@@thequestion174 yeah I'm aware of their specs. I never questioned that. The reason artificer is so good is bc of the cd reduction from crits. But it only affects the artificer. So this build is the best on the other specs

This was my first character and dual wield artificer is still my favorite build in this game. It's so much fun! Haven't tried toxic cloud though but it looks fun. I'll have to try dropping it in the middle of a static cage...
Nice video!!! I've played with the same build myself and this by far the best dps specialization in the entire game. The only downside is that it gets kinda boring later on, cuz of infinite cooldown reduction and stamina. These are supposed be the resources which make you character balanced right? Well artificer works like a god-mode cheat code at least for me as the game allows a player to bypass any kind of limitations that the other specializations have. For example, assassins depend on their stealth and if you mess up your stealth game you deal no dmg, reavers need to manipulate their health very carefully and so on. Yet with artificer it is possible to solo the entire game after you get 65-70% crit chance without breaking a sweat while watching a movie or playing Heartstone at the same time
Even though this is kinda god mode i still love playing it. But if you're looking for a challenge this really isn't the build to go as it's so op xD

My main character is an artificer (Instead of taking lost in the mist and the ability to put asleep mobs to sleep (forgot the name), I'm just playing around with these abilities, cause it's just too much fun to handle)
Sera the tempest archer (no change, absolutely lovely, deadly-jokingly elf, yay!)
Solas my rift/fire (I took static cage instead of wall of fire, because when he uses static cage and I've set up my mines, it obliterates all mobs, just obscene, love it) mage
As for the tanks I'm switching between Blackwall and Iron Bull because both are just way too OP, and I love them !
I let Blackwall do his things when he is in the party, but I can't just help myself and destroy people with Iron Bull (+ the fact I have slight hearts attacks whenever I see "Low health" that often hahahahah)

Nice to see you back in the DA saddle. This exact duo is the most enjoyable run on this game I've had. Varric on daggers can virtually solo Deep Roads DLC. Only downside was, Throw Everything often froze the graphics.
Yeah this build is crazy, it's good to be back hopefully the tier list will come soon. But the bugs are still annoying xD

Going to be using this build on my Rogue for my run! It's interesting to me how you do so much of these builds with a Solo mindset even. It'd be neat if you ever did a video on good AI builds / tactics though.
Awesome, glad to hear you will be using it. I feel like if I go in with a solo mind set then it has to be great in a party, but in worse case scenario your party dies then you can just solo the whole fight. AI isn't the best so I normally do everything myself hence the more solo focused build. However there have been many requests for AI/tactic builds so I might have to get onto a few of them.
I hear you the AI is pretty meh. But ya know it's the immersion and the story elements that they bring, so it seems harder to play this kind of game solo just on THOSE fronts.
Try combining Static cage with the damage per hit perk with spinning blades... this is OP!

Super duper late to the party but, I gotta ask;
The devs at some point changed the base damage value of the elemental mines ability to be 50% weapon damage instead of 175%.
Does this overly negatively effect the build, or is it still likely viable given the dps output?
I am aware that the mines are not the primary layer to the build, but they still look super fun.

@@Karel_The_Goat37 It's still fantastic. The mines actually obliterate most things really easily with some good skill upgrade selections and a decent few bonuses from armor and accessories

I'm using the mod that unlocks all of the skills without needing to go through the trees, and dual blades + arti can be absolutely broken beyond even what we usually see
An amazing video Star. It's funny because this is actually very similar to one of my rogue builds that I came up with. And I can personally attest to the fact that this is one of the funnest builds. So much potential with this artificer. Thing is, being artificer means you can spam your abilities over and over. Now, combine this with lost and the mist, and what do you have? INSTANT WIN. But seriously, awesome build. I'm surprised that my build was so close to this one. Also, EXTREMELY excited for your best gear builds. And remember, if you need extra information, just give me a shout :)

its truly the best specialization...it works with everything you do to it.with a mere level14 i single handedly destroyed every dragon in the game...not using daggers tho...i despise those twigs...i used archery...get all passives.remove long shot, full draw, and anything else except leaping shot and explosive shot.get beats walking in poison tree.have above 160 crit dmg bonus and 50 crit chane at the VERY least for chance...here is the important part...get throwing blades plus the upgrade that makes the dmg increase/stack per FEWER there are enemies.get 5 hidden blades masterwork.also get the 5 guard on hit.btw for leaping shots...get stealth...some disagree, ignore them they play on hard...i play on nightmareWITHcustom stealth plus all the bonuses in stealth...GODDAMNall shots basically ignore armor destroy guard...so much DAMAGE.also get poison weapons and toxic bomb...here is the fun part...toxic bomb can literally be anything you want if you have the passive that makes automatic poisoned ground aoe on left side of tree.

