I just made my first quiche using this video's instructions as a guide. The results were fantastic! I made the egg mixture precisely per instructions but went on my own path the rest of the way. I blind baked a premade deep pie shell (Kroger, just because they were on sale.) and then I sauteed onions, garlic, mushrooms and spinach in canola oil and butter. I put the veggies in first then layered the cheese and egg mix over it. The cheese mix consisted of Romano, Parmesan, Cabot extra-sharp white cheddar and kroger medium cheddar. My wife quit being mad at me for a few minutes and gave it an 8 on a scale of 10. My beagle gave it a 9.5 on the begging for more scale.
I'm going to try and make this today, my son is obsessed with quiche and wants me to learn to cook it. I live in London and don't think we have half and half, but will use half milk and half single cream. Wish me luck!!
How I ever forgot this menu I will never know...I used to make this at least twice a month back in Mystic, Ct., years ago. I now live in Thailand and retired...Thank you so much for reminding me...I will make this for some of my Thai friends...(it will have to be spicy hot...LOL) Thanks so much...!

Quiche is not just for breakfast..it can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, brunch or dinner. 🥰🥰 I enjoy it warm or room temperature any time of day 🤗 I pair it with French Onion Soup, Baby Greens Salad with cider and apple cider vinaigrette or just enjoy it by itself. Thanks for the amazing recipe.

Thanks for your question. Half and half is simply half cream and half milk. You can make your own at home by combining equal parts of milk and cream. Enjoy!
I will make this for Easter morning. I will add an extra egg and use heavy whipping cream, hold the nutmeg, and instead add ‘Slap Ya Momma’ seasoning instead. I will roll my pie crust, and then do a fancy edge. Then boil potato cubes, dry, then put into bottom, brown some loose sausage then dry using paper towels, add. Then sprinkle chopped green onions, and a cup or so of medium sharp cheddar. Bake. Stick in fridge. I will also be making cinnamon rolls, warm up the quiche, the combination a wonderful Easter morning breakfast with minimal prep. 🤗

Hello, Allrecipes! So, in my ever enduring quest for making the not-so-healthy, healthy...can you use a carton of pre-seprated egg whites for this? Or is that just too blasphemous for this kind of thing? :] Thank you for your response in advance!

Hey, HelloItsKylee, no dumb questions in cooking! That's how you learn, so never hesitate to ask. Frank The Tank, true, looking at it again I completely agree. 2 cups of half-and-half with only four eggs seems out of balance for a quiche. I guess I shouldn’t believe everything I read on the Internet LOL
@@suz0000 I just made one I haven't eaten yet, but I use 6 eggs about 4oz milk. It has to look yellow what she did it looked white. I wanna taste egg. What's the purpose of having quiche if it doesn't taste like egg?

Add the bacon to a frying pan on moderate heat and fry until slightly crispy, then add the bacon and cook for 60 seconds. Turn off heat and leave aside. Step 2 In a mixing bowl, crack and add the whole eggs, season with salt and pepper and some grated nutmeg. Beat the eggs using a whisk then add the cream, mix well. Step 3 Line a mould with the pastry dough, prick a few holes using a fork, place some parchment paper and add some blind baking beads or rice to keep the pastry flat. Bake for 20 min at 400°F - 200°C Step 4 Once cooked, remove paper, baking beads and arrange the bacon and ham inside the pastry. Gently pour in your egg mixture, but don’t quite fill it to the top just yet. Place it in your oven, then continue filling it whilst in oven (avoids spillage). Fill it to the absolute maximum of your pastry height but do not overflow. Bake for 30 min at 320°F - 160°C Step 5 Leave to cool 30 minutes before removing from tin. Serve and eat warm.
