I've had this watch for eight years and it's been great, worth every penny and I highly recommend it. However, there are three things that I would do to make this watch better that I would pay extra for: 1. Upgrade the lume to make it brighter and last longer. 2. Upgrade the crystal to make it more scratch resistant. 3. Make the date function larger or delete it altogether. A sort of Casio super duro if they would, I would be on that upgraded watch like Oprah on a baked ham!
I own 5 or 6 of these in different colors and both strap and bracelet versions. I only wish they would make a 40mm version. My daily wearer is an old Casio analog/digital diver, and I have worn Casios about 40 out of the last 50 years. In fact, I was a Casio salesman back in 1979.
Have literally just bought one of these, with blue face/bezel too from Amazon uk, but shipped from the US. Also has the marlin on it. Got it for £50. Bargain, and a great looking watch.
Was seriously considering the Invicta Pro Diver Automatic for a daily, but I think I like this better. Doesn't have that giant *I n v i c t a* on the side, and I kind of like that it doesn't have a cyclops either. I can see adding stainless bracelet and a sapphire crystal though. Like you say, sometimes you just need the convenience of a quartz.
Great watch! Had one but it was a catch and release as I have the wrists of a pre-pubescent tween. My guess is if Casio offered these in a 40mm case they'd fly of the shelves so fast the stock staff would get whiplash.
Love my Duro, it's a daily and over 2yrs old, And I'm VERY hard on watches... have NO scratches on the crystal, and it's in very good shape. The lume is not great, have no issues with the crown, and the second hand hitting the markers is hit or miss(no pun intended). Mine was very good to begin with, and it appears to get better with time, btw. Spends most of its time on a StrapCode 22mm Super-J Louis JUB Watch Band Straight End, 316L Stainless Steel Solid V-Clasp Button Double Lock. With that confirguration I get a lot of "is that a ______, Oh"
I got one of these with the green bezel as a daily "no worries" watch and it is stupid good for the 50 bucks. Case finishing is surprisingly well done, especially that chamfer edge running the top sides of the case. The seconds hand hits the markers about 90% of the time...there are Swiss quartz watches costing many times more that don't achieve that. The bezel action is simply fantastic and it is properly aligned with the dial, something various watches costing much more..fail at. I tried Invicta Pro Divers but they had way too many problems. I owned the models: 8926 & 9937..first one(8926) developed issues like a broken clasp, bezel fell off at random once while putting fresh sheets on the bed, a fogged crystal(never submerged in water, not even washing dishes) and terrible loose feeling crown threads(which probably led to the fog). I gave them another chance many years later and got the 9937, which I had for only two weeks and again with the sketchy feeling crown threads(yes, I was careful) and a badly misaligned bezel put me off, so I sold it off and got the Duro...which has been bullet proof.
Bought mine preloved witha Bond Nato for just 20 bucks... I thought the guy was kidding n just selling the nato... Turned out he's selling Both the watch n the nato... Man-nnn... The best deal I've ever got... Hands down... 😁 💖 🤗
Love my Duros, my go go to beaters if I still want to wear a nicer looking watch but not have to worry about it. I’ve actually taken my black dial one scuba diving many times with no issues.
I bought This watch 5 years ago and bought a few more expensive one since. This is the only one I come back to. Add a quality jubilee bracelet and a saffire crystal if you use it as a work horse and I guarantee you will never find anything that comes close to it. And it will hold time better than any Rolex, no shit.
Just bought a pepsi one (so I don't have to wear my Oris Aquis to work). It's beautiful. The screw down crown was a big attraction. Still available with the Marlin on the face. G Shock next.
Thinking about purchasing the Pepsi bezel with metal bracelet. I like them all. In your opinion, is there a Duro that looks better or would be more collectible? Thanks.
Ooooo, that's tough. On vacation...man...I'd probably want a Quartz on vacation...at least one...less fuss, even though you'd be wearing the other daily. Tough call. I might lean the Duro.
@@stevealicioustime Another Question. I am a sucker for great lume, And I am flirting with an Invicta Pro Diver...doesn't have to be the best lume. It can be decent, but It should not be the worst. Can you tell me...Is it ok, or bad on the pro diver? Does lume need to break in, wo with time and exposition it gets better?
@@stevealicioustime I have searched for it all over the Internet. The ones which I have got are ridiculously overpriced. I heard it has been discontinued because apparently Casio does not own the license to the Marlin logo anymore? A new one is being sold by the name of mdv 107 which does not have the marlin logo.
This is a whole lot of watch for the money!
Will be your review for one from Casio Lineage ?

