I’m an environment designer & US IP attorney, and I want you to know that this video was very well done. You’ve really got a good grasp on the principles. Our copyright office is not currently allowing the user of the AI program to be considered the author simply because they use the program. Instead, they must make a substantial artistic contribution, eg, basically change the artwork into a new artwork. This is the right decision and is important for protecting artist jobs. Unfortunately the artists being harmed most are those who are beginners or taking small commission work online. Book covers, collectible cards & small budget games concept art jobs are going away
Thank you so much for your feedback! It really means a lot to me coming from an actual IP attorney. Since it's not my specialty whatsoever, I am always anxious that I got things wrong. And yeah, for the small, independent artists it's becoming quite hard...
Thank you! I'm not really surprised about that though. It's a very over-saturated video topic, and the algorithm prefers more sensationalist videos by larger channels.
I haven’t finish the video yet, I’m at 54:00 and all the info so far have been very clear and well explained I feel I can share this video as an intro to what is happening with AI image generation and other concerns to look on Thank you for taking your time scripting, searching and sharing
1:01:05 - The preediction you mention here is basically what I've been telling everyone for the last couple of month. I'm just surprised that you're the first person who came with that prediction as well. And I've watched probably way over a hundred of videos of people talking about AI Art.
Also, the Cuphead example reminded me of the "Loving Vincent" movie where every single frame was hand painted by an actual artist. And yeah, similar thing would've probably been possible with CGI filters but I think no one would find it that impressive. Have you seen that movie?
Yeah, I also haven't found that argument anywhere in the various discussions. No idea how large the "human-made" factor will be in the future, but I'm pretty sure it won't be zero. And thank you for the movie suggestion! I haven't seen it, but I'll put it on my to-watch list. It seems quite impressive! Must have taken a tremendous amount of work!
I think I’m an ideal world, technology will be used to aid the human race as a whole, but that’s not our reality. Each new technological advancement only threatens people’s lively hoods in taking away their source of income and what’s likely a craft they’ve spent a big portion of their lives practicing. And the intent of replacing these workers is to save on money. It’s a greedy world we live in and companies will do anything they can get away with.
I believe your interpretation of the fourth factor of fair use is incorrect. Typically this factor applies to an excerpt of an existing work included in another work, such as a quote, clip, still, etc., not the capacity of the artist to create a product. You might be able to argue in regards to a work the artist has already produced, but then it becomes more about the amount used, which would likely count based on the model, not the training data.
Thank you for your input. The legal aspect of all of this is very convoluted and unclear, especially concerning Fair Use, so I appreciate any constructive feedback.
That’s okay, we’re dealing with novel territory, so I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that the interpretation I gave wouldn’t apply here, but it just doesn’t seem likely based on prior precedent. I’m hoping one of the major legal channels here will tackle it soon.
Can u do videos like the cat ones but with dogs i think it would do great and help a lot of ppl like me and make a one with basic anatomy for the most common dog types then do more of the breeds, moods, position u dont have to but i like to draw animals and the cat ones helped A LOT and i love ur channel keep on going u r going to become a big channel someday i know it u r doing great
And the other tutorials on youtube arent really that good bc most of them r cartoon style or hyper realistic and i want that same style u had on the cat videos that kind of semi realisim and none of them have many breeds bc i dont want to draw only golden retriver so if u have time and want to do that please do it (sry for my bad english) have a amazing day or night luv u ❤
I am not taking requests for tutorials, but eventually I will make tutorials about dogs. It's not very high on my priority list, I do have to say though. Glad to read that you liked my cat tutorials!
If digital art gets so trashed over AI the rise of traditional media will make a come back...which will increase the income of soghtt after artists...this could lead to a full circle...
It's a curse, and nothing but a curse. When you have artists quitting because an AI stole their art work for profit, that is where any and all illusions of AI being a "blessing" are lit on fire and thrown into a sidewalk for public display. It's made worse when you discover that real life child porn has been conformed to be used in the training of these AI programs. There are parents out there that are terrified that their children will have their family photos be used by some sick fuck to create child pornography, and I would be to if I had kids.
personally i dont really care about the industry. its forcing artist to produce derivative crap they dont really care about (just look at all the isakais thats constantly being released and has been doing so for the last 10 years). im all for killing the industry. what worries me is the commission and patron artists market where people were able to create unique niche content they cared about for a living.
I agree that there is a lot of repetitive stuff out there. I also get bored of certain themes and designs that get regurgitated over and over. But the "industry" is very broad and covers all sorts of areas, including indie studios that make some really cool and creative stuff. So let's not generalize.

That's such a great vid but surprised by the low views!
Thank you!

Yeah, that unfortunately is our reality...
Of course it's not all black or white, but there will, and already are, serious complications and threats.
