Yes, that is brilliantly campy. TV was fun in those days. Budgets, cameras, lighting: all much more sophisticated now, but writing and performance cannot beat this. Joan Collins in particular is always a joy to watch as she brought so much "old school" acting method to her scenes. How to make an entrance, how to deliver dialogue while eating/drinking, how to act telephone scenes etc etc.
Yes! That line was hilarious! I tell you: Sable vs Alexis was always far more entertaining than Krystle vs Alexis.
No wonder this show is so iconic.

I love the old drama shows. They were relentlessly throwing shade, and each line was better than the next! The writers on the show were very much on top of their game.

The image of her asking her assistant to run down to dollar tree to get fake toy ships is so petty but funny. And she even got the company logo on the little sign. Like, this little bit took so much preparation on her end. 😂

The over the top cattiness is so funny today. I’m laughing at how we used to take the dialogue and acting seriously. I still love seeing all the clothes, jewels and sets.

I don't think anyone ever took Dynasty that seriously lol, people were very aware that it was over the top, it was part of the fun of watching it back then, and even now.

I think at first Sable thought that Alexis knew she was preggo then, but then realized it was Alexis being her mean insulting self, LOL.
Sable technically came out on top anyway. The insurance would do a full investigation and she would get the full value of the tankers and the contents reimbursed to her. As she bought them for a tenth of what they were worth she would be in serious profit.
'Monica' was so caught up in Joan's performance she forgot to act in her final shot. 😂

This is one of my favorite scenes of any show. It is so amazing.
I doubt these 7 tankers sank ala Titanic style. They all were probably severely damaged while on port. Something like that would be on national news. Alexis should be worried more than coy because an investigation would definitely have ensued. Only on Aaron Spelling shows can you sink tankers or level a city block like Melrose Place and get off Scott free. 😂😂😂😂

I don't think Dynasty or soaps are into realism. I mean how many people came back from the dead, how come no one notices people who change faces and bodies or whose children age faster than Alexis and Sable can throw barbs.

Stephanie was dignified yet spicy....yes Sable actually was supposed to be a bit older than Stephanie was...but still young enough to still give birth! 😅....while Gordon Thompson there was probably 10 years older than Adam was supposed to be. Tracy was apparently older a bit than Monica...

Several fans have made that same comment about Tracy playing Fallon. I would have never thought of her for that role, but they were quite similar physically.
Emma Samms lacked charisma, she was perfect for a daytime goody two-shoes not for a strong-willed and "wild" prime time character. Tracy Scoggins would have been a better choice, in my opinion. Emma was too "plain jane" to be Fallon (at least the Fallon we were accustomed to
before her departure).
I thought Emma did a pretty good job in Season 9 when they finally started writing Fallon stronger. I agree that she was weak in "The Colbys", but, honestly, the character had started going downhill before Pamela Sue left the show, which is one of the reasons she wanted out. But to your point, first and second season Fallon as played by PSM is unsurpassed.
@@ForeverCarrington scoggins was the wrong age for fallon by a few years BUT physically and mannerism wiae yes she could have. And Samms with her accent and physical looks being more similar to Beachams could have played Monica easy enough

Niether actress playing sable or alexis was old enough to be the parent of thier on screen kids. Showed badly with scoggins and beacham worse. They looked like sisters at best
Beacham was 42 and Collins 51, so they definitely could have adult children, although in case of Beacham I admit it is a bit pushing.
