Mar Mari is a disciple of Jesus Christ and knows Him intimately and His love for Christ is undeniable. But coming from an Orthodox background he is veiled in some things. The Bible is crystal clear about Christ being sole mediator between us and God. Nowhere in the Bible will you find any believers praying for anything through other believers. And there is no verse spoken by Christ or apostles that would indicate otherwise. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 - New Living Translation (NLT) 5 For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity-the man Christ Jesus.

Jesus said he did not come to do away with the law, but to fulfill them. Please give us 1 quote from the Bible to support your point. The only intercession the Bible talks about is Christ as our Heavenly Advocate. There is no mention of any other saints interceding. We the living may intercede for others but I dont see anything in the Bible about how dead saints could intercede for us here. And especially in relation to our sins being forgiven. Only Christ can forgive us our sins and we have to come directly to Him. For sure noone else has this power. Whether dead or living. If Christ does not forgive us, how could the saints change His decision? And if He forgives us, what's the use to ask the saints for their intercession?

Instead, sometimes we fall into sin. And I don't mean, just a small thing. Sometimes, we backslide and get caught up in our own desires. WE sepparate ourselves from Him, and consequently, we pray for things that are against His will. So because we ask wrongly and are living outside His will, He doesn't incline to listen to such a request. But instead, He prepare grace for when we decide to come back and ask for it. (Isaiah 59:1-2, James 4:3) So, obviously, if we ask for forgiveness, He hears us. But HEARING and APPROVING are two different things. My point is: The scriptures asks us to pray for each other (James 5:16). It also says, God is the God of the LIVING, not the dead. (Matthew 22:32) and that nothing sepparates us from the love of God, including natural death (Romans 8:38) It also says, when He appears, we shall be like Him (1 John 3:2) So we become partakers in HIS divine life. We won't just be some mortal humans in heaven, bound by earthly limitations. The scripture says we become new creations when we're born again! John, in Revelation, was able to see a multitude of all trides and languages and understood what they were saying. Only God can do that, and it only happened because God made it possible for John to do this (Revelation 7:9-10) Why are we now so closed minded to believe He can't do this with us? Especially when there's no references to that thought in the Bible. But instead, we see scriptures like Revelation 5:8 that shows angels presenting the prayers of the saints here on earth. Sure God knows everything, but yet, still, angels bring Him prayers. It's not for us to judge, only to accept and act accordingly. This way of thinking, by the way, has only become popular in the last 300 some years. Even Martin Luther himself had a devotion to Our Lady. There's a reason why people find comfort in knowing our recently passed loved ones are "watching over us." Not because they're just some weirdo's watching us from heaven with muted ear drums incapable of understanding whats going on...no because we will care about those on earth. Just like He does. And we won't stop praying for those we love here on earth or stop caring just because we're with Him. Because HE DOESN'T STOP CARING! He loves all of us, so when we get up there with Him, we'll care even more. So that Jesus' very words will be fufilled, in Luke 15:7. That we'll see when sinners repent, and when God sends His grace and mercy into people's hearts, and all of heaven will rejoice! I've had some doubts about the guy before, from a teaching that I cant even remember. However I do know that I figured it out and my faith got stronger. If you have any doubts about him and his teachings then actually research and find out the truth and not just listen to everything you hear. If ya'll were wise then you'd know we are currently being deceived and that the devil and his peons are doing everything they can to trick you and ruin your faith etc... Mar Mari is a disciple of Jesus Christ and knows Him intimately and His love for Christ is undeniable. But coming from an Orthodox background he is veiled in some things. The Bible is crystal clear about Christ being sole mediator between us and God. Nowhere in the Bible will you find any believers praying for anything through other believers. @-Thelordismyshepherd- I was being sarcastic. God knows all, is in all, and is everywhere. Our sin doesn't make Him INCAPABLE of hearing our prayers. He can do all things. Instead, sometimes we fall into sin. And I don't mean, just a small thing. Sometimes, we backslide and get caught up in our own desires. WE sepparate ourselves from Him, and consequently, we pray for things that are against His will. So because we ask wrongly and are living outside His will, He doesn't incline to listen to such a request. But instead, He prepare grace for when we decide to come back and ask for it. (Isaiah 59:1-2, James 4:3) So, obviously, if we ask for forgiveness, He hears us. But HEARING and APPROVING are two different things. My point is: The scriptures asks us to pray for each other (James 5:16). It also says, God is the God of the LIVING, not the dead. (Matthew 22:32) and that nothing sepparates us from the love of God, including natural death (Romans 8:38) It also says, when He appears, we shall be like Him (1 John 3:2) So we become partakers in HIS divine life. We won't just be some mortal humans in heaven, bound by earthly limitations. The scripture says we become new creations when we're born again! John, in Revelation, was able to see a multitude of all trides and languages and understood what they were saying. Only God can do that, and it only happened because God made it possible for John to do this (Revelation 7:9-10) Why are we now so closed minded to believe He can't do this with us? Especially when there's no references to that thought in the Bible. But instead, we see scriptures like Revelation 5:8 that shows angels presenting the prayers of the saints here on earth. Sure God knows everything, but yet, still, angels bring Him prayers. It's not for us to judge, only to accept and act accordingly. This way of thinking, by the way, has only become popular in the last 300 some years. Even Martin Luther himself had a devotion to Our Lady. There's a reason why people find comfort in knowing our recently passed loved ones are "watching over