I just checked out the Addies for a review recently and used to have the Casio ages ago, before they remove the marlin, then got it back, now I think you can have it both ways. Loved that watch, it was a gift from my dad when I was a kid. But gotta say, the Addies totally outshines it, no comparison, sturdier, feels more dense, better proportions better feel in general, the lume is totally out of contest. Haven't seen the new Duros, so maybe they've upped their game. Still, at 80 to 90 bucks, I don't really see the point.
Already bought the green one! I also have 3 Duros. Both are great watches! Thanks for sharing.
I am a big fan of the Addiesdive. I have both of these watches, the biggest difference for me, and why i wear the Addiesdive more is the size. The Duro is a good watch but 44mm. The Addiesdive is a much better fit for me at 41.3mm.
I have both watches= The ADDIESDIVE and the CASIO DURO and they are great watches.
Hey buddy, I also have the Casio Duro, and I would like the Addiesdive, do you recommend it?
I own both and they each have their advantages. I do admit that the Addiesdive spends more time on my wrist, but depending on what I'm wearing, choosing one or the other isn't a problem because both look great, have been reliable and durable.
I agree.
Just in time! Was literally looking at the Addiesdive
At least as of today, the Addiesdive is no longer near “half the price” of the Casio. While the date magnification is nice on the 2040 is nice, for me it doesn’t make up for having hands that are too narrow/ difficult to read at a glance. Nice to see both hit the markers on the seconds hand.
Both superb budget watches , hard too choose between the two .
Buy both then you cant go wrong .
Excellent idea! :-)
Fair review.
Got that Addiesdive for €35 and think it's great. Love casios but the duro is too big.
These are 2 completely different watches, I've been surprised for how many reviews there are comparing the 2 lately, is like the only thing they have in common is that both use quartz and are divers, the Addiesdive is a much better option even disregarding the price, the only thing for the Casio would be the cache of the brand
Casio Duro, one of the best bang for your buck, however too big for my 6.5 inch wrist & poor Lume, which imho should be a must on a diver.
The Casio MRW is better for smaller wrists, but only has 100 m Water Resistance & frictional bidirectional bezel, I hydro modded mine & looks awesome now
✌️
Oh, I bet that does look pretty cool :-)
End of the day, Casio is a major Japan brand, whereas Addiesdive is a China homage brand. So, Addiesdive has easily 10 dive watches with varying specs under $100. So, I would spend the extra $20-50 & get a better specd Addiesdive with Sapphire !
That particular Addiesdive watch might not be a clear winner, but for Under $55, there are Addiedive and Steeldive watches that blow away the Casio. My SD1953 has a sapphire crystal, a fully lumed ceramic bezel, 300m WR, and an NH35A automaic movement, I paid only $51. The Addiesdive MY-H3 is similar to the AD2040, but features a fully lumed cermaic bezel for Under $40. The Steeldive SD1970 "Willard" can also be found for $50 to $55,
Just a no-brainer, really.
The prices are around 90usd for those models in addiesdive/steeldive websites. How did you get it at that price?
@@fayadnazim I got mine by going to AliExpress and scrolling through the adverts. The prices varied from one “store” to another. It might have been a sale, too, but I don’t remember.
@@thehumblehorologist6091thank you. Unfortunately AliExpress is blocked in India
Awesome comparison video 👌👌
Glad you liked it!
Ya tengo el Casio Duro, ahora me gustaría comprar un addiesdive
Do it!
Wow I just heard of Addiesdive and was checking out some videos on them. I'm blown away by how well the second's hand lines up with the chapter ring. It's aligned perfectly, where as even the Casio's seems to be landing just a smidge before the markers on the chapter ring. That's wild
I was so amazed! Some pricier Seikos mess this up, but mine is spot on. Don't have a new Duro to compare, but from my old one, I think the addiesdive is just better. Never even thought about comparing the two.
Sonny Liston vs Muhammad Ali! If I’m getting a quartz watch, I’m looking for a Seiko VH/VK movement.
i wish the duro was smaller, it would have been perfect. i have the watchdives milsub instead of the addiesdive, same 40mm submariner case and japan quartz movemnt with saphire glass. its a good watch
You know, I totally agree. A smaller Duro would be killer.
The only problem of the Casio may be that it is too big for some people. In every other aspect I still would prefer the Casio. I have it in black/gold and it is still beautiful. The strap of the Casio is not cheap but very durable. I don't care about lume because I don't need it.
