Pagani Design are an enigma...one minute they really knock it out of the park then the next they seem to forget everything they have learned!
Recently I picked up one of the best watches they have produced and gave it a great review...and rightly so.
So with this new Pagani design PD-1780 which way will the wind blow?

Very interesting. The dial is the star of the show here, the case finishing not so much as you rightly pointed out. The design is loosely based on the Patek Calatrava 6007 I'd say. Pagani also do a three hander homaging that watch.

That value is bonkers! And as more or less a “Date Only” guy, this is a very cool way to show that date. Although as with most PD, I would pay double for better finishing. Still a hell of a watch. Thanks for the great review as always.

PD make such good watches just let down by lume, I can’t think of one I didn’t enjoy in the daylight…
Finally a mecaquartz I can get behind, I cannot abide a 1 hz beat even in a seconds register, this completely avoids that. However, it's yet another PD where if they would spend another $10, charge another $15, and everyone goes home happy. Plus change the logo, use a stylized, applied PD.
It is amazing that they can produce watches for these sort of prices
It's a weird one. I just wish PD would be more consistent with their Lume. They just proved they can do it and then this comes out. Great price. Good watch.. but would have been better with good Lume :/
Wow, check out that dial! For the price this is a complete no brainer, and was that a milled buckle on the strap? I've not seen that on anything sub £300 ever.

Great review 👍 I had been aware of this movement, but Pagani are the first ones to use it to my knowledge. The trouble setting the day isn't really a problem with quartz, because it only needs to be done once. I rather like the watch and strap, but just wish it was a little smaller.

It's very nice. Thank you for the review. I wish they had made the dial a little smaller. Also, i wonder why don't they make watches using the "VH64" movement? It's also a very nice movement that shows both date and day plus the sweeping second ofcourse.

I love this, but instead of the 24hr subdial they should have had a chronograph 60 min timer subdial. The chronograph makes no sense if you can only time the seconds!!
I completely agree. I hate "chronos" that only time seconds up to an hour. I can do that with a dive bezel. Give me tenths, or hundredths, of a second or up to 12 hours.

It’s ok John but the chrono market is absolutely jam packed at the moment some better than others I know it’s cheap but when you only have one wrist you gotta draw the line somewhere! Unless you going to do a mark and where one on each wrist Lol

Not with you? It's in keeping with the rest of the indices. It's just on its side but it is correctly proportioned.
Maybe it's my old eyes, but it looks seriously narrow and out of proportion in comparison to all the other single numbers
