Great news ,smoking is a funny game , you pay a lot of money to give yourself cancer and a early death ,, while the executives of smoke factorys are driving red sports cars ... Never go back , be a true winner ...
This is a great video. I’m a runner, still, sort of, actually not really anymore. I’ve had to cut way back on running because of knee, hip and ankle pain. I thought running was necessary for weight management and by walking instead I’d gain weight. But that hasn’t happened. If anything the reverse has happened. I find I am much less hungry when I walk vs run. Even if I walk the same distance as I’d typically run. I also sleep better. I think running is very stressful on the body. And if your someone with anxiety issues and a lot of stress already (like me) running probably isn’t the best idea. Walking is just relaxing.
I have found the same...enjoyed running all my life..5k, 20k, and marathon. I recently had a lower back injury and have had to start walking... I find walking way less stressful on the body...less impact and I also don't crave the same foods after a walk as I would with a run. Walking is more relaxing and I can listen to a podcast. Also easier mentally to walk every day than run every day. Walking will be my new exercise
I’m petite and started working overnight and gained 20 pounds since my job is a computer job. just started back walking and it feels amazing. I walked 3 days per week. 3-4 miles per each day. Well the more I walk when it time to go I always end up doing two or three more laps. It’s such a good feeling u can’t stop. Going to start listening to music during my walks but I love hearing nature the birds see the butterfly’s. It’s amazing. I also walked a lot after giving birth years ago. Also noticed my dreams are very clear and if I set an alarm my body automatically wakes up a minute before the alarm goes off. Crazy how my body knows what time it is while I sleep. Mood is very light and happy 😊 proud of myself
I aim for daily walks, but sometimes skip a day and I feel it. It’s just a lethargy that comes over me when I don’t get my walk in. Such great medicine and it feels good too.
Great and informative video! I walk every day because that's how I get to and from work. Best decision I've ever made was to walk to work rather than bus. I feel like I start my day better that way.
Walking makes part of my daily routine over last years . I use to walk 7 Km / day on average . But for me walking is only fun if i use my ear buds and listening to my favourites music tracks while i am walking . I have around 120 mp3 songs on my Smartphone. My Smartphone with my earbuds are essential while i am walking. Walking everyday was the best thing that happenned to myself over the last years.
Thanks so much AGAIN for being so informative and in such a simple way we can all understand and absorbe easily. I’ve been all my life a runner and last year I sustained a brain injury which stopped me from any intense exercise so I started walking more often. Now that I can run again I choose walking 😊
I walk or run my 2 Giant Schnauzers 8 miles a day, I also lift weights, and ride my Mt Bike up in the hills of the San Francisco Bay Area.. Your Video makes me want to walk even more!!!! : ) Thank you!!!! Keep on Walkin'!!!! ; )
I've been walking since Feb 2016 and took off 40 pounds first year and just walking daily fine maintenance. Also my body looks different besides the weight loss Also no more blood pressure pills
Thank you Jessica! I love your channel and services. You have been a part of my journey to get back to health. I agree with you, don't measure it if you can't. Just start five minutes, get off the couch/chair. Thank you for all that you do and using your strengths and talents to help others.

I gave up my car 12 years ago & walk miles everyday. I have young kiddies who walk everywhere & you really see the benefits of using their energy walking in the fresh air compared to their peers who are stuck traveling in cars all the time ( usually hyper active & destructive behaviours). We, as a family love & enjoy walking.
I'm in a mich better mood if I walk my dog first thing in the morning. Love to hear the birds, see nature in the morning light, and breath the fresh air. It's a great time to get a Podcast in or spend time with my family. I at the age of 38 have hip that I need to be careful with so walking suits me best than a workout with a lot of kicking or high leg movements.
Thanks! Great video. I'm 60, started running marathons in 2020 (5 hrs).. in a run local run club and always inviting friends. All are enthusiastic to start but have legit excuses.. "my knees", "I had an injury", "I had surgery", "I'm embarassed"... I then recommend to start walking.. I will share your video!
I'm just beginning to walk again for short bursts, post spinal surgery last year. I have an issue with one hip so it's walk sit, walk sit. I'm grateful I live by the sea. I actually cycle everywhere and cycling by the sea is my favourite thing to do most of the year. I do get off and walk a bit with my bike also. July 1st is my birthday. My hip is improving with the deep stretching I do daily. Getting there with the aid of my rebounder, water rower, step, weights, resistance bands as well as pilates and dance 😁
I do not stress myself out on an amount I should walk. I’m a very active 60 year old grandmother with arthritis. I strive to walk daily 30-60 minutes. If my day gets too busy, oh well🤷♀️
Totally agree with you. If a day is missed, it's missed...that is such a relaxed attitude. A relaxed attitude keeps you healthy, too. And if a day is missed, there's always the next time 👏

What do you or your followers wear as good walking shoes? I'd love to find shoes that have cushioned insoles embedded in the shoe -- not memory foam or removeable foam insoles. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated!
7,000 steps in half an hour? Sounds like running to me :). I walk lots (and love it, too :), usually over 9k per day, and I am a relatively fast walker...9k takes me at least 1 hr 15...
How do you manage to notice what’s around you when you have headphones on and you’re listening to the news or a podcast? That’s quite a rare skill. I’d love to be able to do it so could you share some tips? Likewise how do you manage to hear what’s being said and process it while you’re noticing everything around you?
Hey Jessica, can you do more postpartum videos for specific parts of your body? I feel like other videos on RUclips are too intense and I don't want to overdo it, and I love your full body video. Thanks!
Walking is great. Frees the mind , you absorb some infrared rays and vitamin D and move. I will also say that sprinting is very beneficial as well and will reduce visceral fat. Walking is easier of course and more peaceful and you wont pull a muscle. I would choose walking and then sprinting but not jogging esp.long distances. The long distances will wear you down. Sprinting is quick. I walk and then do quick sprints...then walk etc. Look up Dr Sean O'Mara on sprinting. He is the visceral fat MRI guy.
