I live right up the street from all the fast food chains in my town. Started dashing tonight, delivered 3 Jack In the Box orders, 53 min active time, made $30. Not too shabby.
Day 1 I earned $29. Day 2 and 3 I made $50 by just choosing a better time to go. I get to listen to music and drive. Tomorrow my dad needs to go somewhere in downtown Dallas so I’m going with him and while he spends his day busy, I’m gonna run around and take orders in a place where someone I met said he makes $200-$250 a day.

I agree with all the tips except for one. I found it much better to drive between hotspots than to sit at one. I've gotten far more orders driving around. The only time I would say to sit put is if it's really slow bit even them, I've had better with driving around.
I don't take fast food orders. Not worth the headache waiting. And I love the fact so many restaurants are literally feet from where I park. Winning!!!!!

May I ask what city you signed up in ?, my city currently has no drivers available and I cannot wait on the waitlist that will literally take years so I’m looking for a city that does lol
I did my research first and today was my first day. Long story short I finished with almost $80 with 3 active hrs. 1 good take away is to not rush because I do know I was super early for sure for at least dropping off three which was stressful only because I was new to this and took on two orders at least three or four times in the same area or same restaurant. This being my first time was stressful but I managed with no hiccups
I've started three days back but I couldn't grab much orders and literally when I start to make 2 order, my scheduled time finish and I can't work , I don't know why I can't extend my slot ???
One of the reasons on the decline order page needs to be “I don’t work for free!” What’s up with all these $2.75 for 5 miles or $3.75 for 6 miles? “I don’t work for free.” should be a reason.
I would love to see a video that walks me and talks me through a full door dash after the fact... so record it in the moment, leave that hard to focus background music out, and talk me slowly through the process of an order coming in - what do you look at, what helps you to decide whether to take the order or not, what are the things you consider? Once you take the order, talk us through the details of how the app works from there. My first order took me forever to figure out how to do everything in a timely manner and I ended up getting tagged as not having delivered it on time, when in fact, I had delivered it at least 5-10 minutes early. Also, where do you put your purse? Some of the areas I deliver to are not the most trustworthy and full of character, integrity, and respect. I worry about my purse when I jump out to run a delivery up to a house. Things I found hard to figure out on my first day dash today: 1. How do I look at the screen and know whether it is worth my time and drive? 2. How do I know what the full amount of miles will be? 3. Once finished, do I drive back toward a hotspot to pick up another delivery or stay where I'm at? 4. Is there a way to tell where I'm being sent ahead of time? (I live in Indiana and it sent me across the border to a rough neighborhood in Illinois today. I grew up in a neighborhood like that and I know what goes on. I was not prepared and should never have been over there.) 5. How do you go into the app and send the customer a text? Are you doing this through the app or through your own text message? 6. I actually live in a rough and unsafe area... How do I drive to a safer area where I can work? Do I have to find the hotspot or can I just go to the area and then pick up orders from there? 7. What app or process do you use for tracking mileage, vehicle maintenance, etc? 8. I know I'm missing some things. For a type A - Highly sensitive personality and a total introvert (functional introvert but nonetheless...), I was a little overwhelmed with it all. I wish I could have had time to play in a "test" version to really learn my way around the app and figure out how to navigate it but because they don't offer that, I need a video that at least takes the time to show these things - and preferably, a previously recorded dash that has been gone back through and voiced over to explain everything...
I know if you open up the app, the red busy areas you can click on them and hit navigate and once you arrive in that zone you can dash there. I like to go away from the bad neighborhoods lol (although sometimes it’ll end up taking me right outside of Englewood in Chicago as thats where the customer is). I’ve noticed the restaurants are almost always inside the zone, but the customers can be anywhere outside of it.
Well first of all I would recommend not taking a purse if you're that worried about it... I understand there are things women have to keep on them no matter what, but these things can be stored in easy to access locations in your car. As far as the other stuff, I'm just starting Dashing today :P So I don't have any info on that lol
what do u mean by the red card? If they have the app, why would u need to use a red card to pay for their order. Shouldnt it all be done before u pick it up?
