J'adore Daniel's Joik, I am free, My home is my heart, et ce bel hommage aux victimes d'UTOYA.
This tune is a Jojk. It is a mourning song he composed after he found his best friend Daniel dead one morning. He was born in Columbia, and was adopted by the Sami people of Northern Sweden among whom he lives and works. He won the Sweden's got Talent competition, starting with this durge.
I wonder how that came about anyway. The Sami going that far away to a completely different place to adopt a child. I always sort of imagined they kept to themselves o.o
@@dillonvoisin349 Not unusual in Sweden if for some reason you couldn't have biological children. I have many friends that were adopted from other continents and friends whose children are from other continents. Jon Henrik has two sisters who were also adopted from far away. By the way, he didn't find his friend dead. He spoke to him on the phone an hour before his friend died.
He didn't find his friend dead. That is not correct. His friend had died and he went to visit his house and while there developed this joik. That is how he tells the story.
Eu descobri recentemente que minha ancestralidade nasce do povo Sámi. Nunca entendi nossas carinhas fofinhas e olhinhos diferentes alguns menores outros estreitinhos... a discrição natural das coisas e o recato natural "meio afastadinho sabe" rs. E o carisma da minha gente guerreira daqui, "trabalhadores" certinhos... Agora entendo e admiro.