The indices are not applied. They are embossed or pushed out from the metal that makes up the dial. I have had both, and now own the addiesdive only because the Duro was bigger than I liked. The addiesdive is a perfect size for me. I do agree that the Duto dial is mich better. For the price, nothing can beat Addiesdive lume. It is great.
Hey, thanks for the info
Casio Blue is awesome!
Agreed!
I'm a Casio collector, but in this instance I'd have the Addiesdive. 🙃
20 years ago, CASIO used to make great Analogue watches like the EF-305, until their main designer maybe passed away and they had to replace him with someone who doesn't know what a watch means, and their watches ever since became huge dinner plates with minute hands so disproportionately short that you could almost confuse them with the hour hands.. I believe they had better quit the analogue thing and stick to what they do best, i.e. their great Digitals. .. This Addiesdive beats the Casio in everything.
I trust my Duro to be WR200, I would not trust any AliExpress watch R ratings. The Addiesdive is a great price when on sale, the smaller case size is nice, and the cyclops is horrible. So if you don't really need WR200 then go for the Addiesdive. A watch marked 'Diver's 200M' should be ISO tested, but I cannot see anything to say the AD has been tested so it should not be marked as such.
Fair point
If you want a trusted professional divers watch that your putting your safety into - then neither of these watches are for you ! While the Casio"s parent co. is Japanese the Duro is a Chinese made watch with a Japanese movement ..... exactly the same as the Addisdive . I have a few Addisdive watches & have worn then in conjunction with my professional dive watches on many dives just to see how they went & didn't have any leaks at all . Cheers
@@motouno3778 The point is that the Duro does not claim to be a Diver's watch, the Addiesdive does wrongly use that marking on the dial.
@@thehumblehorologist6091i use the duro for scuba diving
I have all the colors on the Addiesdive collection (yellow, red, orange, green)... i love them all... Duro rocks ! but Addiesdive too.
For me its the addiesdive, love the duro but the addies is far better
Good compare n contrast vid. Subbed!
Thanks for the sub!
I bought one . I set it and put it on and wore it for three hours or so and took it off to take a nap. When I went to put it back on it had stopped. I had also ordered one of the ones on the bracelet that did not have a color chapter ring. It did the same thing. I ordered the green one from the Addiesdive website. When I contacted them they asked me to pay $10 for shipping and they would send me a new watch. I did that. It is on the way. The other one on the bracelet I got from Aliexpress. I just got it today and it has done the same. I guess I will request a refund. and see how the green replacement does when it gets here. I have purchased a couple of Addiesdive watches two mecha -quartz and one auto and they have worked fine. This model is not having a good track record with me.
Man, I hate to hear that! That’s horrible.
I really don't have a dog in this fight because divers do nothing for me but had Casio done a better job with the smaller Duro the Addie's size advantage would be nullified. I have no problems with the "Chinese" watch thing because if you buy it through an importer like Watchdives they'll handle any warranty or return problems.
The large dial and small hour markers make the Duro uneven with the amount of negative space between the houra. The proportions of the markers on the Addies are much better and the dial is well balanced. The lume is the true deal, Casio lume is straight up terrible, it does not last as long. If the Addiesdive have BGW9, what a true bargain for those looking for a Quartz daily
Truth.
Should have put the Addiesdive MY H3 sub homage up head to head against duro not the 2040. All nice watches 🍻 cheers
Next time!
No contest here ...one is a legend watch creator and the other one is .....
Compare it to the Duro Jr. MTD-1053D. I own all 3.
I’ve never seen the smaller Duro in person. Walmarts have quit selling them, you know.
Yes, it is. Sort of. Because the branding (ridiculous name, unpleasant logo, stupid mention "diver's" on the caseback...) kills the Addiesdive for me. On the other hand, Casio Duro is just a very mediocre watch that too many people love to say they love. I dislike the stubby hands, the microscopic date and the aluminum insert. And the big hype 🤷♂️
🤔
the Duro is to SMALL.I want a bigger one !
Ha ha!
Thanks for sharing 😀.
You bet!
Addiesdive good
AD 2040 forever...

I have a hard time understanding your comment. Add a comma, or something. Maybe that will help.
Addiesdive kills the Casio
You lost me at Jory Goodman.
You know, I don’t think I’ve seen one of his videos in a long time, probably months.
@@thehumblehorologist6091 Yeah, same here. That’s by choice though.
Casio out
Duro wins 😂
:-)
Just drop these comparisons in your cheap chinese watch commercial. Casio is untouchable compared to these simple copies.
Well, at least I’m glad you took the time to leave a comment.
Shill for Chinese dealer.
