I’m petite and started working overnight and gained 20 pounds since my job is a computer job. just started back walking and it feels amazing. I walked 3 days per week. 3-4 miles per each day. Well the more I walk when it time to go I always end up doing two or three more laps. It’s such a good feeling u can’t stop. Going to start listening to music during my walks but I love hearing nature the birds see the butterfly’s. It’s amazing. I also walked a lot after giving birth years ago. Also noticed my dreams are very clear and if I set an alarm my body automatically wakes up a minute before the alarm goes off. Crazy how my body knows what time it is while I sleep. Mood is very light and happy 😊 proud of myself

      What benefits have you noticed?

    • @Goodbyeeveryonehere
      @Goodbyeeveryonehere Месяц назад

@@goibby1323I'm not the commenter you responded to but I can tell you the benefits.
I walk 20k steps a day in the form of 2 x 90 minute walks, the first of which is before I eat breakfast.
Along with a calorie deficit (I'm plant exclusive and eat 1500 calories a day and drink only water) I lost 3 dress sizes in 6 weeks dye to walking off the fat. I lost 2 pounds per week before I started walking and still lost 2 pounds every week after I started the walking, so I lost the sizes in inches. In case you aren't aware, 14 pounds tends to equal a size, so the 20k steps a day changed my body to ths extent that it would change if I'd lost 42 pounds in 6 weeks!
When walking, there is a massive sense if peace, due to lowered cortisol levels, and emotionally, I've become bulletproof. Nothing upsets me at all anymore, whereas before the walking, I was very easily upset. The reason for this is that exercise without stopping for at least an hour raises a chemical called Beta Endorphin which amongst other things Is responsible for our self esteem. It is also our brain and body's natural pain killer and puts a blanket between us and both emotional and physical pain.
There are many more benefits of walking, if you like long videos watch Dr rangan chatterjee interview with Shane omara who is a neurosurgeon and professor.

I'm in a mich better mood if I walk my dog first thing in the morning. Love to hear the birds, see nature in the morning light, and breath the fresh air. It's a great time to get a Podcast in or spend time with my family. I at the age of 38 have hip that I need to be careful with so walking suits me best than a workout with a lot of kicking or high leg movements.

I actually cycle everywhere and cycling by the sea is my favourite thing to do most of the year. I do get off and walk a bit with my bike also. July 1st is my birthday. Correction there is a difference between walking outside and inside, indoors that us. All walking is good but outside we also get the benefit of light therapy from daylight and benefits from good fresh air ( more oxygen and negative ions) so outside is better though all exercise of any kind is a benefit there are added benefits from being outside ( treats, SAD, depression, insomnia, in the early morning, sets oir body clock).

Walking is great. Frees the mind , you absorb some infrared rays and vitamin D and move. I will also say that sprinting is very beneficial as well and will reduce visceral fat. Walking is easier of course and more peaceful and you wont pull a muscle. I would choose walking and then sprinting but not jogging esp.long distances. The long distances will wear you down. Sprinting is quick. I walk and then do quick sprints...then walk etc. Look up Dr Sean O'Mara on sprinting. He is the visceral fat MRI guy.

The reason you didn't stick to it was that you will not have noticed a sufficient difference with the small amount you were doing. The brain is always trying to decide whether something is worth the effort. If it doesn't notice a difference, it will give up. You need to do at least an hour of walking, first thing every morning.
That will make you stick to it

On January 5th, 2024, I walked all the way to church since my aunt was sick with a cold and there were no cars available at home. When I was halfway there, my aunt called me and asked me if I was okay. I said, "Yes and I'm almost there." I finally made it to church, even though I was late. I grabbed a bulletin and a card and sat down in the nearest empty pew. My hands were freezing, even though I kept them in my coat pockets. After church, my cousin Joe came up to me and said, "I'm sorry if I missed your calls. I was in church." Then, we all went downstairs to the kitchen to have lunch. When my friend Eleanor saw my salad, she said, "That looks like a yummy lunch." When I was in the bathroom, my other friend Emma, who is also a friend of my mother's, asked me how I got to church. I told her that I walked from my house all the way to church. Emma said, "That's too far, but I'm glad you made it here. Tell Mommy I said hi." I texted Mommy that Emma said hi. During afternoon service, when I was singing a long church song, my mother texted me and said, "Tell Emma that I got a well-paying job and spend hours writing documents." Then, after afternoon service, Joe took his friend Christine to the local nursing home since she is a resident there. Then, I visited Daddy, who is also a resident there. When Joe took Christine to her room, he came to visit Daddy with me. Then, Joe took me home because he saw that I was all tired out from that long walk. Then, my uncle Air took me to night church at my other church

I like to walk for 6 miles, but I do not track step numbers. I also do about 50 pullups, 100 pushups, 100 squats, and some stretching. 70 years of age. Do not use regular drugs or any alcohol. Only eat meat and cruciferous vegetables. Be well. Enjoy your life. After your death you will live again In another body. Yes, reincarnation is a fact. Starts when you inhabit a conceived body. Remember, you are an eternal spirit. You do not have to "travel" from your dead body to your next body. It is as automatic as breathing.

I do pilates reformer almost every day, 6-7 times a week. I love it. When studios (and schools) were closed because of the virus I started walking outside. My daughter had to report to her PE teacher she was doing at least 30 minutes of activity so we walked together for 30 minutes. To be honest I’ve never felt any benefits while walking daily, and that’s why I don’t do it. Not even when walking outside. We have a dog, I’m rarely the one to take her out on walks. When I walk her it’s merely because no else can that particular day and I know it’s important for her. But I don’t feel any benefit whatsoever, so I don’t stick to it. I wish I did.

Your physiology is exactly the same as everybody else's so you'll be getting exactly the same benefits as they do when they walk, irrespective of whether you feel such benefits or not.

You need to walk for a MINIMUM of one hour without stopping (so not with the dog) to raise the chemicals you want to notice.
      90 minutes Is more noticeable.

I don't believe people who say that they walk 10 km and more and lose weight. When I walk such a distance I lose control over my appetite. Normally it's enough walk 7-8 km a day to lose weight gradually.

You eat processed foods. Most people are less hungry when they exercise. I still eat the same amount of meals every day.
I eat vegetables, complex carbohydrates and only drink water.
In 2021 I lost 3 dress sizes in 6 weeks eating 1500 calories of these foods and walking 10 miles every day.
The lack of control over your diet is the type of foods you eat. Serotonin is our self control and all processed foods, lower it. Nor eating carbs (meat and only vegetables diet) lacks serotonin too. Serotonin is also responsible for sleep. Which is why the meat only or meat and veg only dieters have insomnia. There's no Serotonin.

You won't lose weight unless you cut calories as well. It's not possible. If you eat the amount of calories suggested for your weight without wanting to lose weight, you won't lose weight. If you found you did, you could just up your food amounts.

i do 15000 steps a day. thats 1 hour in one direction, than pause for 15 minutes, than reverse another 60 minutes. 60 minutes equals 3600 seconds, that means in 3600 seconds i pass, 1.5 meter per second, or 2 steps per one second. thats 7200 steps in one direction. with regard to the calories, thats 0.04 calories per one step, or 40 calories per 1000 steps or, 600 calories per 15000 steps. in 7 days you could loose up to 2 kilograms of weight. plus, never eat after the walking, never, the metabolism kicks in and it cuts off hundreds of grams of fat.
