Please don't ever stop making videos. The quality of not only the videos but the paintings are absolutely incredible. You are literally the next Bob Ross.
Bob was not a skilled painter but I'm sure he inspired a whole lot of people to start painting which was great. I enjoy Bobs videos for his calm and soothing voice :)
Danny Pavlov and MindGem - Totally agree with both of you! Andrew is becoming an influential figure to many individuals and his skills are exceptionally captivating. Love his work!
i've been taking art classes for years in both college and highschool and always struggled with painting, i thought i just wasn't good at it! but hearing you explain conveying depth through saturation and brush strokes like that made something click!
Right, crisp mornings are the best. So lovely to have one wet one in the transport box before going off to breakfast!! Late afternoons are not bad either; to have another one done, and in the box, before repairing to the pub for a pint or two!! LOL :D
I travelled New Zealand last year and it was the trip of my life! Got so inspired to paint all these amazing lotr landscapes, and still struggle a lot of how to do it in watercolour. You videos are very inspiring and useful, thank you!
I've just started the adventure of oil painting, I'm very exited about going out to do plain air. Your work impress me and now I can't wait to learn more about this medium and create beautiful art. Thanks for your tips and knowledge, will help me out on my new journey. Love your paint is amazing!!!
It's true what you said about the belief in the art world that landscape painting is dead when in fact it is that many of the great landscape artists that are dead. Modern art may appeal to those who are educated in such but the majority of those viewing such are left in bewilderment. I'm sure if such art was not signed the only way to know how to hang it would be from the direction of the paint runs. A landscape painting is a window to your greatest imagination by inticing the viewer to travel somewhere special. Keep up the fantastic work and thanks for the instruction, it's helping me (and countless others) immensely and greatly appreciated . John
Thank you Andrew so much. You are my favorite artist! I won several awards in my drawing and painting during my school years in the past, then I stopped. Now after watching series of your paintings I want to paint again. You are a great inspiration, keep the good work! Thanks again. Jake
En Plein Air painting is my resolution for this year. I will have to just get over the fact that people, like me, will just be itching to have a peep over my shoulder and I am just an amateur and learning. Your videos and those of other very gifted plein air artists on RUclips are heaven sent to people like me. Thank you again.
These are such beautiful paintings and an incredible presentation of lessons with many useful tips and a clear explanation of the nuances! I am very grateful for all your videos! You are an amazing artist and teacher!
Lovely scene, great video. Reminds me of a time I went on a painting trip with friends in the John Muir Wilderness, Sierra Nevadas of California, a decade ago. Back-packed in ten miles, and took my fly rod as well as my painting and camping stuff. Next day I caught trout from a small lake we camped by, for breakfast for the group, before we all went off our separate ways to paint in the morning. Yeah,... it's sometimes a pretty tough life being a plein air painter!!
realmente eres uno de mis preferidos, por tu generosidad al mostrar tus métodos y por tu buen gusto.aprendo mucho de ti,gracias .Mar del plata Argentina.
Wow. Love your video. I have just started plein air painting with oils and have made a few videos on my channel. You have inspired me to keep going thank you.
This is brilliant thank you. I struggle to work dark to light as I always end up messing the sky. But this process is definitely one that makes more sense to me. Thank you Andrew
I can't tell you how much I enjoy watching your videos, each one of them is so helpful and beautifully filmed, not to mention how beautiful the paintings are :) I love the sheeps behind the fence in this painting, they make the painting really special :D
Definitely one of the best demos I've seen described during a painting. Thank you for including your brush selection and color explanations as you paint. Really incredible painter and teacher.
Fantastic!!! I’m also a painter and it really excites me so much that I find other artists who are passionate about the beautiful compositions of nature’s colors! 🙏🏽
Ciao Andrew, first time i watch your utube channel. Dynamic and simple and clear explanations.. what i need as i m passionate of drawing and painting...MOLTO BRAVO!!! Grazie 😊
You are a great artist my friend! Wise beyond his years..l always gain a bit of insight from your videos. There is no greater faculty than that of the artist community. Yes we advertise through sharing, but the best compliment (besides paying the bills through our patrons) too a true artist is to inspire others... Color me inspired ☺
Such a helpful video from whre to start (farthest features) to paint color/ palette tips. brush type and size, strokes , composition etc. So inspiring and such good timing for me.. Not plein air this time but I'm putting one up on the easel tomorrow from a plein air and photo reference gathering trip. And for future plein air starts. Thank you.
You should have some sheep there too! I had to laugh when he put in elements to remind one this is New Zealand; he said: "we are going to need some sheep"! Heck I say that every time I have a hankering for some lamb chops!! LOL. :D
Right, been there done that in the Sierra Nevadas of California. I was the "breakfast getter" for our crew of a few other painters when we would hike in for a week by some nice lake to paint the mountains! Early morning freshly caught trout meal prepares you nicely, gives you the energy you need for a day of painting at 10,000 feet,.... carrying around your painting stuff on your back,... where, tying your boots is a big deal,... on the first few days!
Tisch you are a mighty tiger. Last weekend I drove from the interior of B.C Canada to the coast, mind expanding landscapes brother, if you ever visit!!
Thank you Andrew, great little vid from which I learned a lot! Looking forward to getting out and painting the landscape. Your work is always inspiring x
Please don't ever stop making videos. The quality of not only the videos but the paintings are absolutely incredible. You are literally the next Bob Ross.
He's definitelybalready a lot better at painting than Bob Ross was, so I guess you must be talking in terms of influencing people.
Bob was not a skilled painter but I'm sure he inspired a whole lot of people to start painting which was great. I enjoy Bobs videos for his calm and soothing voice :)
