Thanks for the preview! I´m thinking of getting one but first I´d like you or anyone here to answer this question. With the PS5 dpad, I find some combos on SF6 very time tight, for instance with Ryu doing sMP, cMPx, super art. Do you have problems performing this when playing or it is at least easier with Victrix? The problem is that doing with precision double quarter circle with the common PS5d pad is difficult in so little time I think

  • @TheLaw210

You literally summarized my journey apart that I haven’t purchased the Victrix !The Hori is inconsistent on long term even if I like the dpad texture which doesn’t hurt me. You really described it well.
Today I’m back on DualShock 4 with a stupid thumb glove as the DS4 dpad is hurting me very hard. Once my skin becomes a bit gripy, the dpad slick texture kind of pulls my skin close to the nail! That’s why the glove helps to slide smoothly. I don’t understand why Sony doesn’t have a smooth granular texture on their dpads like the Hori Octa dpad. It would be the perfect pad.
So I’m considering buying the Victrix even if I know it’s not perfect.
    Amazing video. Thanks

Totally agree about the Octa dpad hurting my thumb. It felt like it was burning - I was actually using drops of water from the condensation on my drink to cool off my thumb and get some grip! I think it gets better over time, but I ended up getting the Pro BFG as well and I think I do prefer it. They all seem to have their quirks!

The octa pad is smaller so once you learn to stay inside the edges it’s a great pad. They also dull quickly for me I don’t even feel it. I think the your pad is sturdier but the octa being 6 button is just too good to pass up imo. I guess with enough practice you can click the RS and LS sticks consistently but the ability to have them as actual trigger buttons gives you a great accessibility for shortcuts. 1 button for Parry, DI, and EX moves for both punch and kick is amazing.

Omg bro I commented on that post where you were talking about how you didn’t like the Hori. The thing about the Dpad being sharp is something I noticed as well but went away after use. I definitely think the shelf life of it isn’t gonna be longer than 9-10 months but rn now I think it’s a great pad. I definitely think your pad is more sturdy but just the option of a 6 button pad is too good to pass up bc of the massive amount of shortcuts you have access to. Having the 2 extra triggers for RS and LS buttons on gives you 2 buttons that you can assign for easy EX moves or anything for your character that requires double button inputs. I guess with practice though you can click the sticks and get the same effect but feel like input errors will happen.

Great video. I ended up ordering a hit box but it won’t be here until September so I’m just bouncing around pads. All the complaints you have about the victrix is exactly my issues. Those back buttons are literally the worst things. No idea why they don’t make them removable like the elite controllers for the Xbox. Deff a great dpad just wish the backside of the controller was better. As of right now I just use an 8bitdo sn30 pro. Dpad has been great and it’s super cheap. But I’ll prob try to put more time into the victrix.

It is much better now. its not easy there is a video on it if you want me to post a link. Great video,I have the HORI for PS5 with the 6 button layout and its great. You really don't need to play with the claw grip, who does that anyway. I use just my thumb for the 6 button layout and the index finger for the triggers. It takes a little bit of time to get use to extra two buttons on the right. But after that is way better for example in SF6 you can map the additional 2 buttons as you want. I don't need to press the two button parry or map it in the right triggers. Now I don't drop any combos and can also do additional combos which I couldn't do with a normal pad controller.

I’m curious what the polling rate for this controller. On pc you can Overclock any controller to 1000hrz thus reducing input delay to 0.1ms anything under 500hrz your looking at 8-13ms of input delay so about 7 frames of delay.

SF6 does NOT run at 120HZ on PS5. I know you dunces still think it does but it doesn't. That option is there solely to turn of V-sync thus lowering input delay. WT will run at higher frames but it isn't touching 120 on PS5. I know, you console gamers are a little behind the curve on how these things actually work. So, you're welcome.

😂I’m a PC gamer and seems like you really don’t know the difference between refresh rate and frames per second. They are not the same. I suggest you educate yourself before insulting others like that. And oh yes it does run at 120hz 60 fps on PS5.
