It is very cool indeed. I will be putting this thing through the ringer. The 400W panel works very well with it and charges the battery impressively in full sun. On AC, it is unreal how fast this bad boy can recharge. Seriously! Thank you Tom!
I wouldnt use that battery pack for welding if it wont run the welder when it's turned up all the way. That welder needs to be on it's max setting for 1/8 steel, you can also slow the wire feed rate down for more heat/better penetration. Your weld is too cold and not strong, the metal beside the weld should be glowing red for a few seconds after welding, that's how I gauge if it's set right. Plug the welder into your generator and crank it up to it's max setting. I also store my mig welder in the house, the wire rust really fast and wont work if I leave it in the unheated garage.
Thanks for sharing buddy. I also did not know about the wire rusting so that is also very much so appreciated as well. I will be watching for the substrate to be glowing upon completing my welds in the future. For now, I am going to continue to run some beads playing around. Thank you again!
You're better than me at welding. I think you're doing great with it so far. I can't comment on the quality of the weld because I have no experience with welding.
Good know know man! Maybe you are better than you think? Maybe not according to PA State, but maybe you could make it in the country just fine my friend.
Very impressive that the power pack is able to handle that extremely dirty load so well! I think you're doing great for your first time flux core welding👍🏻 as Mike said, it looks like you're doing little circles with the puddle, that works, and it looks like your travel speed is ok but your motion seems a little fast, and maby try more of a crescent or zigzag motion. Practice makes perfect and lots of good channels here on YT to learn from😁
I really appreciate that AP. I will try a few different patterns with this machine. I would like to braze and tig weld sometime for sure. Super fun stuff man!
Im not sure if the flux core will actually "dig" really deep in that metal. To get it to burn in more it need more "heat"/amps. But with like stick welding there are different rods for different tasks. Some stick electrodes are a "deep digging rod" some are not. Some are better for rusty material. Some are not.
👍👍I glue metal together - that’s saying I’m no welder. However, on flux, thin material like you were trying, that’s about as good as it gets. You have to really carefully booger spot weld😊
I am hoping that I will be able to tack some stuff together on some mufflers. I am going to practice on some Farmertec ones I have first. I want to do some nice one like you do!
It looks like when your welding your making circles. That is fine but it does seem like your moving a little fast. Hard to tell not watching in person.
👍🏻 I think his travel speed seems ok, maybe a little on the fast side. But his puddle manipulation "circles" is a little too fast to actually get a decent puddle going. Easier to tell in person than on video🤷🏻♂️
I have some tabs I need to weld on my stairs on my house. I have them shimmed up kinda weird with some wood. With this welder, that is going to no longer be an issue! Stoked!

Super happy that power pack is running that welder. Everything seems to be doing ok.
Yes, I think the solar generator is going to be super useful. Really cool to have this as an option!
I bet that solar generator will work just fine
I was shocked!
That little mig looks handy. I could see some uses for that little guy
I am thinking it is going to be pretty handy! Love to be starting to learn this skillset.
Being your 1st time. I think your doing great
Thank you Mike! I seriously could have done this all day for sure!
I really like that the welder has a wire feed button under the hood
So cool! Thank you buddy!
That setup is pretty cool. I like the no motor aspect also nice and quiet 👍

I think you will really enjoy tig welding
That is the goal! I would love to do soda cans!
You will get way better results running on 220 vs. 110
Thanks sir. Have you been putting your bestarc to use much recently?
Super impressive that battery bank can run the welder!
MIND BLOWN! Thank you man!

Maybe it is the machine Kenny! I looked at getting a letter up to you via Fedex and it was going to be like $80.......... ya..... that sucks.
@oakiewoodsman $80 haha, no way. They forced the mail carriers back to work so ya can mail it now.
our Postal service will not take anything going to CA still. hahaha
@oakiewoodsman I don't blame them. We are broken. Give it some time buddy. No worries Joe.
@@OpenAirAdventure I will get em up to you asap!
It did look like it had good heat penetration!
Thanks man! You weld at all??
@ I can do enough to be dangerous. Haha
@ hi weld my own hooks and stuff on my buckets, but I would never tackle anything major unless I had more time under my belt

Alright. I really want Farmscrap to watch this video and weigh in on this whole deal. Thank you sir!
I’ll be working on my welding game soon too! I didn’t think the power pack would run a welder.
Awesome man! I was shocked too! I am excited to get to the point where I will feel comfortable welding something structural

Hello guys! Hope you are well today!

Hahaha I spoke to soon you noticed you where going a little fast

you both are right.... I am doing circles. I am going to try a few different things going forward. Thank you again Mike and AP!
81 amps will weld alot of material
I have some tabs I need to weld on my stairs on my house. I have them shimmed up kinda weird with some wood. With this welder, that is going to no longer be an issue! Stoked!
I really expected the welder to pull more watts than that.
Me too! Thank you sir!
