For your rear under car ducting Benny, fab up a removable metal gauze/screen in a frame that can be removed and cleaned easily after a track day. I did a boot mounted setup in a bmw in a similar way and after every drift day we pretty much had to pull the radiator out of the back, straighten all the fins that bent from rock and stone impacts and then pick all the rubber out of the fins. The tires used to throw all sorts of shit up the ducting. That or do some baffles so there isn’t a direct path to the radiator. When you do the vanes underneath, make some sideways ones to ‘scoop’ the air when the backs sliding out. We got a big improvement in temps when we did that. 👍
Benny I just saw the interview you did now on RUclips on 9 news. I’ve been a subscriber of your channel for awhile now and absolutely dig the videos you put out, you are so humble and a pleasure to watch, and I have gained so much more respect for you after watching the 9 news interview. I am blown away by your generosity. You are a true gentleman and this world needs more people like you sir. I hope I get to meet you one day and get to have a chat with you.
Don't normally watch the Murdoch channels, but I made an exception to look that up. Freaking great little interview, and totes good of them to give a shout-out to the channel, too.
The bits holding the tank in. Put some crumple zones in them. Put some heat to one side and put a crease in it with a chisel or something then do it to the other side about ten centimetres away on both bars. The reason is so that a hit in the rear buckles the bars where it will do no harm and not spear into the tank or something just as bad.
You could also drill big holes on all the 4 corners of the box section at one spot, if you do it at multiple spots along the box it can crumble over its full length. I think holes look a little neater.
Benny, when unrolling tube like that or even copper, stand it up vertically on the ground, put you foot on the tube and unroll it on the ground. Just move along the tube arms length at a time placing your foot close to the coil and unroll. You will get it much straighter and it will be easier to work with and look better.
In my limited experience unwinding a coil of soft copper pipe I found it best to unroll it onto a surface (roll vertical) so you can push down against flat surface while unrolling, that gave me the straightest pipe.
While you’re at the hardware store get some aluminium flashing. You can shape easily into heat shields and a protective cover over the coolant lines to prevent steam and hot fluids from spraying on the driver or passenger or both.
LOVED everything about this! Keep up the genuine commentary, makes it so much more enjoyable how genuine you are, especially showing all the bullshit you have to encounter during a build. Have a nice day mate
I don’t know if you guys have them in AU, but in the USA we have thickster gloves, they are super thick and puncture resistant, I can use them for multiple days, and I have big hands that get cut all the time

2:00 Keep in mind this is supplementary cooling... More of an "in case" than a "must" and I think it's mainly to help when the car is sideways not getting much air flow through the front grille/radiator. The front rad will still be using the primary circuit with factory section hoses. This would be overkill in most scenarios but drifting has specific conditions and he said the VH produces a lot of heat, so in this case it's peace of mind.
Really love this channel and been long time subscriber, often watch episodes on mute as the sarcasm is a touch too much for me, nevertheless awesome channel and awesome content.. cheers!

I am really enjoying this build! For some weird reason i love to see drift cars getting built hahahaha such ingenious shit happens!! Because. Kind of race car!! So, im no mechanic or machinist of any nature but I had a question about the new front rad support. Why do you not rebox the old frame and just put the bar in?
