I mean, you can make cool costumes for your character that based on Goku, John Wick, and more for free. In mk1, you have to buy with real money to make your character look cool and they barely have any game modes/contents besides invasion mode. Tekken 8 is definitely a real complete fighting game.

(I say almost because it doesn't have The Devil Within music like Jin's Theme remixed)

Why make this video when you clearly have bias against Tekken and obvious favoritism for MK1. Truthfully I'm a street fighter fan overall but tekken 8 is better than sf6 and both are leaps and bounds better than MK1.
Tekken, it feels way more complete, good customization, awesome gameplay, stellar music, great roster, and a satisfying story for Jin and Kazuya. I enjoyed MK1's story, at first, I did not like the Multiverse stuff at all.

There was no off the roster ending character to fight like I was expecting, and they could have easily done it, to tease the next big bad.. The mash up characters with no real Mashup to them besides the names, The pyramid that was supposed to mean something, is just a weird and goofy element now, how The General is such a big badass and yet gets his ass kicked in the story by almost everyone. There are many complaints about that godawful story they came up with.. and it's sad because it started off so well and had great potential

@@via_negativa6183 MK games have been changing their gameplay with each new game. Making you relearn everything because the previous games don't apply. Tekken, Street Fight, KoF, Guilty Gear and a lot of other fighters have their core fighting fundamentals baked into the game. You're last game can be Tekken 3 and you can still pick up Tekken 8 and get back those muscle memories.
I took that as an overexaggeration for the sake of trying to make a point. Which is silly, as MK has had so many horrible designs over the years, and even if you look at MK1, even here all the designs aren't winners. Which is less reason to "want to learn everybody". That's ignoring the fact the series was built off palette swapped Ninjas who looked like humans lol. The most popular characters in MK are also humans. Tekken 8, bro. If you're a true fan of the franchise and play it since tk3 or tag, (mind you, tekken has been like that ever since it's first release.) that's how it all ways rolled. We can argue that they did try to balance every character story in-between arcade story and the Mishima story, but they have done the arcade story goofie, badass, and most importantly, fun. That's my two cents on the matter, for someone who grown up playing fighting ever since the ps1 and on the arcade seens.
I said it’s far better better than Tekken 8’s story (which is just the Jin show). It nailed the final sequence better than MK1, but MK1’s first (and especially second) act is better than the entirety of the Tekken story until the final fight(s).
Same as everyone else, theres nothing to do except fight people online which is not even fun unless ur really good…. Spent hours in the MK11 Krypt, and this shrine is the laziest excuse and just downright disrespectful
@@INFRAREDiZNYC it's funny I got Motion Sickness moving around in the Krypt under ground so I don't miss that a whole lot but it was cool. I would spend allot of time customizing all the characters though. There was so many options. I played MK11 for a solid 2 years every day until I just got burnt out on it. I had high hopes for MK1 but have been fairly disappointed in it. That's a real bummer.
I haven't touched the game since I finished the campaign. I've been wanting to go back and learn some other characters but there's no drive. SF6 is just way more fun, Guilty Gear seems to be going in a more hype direction.... Then Tekken 8 dropped... And if there's any chance Budokai Tenkaichi 4 drop this year?! It's a wrap for MK over here. The only thing that can save it for me now is fixing the servers and dropping a MK dlc character that I'd actually be interested in. Cut all this injustice/superhero shit and give me MK, or just go on to Injustice 3 and go back to the drawing board with MK

No one... NO ONE, in their right mind would consider MK1 a better game than Tekken 8. And this is considering all aspects. Presentation, Performance, Netcode.
1) Each character in T8 is way more interesting than most of MK character in terms of gameplay. There is no fixed type of character in T8- everyone can play both neutral, pressure, defensive, setups etc. Each character has potential to any gameplan you want. My main, Xiaoyu, is a setup character. But she has a great movement, block punish, evasive kicks and stances (+some fast counterhit lauchers) to play defensive game. She also has good pokes, heavy kick with huge + frames on block and mixups to pressure the opponent (especially using her stances). And there are some amazing whiff punishers for a full combo. Almost any character has any tools ya need in every situation. 2) It's true that you have 100 moves for each character. But there are 10-20 key moves and the rest of them are situational. It mostly depends on the character ya've chosen. If it's Xiaoyu, Steve or Lei Wulong (wait his return in dlc) who relies on their stances, you'll need to use many moves. But if you'll play Kazuya or Claudio, you will mostly use 10-15 kicks. 3) Every fighting game makes you learn framedata to not lose every match you play online against any average player. 4) Arcade story was created as a tutorial for the beginners. If you are not new for a Tekken gamy, you don't really need it. 5) Characters ending are not canon but I'm okay that characters here are just a joke. My main gets a huge chunk of story first time ever. I'm completely okay if she have a romantic meeting with Jin in her ending. 6) Perhaps I may enjoy MK1 if the damn NRS stops blocking their game in my country. I can't even activate it in Steam without switching my account to another country and using VPN (and play with 200 png permanently)