Well it depends. Archer artificer can be really strong with leaping shot but i can also be really buggy. I personally think this is funner to play and with the fact it doesn't bug out makes it in my mind stronger. But if you have no bugs with leaping shot then odds are you can max out more damage with a bow.
StarFlorge gotcha ok good to know. what I decided to do was after watching some of you other videos about tiers I will be going tempest from 10-14 respeccing to assassin from 15-17 and artificer from then on

You can take poison weapons and leave toxic cloud. When you kill an enemy you’ll still get elusive stacks. As long as it is unlocked it works.
However you don’t get the lost in the mist upgrade, which is essential for survivability
Did this with my inquisitor, and when varric was in my party, i got a 100% crit chance lol. Finished the game with all the dlcs and with every trial activated and it was a walk in the park. Got massive frame rate drops and crashes tho because i keep spamming elemental mines like 5 times in succsssion

Hey Starflorge , i love all your work and effort you put into ALL these builds. I have a question , im currently on a DW Artificer after a long break from DAI and its the most fun i've ever had in the Game. But i cant decide which stats would suit best , after having my Critical Chance around 70 ish i dont know what is best, more attack or more Critical Damage.

If you have that high crit chance then crit damage 100%. Attack is only really good if you just put everything into it.

Tell me, please, does Infected Wounds (Poisoned Weapons) apply to all damage, including skill damage, or just auto-attack damage?

Bloodied Prey states it triggers if foes "current health is lower than your own". Is this a straight forward comparison of current health, or are we talking about current health in relation to max health (health%) as you hint at? If the former is true, then it's likely the worst ability in the game as it would almost never trigger, if the latter then it's a nifty damage bonus balanced with similar abilities.
How do you have so much ability points?
With that much dps i bet you dont even take another rogue in your party ^^

Lost in the Mist appears to be bugged. Do you have any alternative suggestions for this build if you don't go down the tree for Explosive Toxin and Lost in the Mist?
I would say knockout powered with the deep sleep upgrade. That should help you disable targets whilst killing others.
Thanks for the help, it's a shame Lost in the Mist got buggy. I started using twin fangs as an experiment both strikes seems to get the bonus from precision targeting. It's been a huge help for boss fights.
Good stuff, considering the rarity of using toxic cloud as an actual ability though, id consider replacing it with something more useful. While it would add some ability points to the build, maybe twin fangs or shadow strike, both of which stack off of throwing blades and do significantly more damage than flank attack. Personally, I’ve found I don’t need knockout powder as flank attack gets through shields and puts you in stealth ready to go round back and hit them from behind also with the stealth damage bonus. If you were to swap knockout powder for something else, you would be able to get a point from not getting its upgrade and only need one more for shadow strike, or not get the ability entirely and have two points for twin fangs or a start towards deathblow (which also stacks off of throwing blades getting pretty much the highest possible damage if enemy is lower on health)
Well, I do explain the reason to take toxic cloud, and it's important to this build. The explosive toxin will spawn a toxic cloud and gains the benefits from it - as my testing during this build showed (unless patched out). This means with every kill you are furthering your elusive stacks which for such a class canon build it helps a ton. knockout powder I can agree can be replaced.
StarFlorge oh, I realize I wasn’t all too clear, my b. I didn’t mean to suggest not getting lost in the mist. In fact, I quite agree. Unless you have something like the op enhanced amulet of barrier, the elusive stacks are a very important part of this build. What I meant to suggest was not having toxic cloud equipped as one of you’re 8 abilities. Since you can get the stacks from killing poisoned enemies, i don’t find it worth using a slot on. Also, I’ve found that elusive stacks stick with my character even through fast travel and camp resting (even across different maps). The only issue in this case would be where the points come from for an extra ability. As you mentioned, knockout powder is not to integral, either getting rid of it entirely to get twin fangs with either of its upgrades or get rid of knockout powder’s upgrade and gain another point from a level and get shadow strike and its upgrade. Probably the former as it can be better suited to solo play. But if you need the stamina regain, unlikely, from shadow strike if done from stealth, than that’s an option too. Anyhow, I just wanted to clear up that hit about toxic cloud.
O I see what you mean - not having it equip but taking the upgrade could be effective. The main reason I take it is I feel the build has enough damage from the spells and having toxic cloud allows you to stack elusive before you go into a fight - but as they seem to last so long it might not be needed. Maybe for boss fights where they will live through your burst you will need toxic cloud to re stack elusive, but for normal mobs I agree it could be replaced for another active ability.
I was wondering could you do some Tempest builds i can never seen to build them right and i cant understand how they work i always feel clunky when playing them. if anyone could comment ideas i would be thankful. loved the video and im happy to see that your coming back to DAI! maybe do another LP?

