensive than you realise. I much prefer the manufacturer concentrating on more important areas of the build than lume.
Yes, it's not the most important aspect. But as I said in the video, if the likes of Steeldive etc can do both build quality and lume for the same kind of money, then there's no reason why Pagani Design can't.
You’ve got me going now. There’s a distinct chance that tomorrow my watch box will be on the patio for five minutes before rushing to the top of the stairs and timing the fade.
Also I see these as a try before you buy the real thing and I will probably buy a longines now because even if it wears the same as this with proper lume and mechanical movement it could be my " one" watch.

Another great review. The lume doesn’t bother me but I’m disappointed that it’s a 38mm diameter. Seems to be the trend at the moment toward 38-39. Hopefully we get back to the 40/20 again soon
Some small negatives about this watch but they add up. Overall the crystal seems too reflective. I'm not a fan of the date window either. They should have done away with it altogether. You don't buy a Pagani watch for the lume.

Yeah at this point I've given up on decent lum on ANY Pagani's. I like them and own a few but their lum is always crap. It is ALWAYS a negative ... but that in mind either you like the watch for what you get for the price, regardless of the failings, or you don't. It is a factor in making my decision.

Here's my review. Dial amazing, lume, as always with pagani, is garbage. The vk movement is just waste of time much rather have a conventional quartz with 20th second instead of the useless 24 hr sundial. Super dual and the mist conformable watch I've owned at any price. That it.

Honestly, lume is overrated. I've never been in a situation in which I wish I had "more lume".

Cheers, I'm glad you liked it. I personally don't mind 38mm and 39mm watches myself. I certainly much prefer them to ones above 40mm anyway.
I've never depended on lume, and if I wanted good lume , maybe I'll get a Seiko diver. I've also never used tachymeter bezels on a chronograph, so 😂
