In ‘78 my Dad put a Cummins V-6 turbo in his new Ford. Then he bought a new ‘79 Supercab 4x4 longbed and put in a Turbocharged Isuzu in-line 6. Those were the sweetest trucks ever.
Most incredible talented build I have seen yet. Very involved fabrication skills. Obviously a welder by trade. Had to be thousands of hours in this project. What a beginning to what an end. Perfect.
excellent example of some custom fabrication. Excellent result. I'm not much on lifted trucks, their pretty dumb, but I appreciate the craftsmanship of this build.
O man just had to comment - what a gorgeous and beautiful truck!!!! I thought I loved the obs 7.3 - you just took my breath away!!! So beautifully done buddy!!!! Man!!!
Hello from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷!
cool truck and a great build up, i have a 1975 crewcab truck that i need to start restoring been sitting to long in my carport would love to get this engine, but i might have to get a gas engine for it, don't have to much money to start with, thanks for posting this awesome build of your truck!!
That claim is disproven 5 seconds into this video. The truth is that all Ford trucks had narrow frames and in-cab gas tanks right up until the government forced them to move the tank, that happened halfway through the 1977 model year.
How much? I want one. The Ford's from 73 to 79 look so damn good. I had a 78 f250 4x4 before it got stolen. Never got it back. The 67 to72 are nice to but I have a soft spot for the 78s. Very nice build.
Is the truck completely finish? I was wanting to see more pics of the interior and overall walk around of the truck. Seems like I got short change!..lol Sweet truck and great craftsmanship!
Your work is flawless, very nearly to the point of blending completely in. Much or it replicates a factory job. Your talents are obvious even though your work is (unfortunately) not. It is said hard work is it's own reward, sadly there is little succor in that. Mike
That's a '73-'75 model '67-'72 had the same body style with the outside v-shape then changed to that body style through '79 the grill was that style '73-'75 then changed again '76-'77 and again '78-'79 with the headlights changing from round to rectangle in late '78
it's hard to tell what it is I have a 77 highboy with behind the seat gas tank and it's motor and suspension parts are 78 it was built nov 77 i have a round headlight 78 too both of them have alot off out of yr model changes. but yep the body is 73 to 79 grill could be any of those yr models he prolly did what i did to anther 77 i own it has a 74 grill because that 's what i could find for cheap at the time
I have a 97 f250 extended cab long bed, I was trying to source out a crew cab short bed but I found mine for sale right up the road from me, and only having 75k original miles I couldn't pass it up. But now my question is. Is it possible to do a crew cab short bed swap on that frame? I was told no but I would love your feedback on this subject. And if it's possible I will gladly send you my truck to be worked on.
I am a Ford man from birth until I die Cummins is not the best engine but it's okay that being said the divorced transfer case is a good idea and going through it and rebuilding it even better a crew cab 250 is okay I would have like to seen a 350 dually 4 by 4 the color sucks a baby shit green but most importantly as a CNC machinist working in a structural steel Fab shop I would not trust one single weld on that pick up and I call it a pickup because the frame and the weld work will not hold up to a true Ford the transmission is a good choice and divorced rto 6610 pick up some welding skills or take it to a real weld shop and you got a real truck
Jesse Dias But they're not dropping a dodge engine into a Ford either. I would say that makes it fair game. I'd go with the cummins, far better track record. I dealt with those 7.3s back in the day and they didn't leave a real good taste in my mouth. They may have been better than the 6.2/ 6.5 gm's but I don't know by how much. And you're right, nice build. Those old Ford crewcabs are tough to find. Hope it works out.

She's a tank! Looks awesome.
Good
That thing is an absolute monster. Too bad ford doesn't build thier trucks this solid anymore.
Awesome work! Love to daily drive that.
Such a nice truck! Should have a 7.3 tho
Serviço lindo , um luxo parabens!!!
'73, "Dent Side".
Beautiful classic truck 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That's a beautiful truck
Damn, I got an old man hard on looking at this freaking truck, I have a 94 f2504x4 lifted. But I wont drive it in the snow, it's rust free also!!
that's alot of time and $$$$$ crazy as it is .good job.looks alsome
It's a sixth gen truck. 1973-79. This one isn't newer than 1977½ though, that's when they moved the gas tank from behind the seat.
Ken MacMillan crew cabs never had in cab tanks only high boys because they had a narrow frame.
That claim is disproven 5 seconds into this video. The truth is that all Ford trucks had narrow frames and in-cab gas tanks right up until the government forced them to move the tank, that happened halfway through the 1977 model year.
my 74 crew has in cab tank.
I'm not a big ford fan but nice build. hopr the truck works good for yeah. Cheers.