i dont have twitter i know GASP but this seems like a good enough reason to get one. also i was wondering have you considered a build the focuses on Bleed like artificer or Tempest with caltrops and Flank Attack spam idk but Bleed has always interested me and i wanted to see if it could be a thing hell even if it was just a "for fun" build it would still be intresting
It is free so worth a shot, would be good to have you in the streams :D I was thinking of looking into a bleed/poison build. At first from testing and just experience bleed/poison seems weak but i'm going to try look and see if there is a good version of it.
well Bleed can Stack but Poison cant which is why i was thinking Artificer because you could spam caltrops and use multi hit moves to reduce cooldowns and with tempest you could spam with FOF or intertwine them with FOF depending on the upgrade. the only thing i cant find online is if Bleed damage can crit cuz if it can Artificer might be interesting.

It's a really good game with Mods on PC.
The mods put the needed polish on the game, like weapon rebalances, more character customization, better animations ect.

Nice video, I like your enthusiasm! I'd have a question though, why not use spike trap instead of knock out powder? You already spent a point in it anyway, it will do the job very nicely against those nasty shielded guys (also archers, mages and even despair demons), send them flying, knock them down and icing on the cake you don't even get out of stealth!
If you don't have the points for knock out powder then by all means take spike trap however, knock out powder is much more effective. It can sleep multiple enemies and a key effect is sleep, combine knock out powder > spike trap but if it's the points you don't have spike trap will 100% work.
Yeah, you're certainly right, will definitely give it a try once I have enough points, in the meantime I'm using spike traps with pyrotechnics upgrade which makes it an AoE mine and I have to admit I'm really enjoying seeing guardian enemies flying all over the place!
This is the most unusual artificer build I've seen as you don't center the build on traps.
Would the artificer part work for a archer as well as this?

Do any of your builds take armour sigils into account? I can't figure out how to make the sigil of Felandaris Useful.
If the sigil benifits the build enough i would. Poisons in this game aren't strong enough to make sigil of Felandaris viable. but it could be a build for just fun. Maybe i'll try look into a poison build.
Cool! I'm using the sigil of the great bear On my Templar, and it allows for a ridiculously long charging bull duration. As far as I can tell, the sigil is only a drawback for Reaver's, because their ring of pain drains stamina by a percentage, not a fixed amount per second. Given that Bioware re-used the idea for Andromeda, sigils will probably also be in DA4.

Thank you :D This build is still viable for sure and for this build. The runes, generally have 1 weapon with Fire rune and the other with a lightning rune. As for sigils, there aren't any great ones for this build.

I know flank attack is more DPS but I like having the no CC and no stam cost on grip hook as a gap closer more.
Its less damage but it's more forgiving if you mess up, at least for me at lvl 16 atm.
I have a hard time tracking the camera adjustment on flank.
I want the passives for it but I was thinking about taking the end tier shadow strike in the stealth tree.
Anyone try this?

You could use the build with AI but it wouldn't combo how you'd want it too. Normally if you have a rogue playing AI it's best for the rogue to be an archer. DW is best kept in control of lol.
can i use one of your archer artificer builds for varric or should i go for other? playing with dorian and iron bull in the grp. or is it better to solo play? Because in your videos you playing only varric

I could start making friendly fire builds for sure. Never play with it on but once I get the chance I can look in to it.
The thing i hate about this is that the elusive stack is bugged. The "mist animation" sticks on you even in haven or skyhold. It is freaking annoying

What happened to the trap rogue build you briefly uploaded? That build is completely freakin' broken. I'm playing it right now on Nightmare with Trials and every single mob in the game dies and dies ugly, even Arcane Warriors, Dragons, everything. And explosions are fun!
Thank you for bringing it back up. Basically the save I was building and testing it on is bugged for the build so I'm trying to find a save which isnt bugged for it. I'll hopefully get back round to this build in the not so far future :)
So i am trying this out but for some reason when I use the Elemental Mines they go all over the place and its hard to get the smaller group and its really annoying. A little help please but overall i am happy with this
Yeah elemental mines can be very buggy at times xD
@@StarFlorge I've noticed tried to be stealthy and eliminate most of the health of a dragon using elemental minds then all of a sudden the mines go everywhere XD thanks for replying by the way.

