This was stupid. The CGI is not enough to make it good. I think I've figured it out though. DC is super heroes trying to act like people which is not very dramatic but Marvel is people having to deal with super powers more or less....which is just more fun.
Great visuals. Even Amber is not that irritating if you really focus on her cleavage only. Luckily they made it easy for us.

Jason Momoa specifically requested actor Temuera Morrison (Momoa is a long-time admirer) for the role of Aquaman's father, Tom Curry. It was also important to Momoa (who is of Native Hawaiian/Polynesian heritage) to have an actor who was also an islander (Morrison is from New Zealand and is Maori) to play the role. This is also partly why he was cast in "Moana" (2016); all the main cast voice actors have either Native Hawaiian, Polynesian, or Maori heritage. 🏝🎬

she's from xebel royals, they can water bend and create air pocket which means they knew how air works
It’s clever that they made Atlantean have eyes that can adjust to the darkness of the ocean depths. Like… it helps the us (viewers) see the environment vividly and also a good explanation for how Atlanteans navigate. This was my gripe against the dark look of Talokan (in Black Panther).
DC’s Atlantis > Talokan
I mean the only issue is, that it's clear that it's a cgi fest. Talokan actually looked like a city underwater, the use of vibranium to make an artifical sun, lit up the environment enough for us the viewer to see (even though at the depths of the ocean we shouldn't be able to) but then at the same time we're still underwater with talokan. With atlantis, it's a neon night club.
I know that Talokan and Atlantis are fictional places in Marvel and DC, but Talokan feels more real. If there's really an actual underwater civilization, it would look closer like Talokan. Atlantis looked like a purely CGI spectacle. Nothing about it felt real or personal. The competition isn't even close.
@@xongaming4456 Y’all didn’t get my point. For sure, if seen through normal eyes, Atlantis would be a dull/dark place (which apparently is your basis for making the place feel real). I was emphasizing the eyes of Atlanteans adapting to the dark so much so that the dark ocean depths lit up like neon lights.

Maybe Atlantis didn't feel personal because they didn't really put enough focus on it. They were more focused on Aquaman's story.
Black manta is probably considered to be Aquaman's arch enemy and in the Comics even causes the death of Aquaman's son.

Yeah facts, also to be a hero you gotta be more then “oh he was about to kill you doesn’t matter if his dad is about to die.” Like what, What would Cap do in that situation? (True he could kill black manta but then again, not a great quality hero move who would go above and beyond).

I think you’re over criticizing the writing. Most lines are quite simple and predictable, but very real and motivating, especially the conversation Arthur has with his mom. And the ‘stare’ acting is not even that bad, it gives the audience a strong sense of direction and intensity which the character gives off in either the fighting scene or the emotional scene

As a DC fan, he is correct. Like i love this movie, its one of my favorites personally in the genre but he is absolutely correct abt how the writing is a bit too silly in some scenes, especially w how it just jumps btwn serious and goofy. Also yeah their relationship also felt a lot more forced when compared to steve and diana (which was absolutely perfect imo. The stares i agree with, those do help portray emotion

can’t tell you the elation I felt after going into this movie with 0 expectations. It’s better than good, grand and cheesy in all the perfect ways. Incredibly interactive and staged camera work along with an outrageously good sfx dealing with underwater and convincing brutal movement. The 3rd act is an incredible cgi fest that earns the respect of the relationships that we’re built up over the film. I don’t know if this film was a happy accident in dcs line up or the team just understood the vision but got damn
Yeah sure I gotta say her best performance was on the stand, like her delivery of her dog stepping on a bee is breathtaking.

This movie is amazing. The best DCEU movie they made so far and the most successful one. Love Julie Andrews in this movie. Also I bought the chemistry here between the two. I liked the acting.
He played Kal Drogo in season 1 of Game of Thrones. He just stole every scene he was in. He barely even spoke in it, but damn did he have presence. He got cast as Aquaman within a year.

Every time I watch this movie I am constantly surprised with how amazing the visuals and fight scenes are.
Finally someone else who finds how melodramatic the opening Black Manta scene is lmao. I always found the death hilarious not sad at all

I forgot that Amber Turd is in this movie and hopefully most of her scenes were cut from Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom, which will be the last film in the DCEU, along with Shazam And The Fury Of The Gods, The Flash and Blue Beetle, before everything will be rebooted.
What’s interesting about this movie is the best action sequences take place out of the water 😂.
Every scene where they fight in those cool suits is awesome to watch. It works because they used real stunt people instead of just cgi monster fighting the whole movie.
Without getting into the trial stuff, I can't believe she watched herself in this movie and thought: 1) She deserved more money. 2) That her acting in it was fine. 3) That weird fluctuating accent wasn't a thing. 4) And the chemistry was fine. 5) That she deserved more screen time in the 2nd one b/c of this 'performance.' There is only one movie that I have seen where I thought her acting was giving what the role wanted and that was All the Boys Love Mandy Lane.
Love Jason Momoa, he's such an adorable Teddy Bear. This is one of the few DC Live action movies that I liked. Now, the DC animation has always been great with a few outliers.