I never seen a ford truck with a dodge ran motor in a ford... Buts this a lot easier to work on
Very nice ride job well done I'm sure all your hard work will pay off looks amazing buddy
Nice! Same setup as my 78!
Good looking truck. I aint crazy bout them gauges though!!!
Spectacular
Beautiful truck amazing 👌👌👌
That's badass

Mike
love my 1974 f250 super cab and the build but sad to say my motor just took a crap time to swap it
Beautiful job thanks for sharing 👍
Es perfecta y hermosa :)
OLD SCHOOL IRON.
All that great work on a beautiful truck and then you follow it up with a s*@tty looking bumper. Stock would have looked better.
Nice build.
Dude .....sweeeeet ride
That's not a 1970.. it's a 1973 or 1974
Willard 26 exactly was gonna comment same thing that is no bump side
I wish i had a truck like that
Bad ass🏁
That's a '73-'75 model '67-'72 had the same body style with the outside v-shape then changed to that body style through '79 the grill was that style '73-'75 then changed again '76-'77 and again '78-'79 with the headlights changing from round to rectangle in late '78
It's real nice, how much HP?
Nies work man
it's hard to tell what it is I have a 77 highboy with behind the seat gas tank and it's motor and suspension parts are 78 it was built nov 77 i have a round headlight 78 too both of them have alot off out of yr model changes. but yep the body is 73 to 79 grill could be any of those yr models

Depends also on the wheel base
Where did you get those gauges?
What rims are those ?
You can't sneak anything by die hard Ford guys. First thing I saw was dent side. Nice truck anyways.
Dónde puedo hacer mi troca 87 como esa esta muy bonita
I was going to say they didn't start that body style till 1973
Should have put a built 6.0 in there Just as reliable as a Cummins Doesn't sound like a tractor and a rice burner mated
That's a dent side
Why is everyone calling for a 7.3L? If someone wanted to go IH then get what the OBS's should've got in the first place, DT360.
What's the song that starts at 11:44
You are off on the year Budd
Thats not a 1970 crew cab. That is a 73-75 f250 highboy crew cab
Nice job but would have went with 7.3
Nice but I think 7.3 have enough power. ...it's ford
It’s not a 1970 ford truck it’s a mid 70s, the early 70s were a bumpside, and the later years it was a dent such as this truck
That's not a 1970. It's body style is from '74-'79.
Jed Clampett it’s definitely a 73-74 from the grille
.yea Jed.is 1974 to.79
Jed is right, this truck is a dent side,it’s supposed to be a bump side
You are %100 correct Justin. My first was a 74. As soon as our house is finished I get to bring it back home after 23 years. I'm counting the days!
It's anywhere from a 73 to a 75. They used the same grill those three years. Most definitely not a 70 though. 👍
Bababababaaad bad to the bone
Got bored of that video. However, glad you never used the power joke 7.3
Mr Fix-it Cummins builds are boring
Why a Cummings and not a 7.3 powerstroke though?
Jesse Dias why not? It's not a dodge engine . probably easier to find a healthy cummins than a 7.3.
Greg just to stick with "ford" even though its a international motor lol but dam what a nice truck im a Chevy guy but thats a nearly
Greg I agree the Cummings are awsome
Fyi Cummins were available in ford F450 and up. I can't remember what year that stopped though.
Definitely not a 1970. Probably a 1973 F250 HD with long wheel base and the side spare tire door
How much to build me one? 8)
How is that a 70'? It's a dent side, 73 to 79' NOT a dimple side 67 to 72, get your shit together.
Not a 1970 , 73 or later
Not a 70
Too long of a video. Lost interest.
The Truck is okay,,,the video sucks.