Also reduce the size to 40mm.

That's awesome! They are great!
You’re a legend dude
The size doesn’t bother me. But I wish they made it solar powered. Then it’d be pretty much perfect 😁
I bought all of the colors an the watches are keeping good time, it’s the perfect watch to buy. Excellent video 👍

Definitely!
If you can find one in the stores, you're lucky. My local Wal-Mart had a clearance of the Duro and i bought all 4 they had left. $11/watch 😊
Wowwww, that's some deal!!
Got the six colour variants that are easily available love em ...for the money these truely are ya best budget diver still to date in my opinion...

The Invicta Pro Diver in automatic is still a solid watch.

That's true, I wonder if they'd ever offer different sizes.

Duro is fantastic. Period!
Yep!
Just ordered one, cant explain how excited i am :D
Just bought one three months ago and I am more than satisfied.
Insanely good bang for the buck. I don't think there is a better value.
Absolutely!

That's great, and absolutely! A watch you can just pick up and wear without having to worry or think about what you're doing that day.
I just placed an order. I am from India. I paid around $86+$25= $111 dollars for the black and gold. I am excited.
But the black and gold one comes with resin strap which is $50 + $37.45 (import & delivery),so its $87.45 in total.😂

42mm please!
Make a short for this one as well. Shorts are like pawn, that will attract alot of eyes to you channel! Great Vids! Great Strategy!
Thanks for watching!
Is duro use safire crytal?
No, for that price it's mineral crystal.
@@stevealicioustime very difficult to find it in Indonesia..
Just purchased one for surfing but the bezel is freakin hard to move. Does it eventually loosen up?
Mine was pretty nice from the start. You maybe got a rough one!
I own 4 (black-Pepsi-black gold - blue) all with metal bracelet and very happy 😀
Searching the white dial ... the graal 😄
Oh, probably looks amazing in white!
Can U Give That Link 😭😭😭

Casio Duro or Invicta Pro Diver? Which one would you take to your 3 week trip to Hawaii?

@@stevealicioustime Duro because of the Cheaper price and Quartz. Fair.

@Peter Thank you! I am a Casio Lover! Right now I got a rather tiny wrist. The biggest I wear is a 42mm. The Duro sits at 44? 45?
Where can I buy the classic black version from
I thought Amazon had it, but maybe not.

Still has the Marlin on the ones I bought this year (2024)
1:55 You’ve over thought putting the watch on in the morning
I thought they discontinued the marlin
Nope. Not as of 2024. One I just received has it as does the one I got last year.
they cut the lume pretty good...but i have six
Different colors, I hope!
If you were fast enough you got these at Walmart over the past 2 months for $3-$11 on clearance
Wow, that's an amazing deal!
Not true
@@xcaliber302 Yes it's true. The Pepsi in my display pic was $11
Yep. It's true!!! My Walmart had them for $11 each.
@@dannyfrog can't find it online? Is it available online?
They cost $100 where I live. No bargin at this price.
I bought one and it fell apart one of the bands came off the bezel came off
If it’s SOLAR powered, I’ll get one(or 2)!!
That would be cool to see.
Totally agree. I have that watch and will not part with it.
Cracker of a watch but too big for my puny wrist!
It's a nice one for sure!
Mineral cristal, says it all! I would go with a Seiko, don t wanna swap my watch after one year! You gonna scratch that mineral crystal!
Have had mine over a year and wear it a lot doing all kinds of everyday tasks around the house, not one scratch yet.
You can go wrong...if it's too big for your skinny wrist 😔😔😔.
Make it 40mm & short lug to lug & I'd buy it in a heartbeat
Even Bill Gates wears one 😊
Lol, yes, he does!