Im a tekken newbie, I couldn't progress the story because I sucked so much. I beat arcade quest and learned sooo much about how to play and my character (I think that's the point of this mode, for the newbies). It's so complicated but so satisfying when I see myself improve, learn a new mechanic, or finally get a combo down. The game is also insanely content rich. I'm honestly so glad that I gave tekken a shot, I am now a fan.
Tekken is the better game in terms of gameplay. Now when it comes to stylistics and all that then it's up for debate but strictly speaking gameplay Tekken is the superior fighting series
This was an overwhelmingly biased review on which one was better. This failed to go over the Mortal Kombat 1 defects in comparison to Tekken 8. The resulting effect strongly seems like TrueUnderDogGaming is coping with Mortal Kombat 1 becoming a transcendent disappointment. The title of this video does not reflect the content that has been given. This aligns more with a rant rather than a thorough review on which game was better. Even worst, this seems like a "quick grab" / "quick ploy" to obtain views. This is not good content. It is not even fair. It is poor.
Losing is part of your journey. Thats how you learn and get stronger in Tekken and in life in general. If you would win everytime, the game would get boring real fast. As a Jun main i finally got to the red ranks. Keep grinding brothers 😊👊

The story is not even good, all over the place, first they show baraka,reptile and Ashrah as if they’re trying to explain their sad story or something like that then they disappear after half of the chapters, the mk “tournament” was a complete joke, 3 fights and not even in a real arena

To be fair, a lot of endings in the first few Tekken games weren't joke endings. And his original point was just there has been no progression in a few games. Which is true for characters like Law, Asuka, Bryan, etc. I mean, Asuka's dad was almost killed by Feng or some shit and her main goal was to find Feng and fight him. That storyline just disappeared. Law's restaurant, dojo, and family haven't been mentioned in like 3 or 4 games. Etc
Tekken is a hard game to learn. But that doesn't mean you cant just lern a bunch of easy to abuse mechanics that let you win vs other beginners online. Hell some characters can do decently well from simple random button mashing if they have mid/low mix-ups. From personal experience its easier for casuals to press random buttons to do cool shit in Tekken than it is in 2d fighters.
I was super excited for MK1, got bored of it very quickly, online isn’t much fun, story is ok and invasions is an absolute painful grind. Tekken 8, I’ve never had so much fun playing online

I don't intend to come off mean because everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but this really felt like a "Tekken 8 Review" video made by an undercover diehard MK fan who's trying really hard to convince you they are a lifelong Tekken fan. The claim that Tekken is your favorite fighting game series seems SEVERELY disingenuous when you follow it up by HARPING on things that have existed and been a staple in the franchise since the 90s. This video contains barely any comparisons besides how you feel about the stories, and overall, very few positive comments about T8 as a whole. You then ask why the internet continues to throw these games against each other as you title the video "Mortal Kombat 1 vs Tekken 8 - Which is Better?" lol. Id like to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe that you didn't mean for this to happen, but this video came off as a COMPLETELY partial and biased hit piece on a game that's SIGNIFICANTLY more feature rich than basically any fighting game we've ever seen in gaming history.