Thanks brother for these great tips. I have been following you for a long time. I appreciate your insights and experiences that you have been able to share. Great job!
Don’t rush is a really big one, especially with drinks. I went to Goodwill and got a few good size purses/totes and baby blankets for my insulated bags. I take the bags with me into restaurants so I can pack the order into the bag and keep it at temp, plus very stable so it doesn’t spill as I load/unload. I take the bag to the door and unload it there, so it’s at good temp. Customers appreciate it.
.55 per mile. Record, give to tax person at tax time. That’s it. Use mileage tracking app. If you pay for app that can also be written off. Can also write off any food you buy while working. Keep receipts
I was really lucky that I had several hot and cold bags that were gifted to me (and the whole company) from my regular job. Only problem is that they say the local hospital name and logo really large on the side. But I just leave those in the car. Lol

#3 was my burning million dollar q! Where should dashers hang out to get set for the next order. So thanks. I’m new starting today ( New Years Day 2023) and I look forward to making some needed cash.
Hello Mike. Thanks for all you do. My question here is as most of the orders come in their own bags, when do you consider taking your bag into a restaurant to receive orders. Or do you always take it in no matter what the order is? And I'm guessing you have various sized bags for different sized orders. So when do you determine when it's appropriate to use these bags?
The door dash bag is crappy. Too small for one. I bought a couple off Amazon and reinforce the side so it would stand up with cardboard in the interior it’s much larger and I can hold a lot more sometimes I bring the bag in because that way the employees know right away it’s DoorDash it just depends though. I have a separate drink carrier sometimes the cardboard ones they give you are really not secure enough
You don't get a starter kit, until after delivering for a while. Not sure if that's a new policy, and this video was published before that changed, but I just started, and they told me I won't get a bag or a red card until I've delivered for a couple of weeks. Just thought you should know.
I'm relatively new to this but i choose it due to making my own schedule and if my babysitter for whatever reason can't watch my daughter I'm not calling into work sick I just don't log in that day but on the other hand it's a small town and less than a year old in this town so not a whole lot of orders but my max delivery would be 2 miles if I went from one side of town to the other
Do u know if its an apartment building or a certain neighborhood before u hit accept or do u have to accept the order to then see the details? I really only want to do residential houses.
it says that AFTER accepting. or i would decline apartments all day. however if u dont want to do it that badly u can unassign the delivery and doordash will ask why. say u dont wanna go to that residence

Active Time - time spent on a dash, from "Accept" to "Order complete" and Dash Time is total time spent "online" (from hitting dash now to hitting end dash).
i juat got accepted by doordash--per the app--they don't send you the hot-bag until after you have completed your first dash. What type of first dashes can I/should I accept that wouldn't require a hot-bag?
If you have a Tesla, this job is SO worth it. 4 hours of dashing is around 25-30% of my battery and I’m more open to taking a lot of orders. I live right near my capital and try not to take orders that cross the river into the shady part of town.
Started doing door dash a few days ago I had a decent and 2 ehhh so so days and have had bad luck with the tipping should I not accept order that don't have tips 🙃?
I always feel nervous that I might deliver it late to a customer due to traffic, accident, waiting at the store for minutes, hard to find the address and other unexpected delays beyond your control. I want to calm down...
Thank you for your door dash and uber eats videos!! Is there a way to start gps automatically when accepting a dash order? Or do i have to always click the google map button??
Serious question. Why do I care to "stand out" to restaurants because I purchased an extra door dash bag🎒? If anything that tip should be to keep more food fresh when you have multiple orders.
Just started dashing. The app will not give you any orders until your in the zone that your scheduled to work in. It tells you in a yellow banner to get back to the hotspot areas to receive an order. I sat in a non hotspot area and it was the only times i didn't get an order within 10 minutes.