us." Not because they're just some weirdo's watching us from heaven with muted ear drums incapable of understanding whats going on...no because we will care about those on earth. Just like He does. And we won't stop praying for those we love here on earth or stop caring just because we're with Him. Because HE DOESN'T STOP CARING! He loves all of us, so when we get up there with Him, we'll care even more. So that Jesus' very words will be fufilled, in Luke 15:7. That we'll see when sinners repent, and when God sends His grace and mercy into people's hearts, and all of heaven will rejoice! That doesn't happen because we can't hear or see whats happening on earth. In short, my desire for God to work in people's lives doesn't stop because I'm with Him in heaven; because HIS desire is to save everyone! God can do anything He wants. Including enjoying us praying for people in a limited way while we're on earth, and an unlimited way in heaven. I was being sarcastic, my apologies. I believe God hears the prayers of everyone. Because God is in all things, He's everywhere, knows all things, and can do all things. He's omnipresent omnipotent and omniscient. However, the Bible also talks about a reality where He turns His ear away from those who are perishing (Psalm 66:18) and even those who have chosen to turn away from His commandments and follow after their own desires. (Proverbs 28:9) That our separation from Him causes Him to hide His face from us, so that He chooses not to listen to certain prayers. (Isaiah 59:1-2) Does this mean that He wouldn't then turn around and give eternal life to those same people if they're then crying out for His mercy? Yes of course He would! "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9) His GRACE is what saves us. (Ephesians 2:8-9) through faith, not works, if we just repent and trust in His Divine Mercy! A better translation would be, we become a new species. We become sons and daughters of God. Who is divine. We take on a part of His divine life. It comes from Him. This is why Jesus said we'd be able to do greater signs than the ones He even did! (John 14:12-14) because the Holy Spirit now dwells within the hearts of those who believe in Him. (Romans 8:9) Thats why the prayers of the followers of Christ are powerful. And even more than that, lets face it, there are those who get closer to Him than others. There are those who commit more, who sacrifice more, who obtain more discipline in thier spiritual life and have aligned their physical dicision making accordinging and live holy lives. This could be lay people or religious. Those prayers, of those righteous people are VERY powerful! And they have great outcomes. (James 5:16) Now, does that mean they're just goodie goods who are holier than thou? Of course not, that's actually opposite of what a saint is. A saint is a believer in Christ who is working out their salavation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12-13) Someone after God's own heart. And the closer we get to someone we love, the more we want to conform our lives to what they like and what they want. Well God's love is a consuming fire and transforms the most hardened of sinners, like myself..and turns them into goo lol! I love Jesus, thank You for Your mercy! Anyways, my point is, if God wants us to pray here on earth for each other (James 5:16), because we're in this spiritual battle of good and evil to the salvation of souls. To bring as many people to Him as possible and get closer to Him and conform our lives to His will, why would we then, after we die, and be like...okay I made it!... And oh! I see You Jesus, I see you fighting all these battles for those people on earth down there...I see it, and I know I was just praying for those people yesterday to get through this hard time in their lives..and I see You working...but..I'm gonna just kick back and chill.. No man..We're all in this together. We're the branches and He's the vine. This is why The Church calls the saints on earth, the Church Militant. They call the saints in heaven, the Church Triumphant. There's a reason why when our love ones die, and people comfort you by saying "They're in a better place and they're watching over you." Why? Because they're some weirdo people watching you, with somehow now no way of hearing you, or having any way of helping you? No, it would make more sense, that them being able to watch over you means they're in a position to pray for you if they see you ever needing help. In short, the Communion of Saints is simple. It's our mission, as Christians, to pray. To have a prayer life with God, and to pray for others. And combined, persistent prayers are powerful. The saints the Catholic Church venerate are those who they've declared are in heaven and have confirmed they've been given a special intercessory role in heaven. It's not uncommon for communities of people to push for the cannonization of a saint, only to be rejected because there wasn't enough documented and validated evidence. When the Church officially cannonizes a saint, it is because they've tested everything and have confirmed this special role in the Church Triumphant. But they're no different than us. Just people! Like you and me. However, they're prayer warriors! I know you know a few here on earth! I know a few old ladies who will pray people into prison, only so God can finally save them! lol! I was being sarcastic, my apologies. I believe God hears the prayers of everyone. Because God is in all things, He's everywhere, knows all things, and can do all things. He's omnipresent omnipotent and omniscient. However, the Bible also talks about a reality where He turns His ear away from those who are perishing (Psalm 66:18) and even those who have chosen to turn away from His commandments and follow after their own desires. (Proverbs 28:9) That our separation from Him causes Him to hide His face from us, so that He chooses not to listen to certain prayers. (Isaiah 59:1-2) Does this mean that He wouldn't then turn around and give eternal life to those same people if they're then crying out for His mercy? Yes of course He would! "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9) His GRACE is what saves us. (Ephesians 2:8-9) through faith, not works, if we just repent and trust in His Divine Mercy! The only blood that will wash all sin as we repent is the blood of Jesus. Saints are irrelevant to anyone’s salvation.
Whether that person is alive on earth or have departed, should not make a difference since we believe that the departed are not dead but are alive; for the Holy Scriptures says, "I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living" (Mt 22:32).