The reason why the hairstyle of Dafoe changes, because he wasn't even in the Whedon cut. So they didn't changed it in aquaman, that is the "original" stye.

Black manta is from the comics and cartoons he is one of the coolest enemies of aqua man so that's why they are putting so much attention on him in this movie

jason momoa was in conan the barbarian film from 2011 that was the first time i was introduced to him as an actor then i watched him again as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones and now Aquaman.
I heard behind the scenes amber had bad chemistry with everyone so they had to edit it so it made it look like they had good chemistry with her.

You may have heard otherwise, but what I heard was, not that she had BAD chemistry, but instead she had NO chemistry, so that's why much of her appearance comes off as wooden.

Black Manta is like the joker to the batman, he's aquamans nemesis in the comics
Black Manta's a major Aquaman villain, but more importantly his kid is a relatively new and very popular character. They were probably playing the long game. I guess if Momoa's Aquaman survives the reboot they might still pay it off.
Also, the action scenes in this movie are legit in their own league. It's kind of a shame that the movie isn't really worthy of them.
Gunn gonna reboot everything and everyone.

I can't help but feel like Black Manta looks like a enemy from the 90's Power Ranger tv show. I actually think they did a great job with Aquaman's suit, they still kept it the same color and in many ways the same but they just made it look cooler.
Happy new year everyone, while walking home from my friends house I found a man in his seventies who fell over a wall into a bush. Thankfully not seriously injured but how my friend and I pulled him out I do not know. Got him home and will check on him tomorrow but how mad is that?! It’s really cold, he could have frozen to death. Random comment I know but I thought the video would help me relax and I have nobody else awake to talk to😅

Aquaman was a fun film and visually stunning. But in their attempt to de-Snyder DC, WB and Geoff Johns made James Wan lighten the tone and palette to be more like Marvel, which is unfortunate because it made some of the dramatic elements seem overly campy. For me though, the worst part was Amber Heard. I didn't know at the time how horrible a person she is, but I found her acting terrible to the point it was distracting and taking me out of the film. Plus after seeing Chris Pine and Gal Gadot together, it's so obvious that Heard and Momoa have ZERO chemistry.
Has this guy just not seen a movie in his life? How is every single movie on his channel a 'FIRST TIME' reaction when so many of these films are popular classics to mainstream films. Like, I can't believe he's never seen any of these films until recently

The monster was basically the Krakken, also many DC movies including this one now may have post credits. (I know Shazam and WW84 and The Suicide Squad and Black Adam do have one for sure, not sure about the rest). You missed the one in this movie by the way!

It’s so much harder to appreciate this now with everything we now know about miss Amber, but before we found out how crazy all that shit was everything actually worked well on this film. Like… C’mon now there’s a dramatic stare in most of the films we watch and even the script is pretty good. It’s just easier to pick apart now😂 I guess the one good thing about about resetting the whole DCEU is that recasting Amber Heard will be a much easier decision 😂
First saw Jason Momoa as a kid on Baywatch, loved his character in Stargate Atlantis. Liked him in the films Conan and Braven.

Aquaman events happen after the events of Zack Snyder's Justice League. Mera actually mentions the encounter with Steppenwolf to Arthur. At the end of ZSJL. Aquaman leaves Mera & Vulko on the beach before going to visit his Dad.

DC really did seem to favor horror directors- James Wan did this & Conjuring; Shazams' director David F Sandberg did Lights Out & a bunch of horror shorts.
ye, Warner Bros hires these directors and makes them do a movie that is not in their specialty, then wonder why the movies is not what they're expecting. Like James Wann or Zack Snyder, they specialize in the dark types of movies, but Warner Bros always interfere and wants them to copy the Marvel formula, like srsly? lol always ending up flopping and remaking again

Up until the point this movie came out, it was definitely the best DCEU movie. At least in my opinion. Shazam soon after dethrones it as an even better movie again in my personal opinion.
The snydercut is not canon, and in JL movie (2017) Vulko doesn't appear, so he didn't change his hair
