I just arrived that day from frozen Holland -6 in Melbourne, Australia 42 degrees. At night I saw DEVO. About 50 degrees inside. They changed gear 3 times and had a wonderful gig. I was hanging in ropes like a boxer that was to go down for a ko, but what a show... February '82. One of thebest live gigs I ever seen. And a difficult and great time in Oz too. Great memories.

I would say vocals live and “some” backing recorded.... because notice at 1:23 - 1:38 where he does whip each side of stage a few times each and there is no CRACK! There are cracks in other spots but not there. Maybe he sang live over the recording.
