Fishing spots like that are where the best memories are made growing up. No worries about the likes of me horning in on your guys' prime spot, Levi. It'd take a while for me to get across the ocean... What with me constantly going "take a step, come up for air, take a step, come up for air, dodge the shark, come up for air..."
Chip off the old block buddy, you should be proud 😊 Not that many teenagers are doing what you are able.. You make it look easy to catch Trout. ( just don't give the river away next time. ) 😁 Good job mate, very inspiring for your Gen.. Keep it up..😉
Great stuff young fella 👍. If you haven't already, go and get yourself a decent pair of polarised glasses...you won't believe the difference they make. See ya on the next one 😊
Beautiful job Will! You have a wicked cast! Amazing! Love of the Outdoors like Dad! I fly fish here in California, many thanks for taking me along on your adventure! Dan Brent
Great Vid Will! Love the Slightly Stoopid, might as well get the copyrighted music in now, before youre monetized! Im sure it wont take you long to hit 1K! Good Luck
Here in Wisconsin USA, we have Brown trout and Rainbow trout. Loved fishing as a lad then started finding Gold and I was hooked. The salmon are huge but my mate likes the Walley's. Brings back memories of my time with my pops.
Excellent video enjoyed watching, you got great talent from your dad. I’ll get my son to watch your video when he get home from school. I’m sure he will like and I can not drive my car for 2 weeks from my surgery yesterday hope you edit more video soon 😊
Nice job young man. I'm here from your Dad's channel. Only thing I can say is to wet your hands before you pick up the fish if you're not going to keep it. It's better not to remove the fishes slime coat. And I'll be your two hundred and thirty first subscriber.
You make me wanna get my young Lass back out there for some fishing 😁 gotta make the time for it, for sure! Love more opportunities to see the Tassie wilderness, cant get enough of it....just magical 🤗
Great little fishing adventure. Cracking trout at the end of the first day, shame some critter snatched it away. Look forward to seeing more adventure. Cheers
You are in a very important phase of your life. Nice to see you out there doing what you enjoy. When I was your age (i am now 43 and have 3 kids) I went with my passions and it brought me into a great life. So use the time you still have without obligations wisely and enjoy life, you seem to have great parents if they allow you to do stuff like this alone at your age, honor their trust and you will be fine.
Chip off the ol' block there Will - great job with your first RUclips video mate. Pity about the disappearing trout but at least you're out there having an adventure, and that's the real prize. Keep it up 😊
Some nice fish you caught there, especially that big brown. Shame you weren't able to get it back home with you. Brought back memories for me of fishing for trout here in the US. Spent a lot of time on the rivers with my spinning rod and Panther Martin inline spinner. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
You’re a natural Will just like Dad 🥰 Great vid. I’ve learnt more about trout than I ever knew (that’s not much 😂) Darn… eating noodles 🍜 when you could have had that beautiful fresh trout, what a beauty 🎣 Good job Wilbur… so glad you love fishing & nature…. 🤎🧡🤎🧡🤎🧡🤎🧡🤎🧡🤎🧡🤎
Excellent video Will. Can’t wait for the follow ups . Beautiful shots on the scenery too. Maybe you can show us how to smoke some of that beautiful Tasmanian trout in the future. Can’t wait for more 👍
Got into fishing some years ago, i really do enjoy going on fishing/camping adventures and try to go for them atleast twice a year, nothing better than catching and cooking some nice fish with your own hands, its just amazing. I just wish i got into it as young as you, anyway, really liked the video and can't wait for more!
WOOOHOOOO!! Welcome to Will Triffit wild fidhing adventures. Bro you totally smashed it that slob of brown on the end of day one would have been up around 2kg. Pity you didnt get to eat him. Ask Dad to show you how to cook em on a green stick. Lucky critters had a feast those short fin eels would have sniffed it out. Great content Will those under water shots were mad.
Very very nicely done young man. Your dad has taught you well. Now we need to teach you to fly fish for trout. Levi, maybe try & track down Jan Spencer and see if she can take Will under her wing, & teach him to fly cast. Failing that bring him here to me in WA and you two can go after some gold & trout together in my old stomping ground in southwest WA’s Rivers brooks & streams. I’d happily teach him to wave the wand. 👍
@@willtriffitt_official Trout chase spoons, wobblers, spinners & minnow lures & “Tassie devils” (frog imitation) for a few reasons - territorial strikes and also food when they are hungry, so spinning for trout certainly works at times EXCEPT when there’s a super abundance of their other favourite food forms like aquatic insects available. So if there’s a mayfly hatch, Chironomids (midges) damsel flys and dragon flies (mud eyes) or even crustaceans for eg, they will key in on those because they are a better energy equation. They have to chase a lure whereas aquatic insects etc get washed down with the current, so they just have to sit in a low pressure beck eddie behind a rock and swallow the insects larvae down as they feast past. Trout are essentially a bit lazy, they will take the easy way out & when they do, they tend to ignore chasing lures. So fly fishing gives you the opportunity to target trout when they won’t chase lures because they don’t have to.
Hello from Canada. This was a great video! Nice to see a young buck like yourself out enjoying the great outdoors; and youre already a heck of a fisherman to boot. Well done youngster!
Hi will Great video I enjoyed your adventure. Just a shame that something took your fish overnight. Keep up the good work. It’s good to see you doing something you’re passionate about
I fish brook trout the same way. I do wear waders(cold New England water) and so I can kneel when fish can easily see me. My clothes match the colors of surrounding terrain as well. Bigger the fish, the more they stay away, that's why they are the big ones. Pinch the barbs and wet the hands before landing and increase trout survival. Never, ever, stop fishing. One of the best forms of meditation and connecting.
Great video Will , good to see young people out in the bush enjoying themselves ,either just bushwalking or casting a rod especially in that area it’s beautiful country, all the best from another Tassie fisherman
Well done Will, a great time out in the bush, definitely special to spend time camping, fishing in the wild. Also a couple of very nice fish. You have your dads ability to make great vids. Keep up to good work. Cheers Salty Dingo 69
Love your vids man especially this one I live in Queensland I don’t know if you can find fish like that here but can’t wait to see you make another and continue on making great content like your dad
I take a few small green branches, place one in the gut path, then a couple to spread it open and stick the end of the main, in the ground to slowly cook over the fire.
Great video Will, enjoyed watching. That's some pin-point casting! Loved the excitement when you landed that big brownie. Keep the videos coming - looking forward to seeing more of your fishing adventures!
Well done Will. theres some awesome spots in there. I used to fish there in the 90s when i lived in Barrington. Look forward to seeing more from you. Sux to lose that nice fish but i reckon you made some lil devil happy for a while. cheers
Good sht mate! Looks like primo fishing. Cool edit too. It's quite common in nz for people to switch the reel handle to the left side for spinning. Once you get used to it it speeds up your cast and retrieve.
Great Video Will, thanks for sharing. Beautiful fish there, in amazing condition, well done. Great pity that keeper got taken during the night, it would have been kind of special to take it home. At least you have the video for memories. Cheers from the UK
Our secret spots out there now son 😮 nice work my boy 🎉🎉
Pssst did you edit this and teach him as you went?
