    Steering wobble, back wheel chatter and an engine that wants nothing to do with part throttle or rpm. This has to be the best video showing what old school, brilliant bikes were like. I've given it a like because it won't let me give it a love.
    Absolutely stunning bike and ride.

    My farther and his buddy once nearly missed a ferry because they kept listening to this engine roaring around a race track for too long. Given how punctual my farther was, this is the greatest compliment in the universe.

    • @wiznortonracing

      Three radiators- one up front and one on each side of the engine. Not enough room for a big radiator across the front!

    • @Desmodromic916
      @Desmodromic916 6 лет назад

      Prob. the one of the reason is less fuel in cylinder that cools the piston and chamber.

    • @Valynbrown
      @Valynbrown 6 лет назад

      Also because in a rotary, there's never a "cool down" period in between cycles for the chamber. "There's always a fire burning" is the old saying for them

    That rotary really sounds glorious, thanks for sharing. Just a question regarding the temperature readings. If you could possibly hold a temp steady, what would it be, regarding this engine's characteristics? Because I couldn't look away from that dial and thinking "they are running it way too hot". But then again, what do I know?

    anyone know what the lcd readout is for on the right?

    • @wiznortonracing
      @wiznortonracing  7 лет назад +2

      Jas ward The LCD readout on the right is air temperature as it leaves the engine. There is an air cooling system using exhaust gas speed. Generally the higher the revs, the faster the gas speed, the greater the cooling, which is why it reads a relatively low temperature at high speeds (sulby straight) and the rises under braking

    Is it just me, the Norton rotary doesn't sound that different to a hi revving inline 4 bike engine in this on bike vid, apart from low revs and that decel stutter, and slight whine on decell, when you hear something like a tuned up Mazda rotary engined drag race car, the sound is night and day different to an inline 4 or V8, but it seems less so with this. but all in all it would be good to have rotaries back in bike racing, to have some variety.