With winter coming, what do you recommend about trying to find apartments’ addresses in the dark? I based my decision on taking certain orders knowing fast food are usually apartment Renters. I also don’t take the bait with stack orders that are extremely low which Door Dash tries to sneak in all the time since that lame order has been declined by other dashers.
Hello, a subscriber recommended the Beans app which is GPS for apartments; I've been experimenting with that. DD also does a good job of showing you exactly which building to deliver to even within complexes. Last resort I'll stop at the complex map if I'm lost.
Hello, go to "Help" and select the order then select cancel delivery. Full breakdown: help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/How-can-I-unassign-myself-from-an-order?language=en_US
I’ve started doordashing just recently done 25 delivery’s 0 customer rating still and nonfiction came up 4.00 below lead to deactivation What can I do to resolve this
Hey Mike - looking to maybe get into this business since I'm unemployed due to the Covid-19. How many miles do you typically drive on a normal or busy day?
I don't like the new rule of having to be monitored 24/7 by DD now. Of course there is a work around but what right do they have of knowing where I am 24/7? Independent contractor?
This pertains to the LA market only. But don’t accept deliveries to marina del Rey: it’s hard drop offs and people in those high rises especially young women are rude and they never tip. People who order from sugar fish can spend $120 on their order but never tip. That’s why Postmates is offering a $2 bonus for all sugar fish orders.
Where do I find the Dasher store ... Is it in the app? My red card and bag are lost in the mail. Post office has no idea where the package is. Is there a way to track your mileage? I'll never had early access. Every door dash order I've taken is jacked up. I've even had customers yell at me about drinks they didn't order that weren't on any ticket or in the app during a contactless delivery. They never ordered the drink at all. When the app glitched and Gave me a 25 miles order it said was 5 miles away... I logged out and never went back.
When u say home u mean my house lol? I usually go sit at the mall close to many hot spots but the hot spots look confusing on the app sometimes I sit all morning
When people do orders for say walmart do people just throw them in the back seat or use like rubbermaid container or something? I always use my hot bags for other orders but for big grocery orders idk, I'm not the best at keeping my car super cleaned out..
⚡️As a new Dasher, do you know what to do if your Red Card gets declined? Watch this video next: ruclips.net/video/GOVEtMi-v2o/видео.html
Can you make a video on how to use red card on an order more specifically ? Thanks a bunch.

I'm a new subbie and also going to Dash later on. Thanks for your help.
#3 was my burning million dollar q! Where should dashers hang out to get set for the next order. So thanks. I’m new starting today ( New Years Day 2023) and I look forward to making some needed cash.
Great advice.
You get one big red bag. Your orders come in plastic or paper bags. Take the bags out to your car and put them in the red bag.
Just started today! Thanks for the tips!
Do you keep track all your miles during your whole session . Or turn on and off in between trips
I track until I’m done for the day.
Can I do this without the bag and red card or should I wait until I receive them?
You are the best Mike, info is helping lots. ty
How do you unassign? I havent figured that out yet 🙁
@@erikasteck2395 Top right - can't do this order. But it does affect your completion rate.
My very 1st day Very 1st delivery will be today and I’m nervous as the Virgin Mary….if she was nervous. I wanted to start yesterday I 🐔out. I know I will be good at it IVE ALWAYS HAD GR8 customer service skills I’m just shaking in my boots 🤞🏽🍀😉
May I ask what city you signed up in ?, my city currently has no drivers available and I cannot wait on the waitlist that will literally take years so I’m looking for a city that does lol
@@shannongonewild9717 I signed up in Gretna Louisiana which is a hop skip and a jump from New Orleans Louisiana and it stays quite busy as busy as you want to be or as relaxed as you want to be
I like wearing the red shirt I think so!
So I can order it, I guess!
Cute & red!
