- Retrospective Scooters in London have spent over 5 years perfecting their DIY conversion kits for classic scooters. It's a reversible, no cutting or drilling job so you don't have to harm your vintage machine in the process.
Retrospective boss, Niall gives us the lowdown on the latest kit. Авто/Мото
Great for town riding ...makes complete sense really with Ulez zones that will no doubt be common place in most big cities
Niall & the boys have done something fantastic here not only leading the way in Future Scootering, But keeping Vintage on the road and making them Reliable and way faster than petrol and most importantly literally the epitome of MOD which is Modernism, which means to be Mod and laways at the front of the leading edge never following or copying
Fascinating. Love businesses like these, all the best to them !
Keep them coming Niall
Clean well put together functional design 👍
well done
Progress indeed so a thumbs up from me!
I would love to see a wheel change tutorial. How hard will it be?
A detailed and full tutorial for the px model would also be great (:
Genius invention, only down side is the range
And the cost .....
🎉
Will it do 100 miles at 80 mph and take 3 minutes to recharge?
You have for Honda metropolitan?
hi, what documents are there to be able to circulate in Germany

Are there any possible benefits for keeping the original engine and running it alongside the electric motor 🛵
With this kit you can’t run both. The motor and swinging arm replace it.
Where can I get the conversation kit please

So this works with the 8" wheels?
Yes
With 8" wheel I put a 300x10 tyre on the electric motor and a 400x 8 tyre on the front ,they are both the same diameter so it evens out the slight rise in height , also change the stand toa 10" stand and cut it down a little and I would beef up the front suspesion with tougher spring and damper ( anyway ) Carbone toughened kit is good. it's like converting to 9" wheel and retaining that look of the front wheel .
How about doing a front wheel kit to make a hybrid scooter?
They’ve already done one on a Piaggio moped.
@@ScooterLabUK it would be nice if they could do a kit for a 10 0r 11 inch front wheel scooter. It wouldn't have to be very powerful. 1KW would be a big boost going up hills.
Got to be good if it keeps classics on the road
@John Frazer yes it can its probably the way forward what would you call it then be a shame when fuel runs out of supply just leave in the garage n stair at it 😉 🤔 😜
Why not just add a front motor and keep the gas for more power or more range
He has actually done that on a Piaggio Ciao. The reason these conversions are being done though is because some cities around the world no longer allow 2-strokes in.
Buenas noches que costo tiene el kit?

Four grand ? Dang !
Can't wait to never bother doing this. In fact I think I'll up my two stroke oil to 5% just to offset anyone stupid enough to ruin their scooter this way.
😢
Need a 50kw+ motor then it would be fun and not to slow 65mph with little power is not enough lol need 120mph that can get there super fast 🤪 and power to lift up the front wheel on acselrasion
That's not how electric works, the power is in the battery not the hub motor , I can make a 1 kw motor faster than a 5 kw motor if I used a 96v battery on the 1 kw and a 48v battery on a 5 kw . Also if you have a 10kw,50 kw or 100kw motor then it's no use if you can only tap into 10% of it power ...becasue you don't have the battery big enough to run it to it full potenial. We are all currenrtly on this switch over to electric powered vehicles from our old world of petrol powered vehicles and it's just not a like for like swap.
These electric scooter do have some serious torque , we can turn it up or down on the app and for the purpose of riding them about town in traffic we have them on a sensible setting , they can wheelie but rather not , and I'd really not want to be doing 120 mph on these little wheels . However having said that we are building a Lambretta racer for a bit of fun , correctly set up, it's a 7 kw motor backed up with a 350A controller and runing on a 96v 30ah battery with extra thick battery leads , so that all up a notch from our regualer kits and it'll be intereting to see how that goes , should get right up to 90 mph but we'll see .
@retrospectivescooters7850 oh boy, I'd buy one of those racer kits... please take my money!
useless to the rally going scooterist but a clever idea none the less
Right out of the gate dump the background music. It's not necessary, and I muted you
It’s about 20 seconds for an intro, an electric scooter doesn’t make any noise that you’d want to hear.
No thank you I'd rather use my Lambretta as. Clothes horse
Yeah but your awanker like all lammy owners. Viva Piaggio
Completely lost it's soul 😢
Might aswell have a bicycle
what about a kit for the Honda Ruckus?
