I did the same with my 67 C20. Complete tear down. Rebuilt the original in line 6. Cut frame down for short bed full cab insulation. It's the quietist and cleanest the ole farm truck has ever been.
I did not see Boom-mat or Dyna-mat before carpeting all over the cab interior...???..John Aylward from "Derelic'car restoration explains,he even puts in on the ceiling, door insides,fire-wall,etc,etc.....With proper bushings, you feel like driving a new Rolls.....I will definitely do this on my VOLVO V40 project with V70 T5 turbo engine.....Insulation(noise/heat/cold)is, I think is a must for a A to Z build....Use de fact that you start with a raw shell(easy access) to add a maximum of "goodies".
Absolutely beautiful! I'm not biased but what makes me mad is you cant do this with a dodge because nobody makes parts for them! LMC does have some parts but not enough for a full on restoration!
I don't understand why all these people cut up a nice long bed instead of just starting with a short bed to begin with in the first place if that's what you want so badly. Other than that the truck came out nice.

Nothing more relaxing than watching something come to life. Great work.