Main difference is just Frame inputs which are staple of Tekken,Lee has seven just Frame moves and three of them are bread and butter in every Lee combo or counter hit.I Play Lee for 18 years and I still didn’t master him completly!!
MK1 does not compare to Street Fighter 6 and it certainly does not compare to Tekken 8. It's the perfect time to have a collection of great fighting games side-by-side, but MK1 is inexcusable crap. Elden Ring game of year; Baldur's Gate 3 game of the year one year later.. Street Fighter 6 fighting game of the year. American game developers have been really churning out garbage lately. 😮💨

A seemingly small point that really bleeds into other stuff is the gameplay animation, Tekken has propper startup, windup & impact to the attacks, while MK seems often like the fighters limbs are being pulled rather than them kicking or punching
As someone who played every mk game competitively since mk9, tekken is the better fighting game, has stronger mechanics, more spectacle, and will receive MORE SUPPORT than any nrs mk game will ever receive

@@via_negativa6183 MK games have been changing their gameplay with each new game. Making you relearn everything because the previous games don't apply. Tekken, Street Fight, KoF, Guilty Gear and a lot of other fighters have their core fighting fundamentals baked into the game. You're last game can be Tekken 3 and you can still pick up Tekken 8 and get back those muscle memories.
I took that as an overexaggeration for the sake of trying to make a point. Which is silly, as MK has had so many horrible designs over the years, and even if you look at MK1, even here all the designs aren't winners. Which is less reason to "want to learn everybody". That's ignoring the fact the series was built off palette swapped Ninjas who looked like humans lol. The most popular characters in MK are also humans.

We can argue that they did try to balance every character story in-between arcade story and the Mishima story, but they have done the arcade story goofie, badass, and most importantly, fun. That's my two cents on the matter, for someone who grown up playing fighting ever since the ps1 and on the arcade seens.

I would spend allot of time customizing all the characters though. There was so many options. I played MK11 for a solid 2 years every day until I just got burnt out on it. SF6 is just way more fun, Guilty Gear seems to be going in a more hype direction.... Then Tekken 8 dropped... And if there's any chance Budokai Tenkaichi 4 drop this year?! 1) Each character in T8 is way more interesting than most of MK character in terms of gameplay. There is no fixed type of character in T8- everyone can play both neutral, pressure, defensive, setups etc. Each character has potential to any gameplan you want.
My main, Xiaoyu, is a setup character. But she has a great movement, block punish, evasive kicks and stances (+some fast counterhit lauchers) to play defensive game. She also has good pokes, heavy kick with huge + frames on block and mixups to pressure the opponent (especially using her stances). And there are some amazing whiff punishers for a full combo.
Almost any character has any tools ya need in every situation.
2) It's true that you have 100 moves for each character. But there are 10-20 key moves and the rest of them are situational.
It mostly depends on the character ya've chosen. If it's Xiaoyu, Steve or Lei Wulong (wait his return in dlc) who relies on their stances, you'll need to use many moves. But if you'll play Kazuya or Claudio, you will mostly use 10-15 kicks.
3) Every fighting game makes you learn framedata to not lose every match you play online against any average player.
4) Arcade story was created as a tutorial for the beginners. If you are not new for a Tekken gamy, you don't really need it.
5) Characters ending are not canon but I'm okay that characters here are just a joke. My main gets a huge chunk of story first time ever. I'm completely okay if she have a romantic meeting with Jin in her ending.
6) Perhaps I may enjoy MK1 if the damn NRS stops blocking their game in my country. I can't even activate it in Steam without switching my account to another country and using VPN (and play with 200 png permanently)

Im a tekken newbie, I couldn't progress the story because I sucked so much. I beat arcade quest and learned sooo much about how to play and my character (I think that's the point of this mode, for the newbies). It's so complicated but so satisfying when I see myself improve, learn a new mechanic, or finally get a combo down. The game is also insanely content rich. I'm honestly so glad that I gave tekken a shot, I am now a fan.

Hell some characters can do decently well from simple random button mashing if they have mid/low mix-ups.

I'm commenting before the video starts because If I understand TUDG then he will objectively say Tekken 8 is superior by far. (Super agree with the arcade ending rant).
they are called what if endings! and when did we ever had progression in mk? at least heihachi died in tekken but in mk,they keep resetting everything or bring back dead characters over and over and over again
@@dat1faclesdude they some weak ass what ifs😂. MK definitely doesn't get a pass but at least the arcade endings feel good most of the time. One that sticks out to me is Jacqui Briggs arcade ending. It wasn't a cheap bs ending it showed her true character and who she was a character. Stuff like that is what I wanna see in Tekken not Kuma still chasing after panda 🐼😂
@@sovereignj5768Tekken is a mix of dark family drama and some goofy ass stuff that is also part of what makes it stand out. I assure you, casuals and newbies out there would choose the dynamic flavor of Tekken's stories over MK.