You can pursue this build from about lvl 12 if you have decent crit but otherwise odds are it's better to go for a low level build. I maybe a video on a low level rogue build that could help out.

Can this still work without the tresspasser upgrades, ive been wanting to do a build around throwing blades, but i havent found anyone who has made a build for it without having the toggle tresspaser upgrades
yes, you just dont go down to toxic mist, and can instead take the passives in the stealth or double dagger trees. All of the other skill upgrades picks are base game.
What party setup goes well with this build? I'm still at the beginning so I'm not that op on solo or duo
Partys I love to run is normally either 2 tanks/warriors, 1 rogue and 1 mage.

I did the hinterlands dragon solo with a lv 9 SnB warrior, but it took like 11 minutes
If you had to the death it might speed things up but S+S with no roll it will just take ages to kill anything xD
It's possible to change the knockout powder to a other skill if i don't need it? which skill should be the best alternative?
Willi Rosenkranz The thing is there isn't a great alternative and when you need that Knockout powder you really need it. But if you really want to change it I would use the artificer skill that let's you swap location to get out of tight situations if you ever need to.

by some bizarre string of luck i got two rings that increase spinning blade by 30 percent each. Would this match your rings for dps?
If you have enough crit with the 30% rings on then yes it would work. But if you lose too much crit chance then I would say no. For this build to max out dps crits are the most important thing.
yea i came to realize that as i have been playing. The skills are good but you really need those crits to make the whole combo crazy. I found the rings around level 5 i was just wondering.
All of this type of damage has been nerfed. If someone uses the best weapons, best materials and has every skill, then damage should be the same for everyone that creates this build. If you never see numbers even close to this, ever, it's not usable any more.

I feel the same way, I'm not doing any where near the damage the video shows, with 110% crit damage and 100 to 95 % crit chance. I might try a bow build I've seen.

Just started using this build and I love it but whenever I use the elemental mines they go way up in the air instead of on the ground.. is it a glitch or am I not using them right?
That is a glitch for sure. This game has many bugs. I think I once found this bug and I believe it happens when you throw from a high place - even stairs - to a lower place. Not 100% but I have encountered this bug.

How did Varric get Artificer ? Can we give ur companions whatever specializations we wish ?
Varric is an artificer from the very start. Every companion has their 1 spec that is already pre-determined. i.e. Solas is a rift mage etc etc
Hi there. I just have a question. Im new to this game, can i start out main rogue with your low level build guide and come to this? Or do i need to be varric to do this?
And whats the second character? If you play duo? Support?
You can use the low level build to start and then move to this with your main char. That was the main intention with these builds and the low level one so it's awesome to see you using them :D
The second character was my main. To make these builds so I dont have to level everything I use the followers such as varric to make the builds. With a full team around your rogue you will want a tank, 1 mage CC support and then any other character you want. Hope that helps.

would like to know how you setup your compaion so he dont get attacked or will attack when you do.
i would like to play as mage or rogue myself but at some points in the game its good to have one or the other with you to pick a door or use they mage to make a brigde.
Rasmus Larsen Well normal I take no companions which is the easy way. But as I was playing Varric and needed my main character all you do is go into behaviour and turn it off. Then if you want it back on just turn it on. hope that helps.

So what i observed in this game,if u have enought skill points+bis gear any build can rock.idk why say artificier it's so op when u just use only 1 active skill from artificier tree(when u remember) and u just spam those 2 skills over and over which are from rogue tree...i did checked others of your rogue builds and same u just did spam same skill...anyway,conclusion,when you have OP gear u can kill everithing in this game.i would love to see your build test with not such op gear to see that not everything it's one shoted as you say.gl
What do you define as not op gear? It's quite easy to get "OP" crafted weapons and gear, the accessories in my mind are the only thing hard to get in the game. But I like the idea of this challenge :)

There is a tempest build out there that uses thousands cuts spam that kills the boss even faster.
it would be much wiser to use spike trap because it knocks enemies down and does a shit ton of damage.
I didnt get it right, how to activate the extra spinning blades attacks again?
You just have to land an earlier attack. This is the official description: The number of your deadly slashes grows when you connect with earlier attacks. Note that there are Additional hits: 4
How'd you get your fov to be that far out? I just picked up the game and the fov is too close
On PC you can just zoom out. If you're on console I dont know if you can sorry.