❤️
Grateful for the solid advice. Really appreciate it. 🙂
Do you have or can you do a video for deductions? How to calculate gas, maintenance, repairs ect... I put in work last week made abour $725 but nearly $300 in gas (18mi/gallon ugh) do I deduct gas from earnings then calculate taxes based on whats left of is it based on total earnings?
Should i watch my dash time or active time?
Active Time - time spent on a dash, from "Accept" to "Order complete" and Dash Time is total time spent "online" (from hitting dash now to hitting end dash).
i juat got accepted by doordash--per the app--they don't send you the hot-bag until after you have completed your first dash. What type of first dashes can I/should I accept that wouldn't require a hot-bag?
I’m 20 years old and I was lost at life I hated a 9-5 job door dash really changing my life bro thank god for this 💪🏽❤️
If you have a Tesla, this job is SO worth it. 4 hours of dashing is around 25-30% of my battery and I’m more open to taking a lot of orders. I live right near my capital and try not to take orders that cross the river into the shady part of town.
Great tips man!
When your waiting for a stacked order is it after you already accepted an order and wait a minute before you pick it up/going inside?
thank you for the info
Thank you for the advice
More excellent info! Thanks!!
Same man but we just gotta give it a shot and put the worries aside
Thanks for the tips
Hi! Why is there a promos schedule I know you would get the same promos if you just click dash now. Is there any differences?
You can
Red card orders are very rare these days. They moved everything to direct connect to be part of DD in most cases.
I have 4 violations and still considered a top dasher I’m so lucky
I'm in San Diego. Thanks.
whats that spreadsheet? got any links for to save for it? deductions column must be some formula?
Thanks so much
Thank you for your door dash and uber eats videos!!
Red card orders: Placing the order yourself.
Is it normal to not receive the welcome kit (bag and red card?) I never got mine :(
I'm so nervous to start trying this gig economy thing man... I'm signed up to drive for a bit today. We'll see how it goes I guess
nothing to be nervous about, very simple. Only tough "factor" is long wait times - finding houses
Thanks again for a great Video. So helpful, and great reminders for even some of us drivers that have been in the game for a bit.
Glad to help!
What is the best app to track your miles
Need 240 more to get $600 bonus!!! Wis me luck! Hey, nice video man!
How do you cancel a delivery? I can't figure that out.
Hello, go to "Help" and select the order then select cancel delivery.
Full breakdown: help.doordash.com/dashers/s/article/How-can-I-unassign-myself-from-an-order?language=en_US
I’ve started doordashing just recently
done 25 delivery’s
0 customer rating still and nonfiction came up 4.00 below lead to deactivation
What can I do to resolve this
what is the ABN number and how do I go about getting one??
Hey Mike - looking to maybe get into this business since I'm unemployed due to the Covid-19. How many miles do you typically drive on a normal or busy day?
Don’t doit, you will make more money with unemployment.
@@Tony-sx8mm leech off the gov and be a bum even when you can find jobs… sad!!!!!
I don't like the new rule of having to be monitored 24/7 by DD now. Of course there is a work around but what right do they have of knowing where I am 24/7? Independent contractor?
Agreed.
I just got approved to drive it says do your first run before I get my red card. Should I buy bags first what should I do to begin with
Hey mike do u have to schedule a shift or you don’t have to ? Like can I dash whenever ?
Top Dasher can Dash now anytime
I really want to know what I need to do for paying for taxes by myself? Thank you.
联系会计师事务所然后把你一年DOORDASH挣的明细带上,美国这边是每年4月开始报税
Great!
Door dash gives me deliveries outside my scheduled area once I've delivered there. Have things changed?
This pertains to the LA market only. But don’t accept deliveries to marina del Rey: it’s hard drop offs and people in those high rises especially young women are rude and they never tip. People who order from sugar fish can spend $120 on their order but never tip. That’s why Postmates is offering a $2 bonus for all sugar fish orders.
Thanks for the LA tips Kaye 👊🏻
