My Strapcode came with fat pins eliminating the play in the end links. I also detached the end links to install the bracelet making the process far less fiddly. I thought your video was an honest appraisal of the product, much appreciated.👍

Had the same issue, with the SBDC069 JDM, end links made it a pain in the butt to install, a friend has done sizing in a mall store did it in seconds for free, I get no wobbling, it's a jubilee style and isn't as light as the Seiko band ads weight, think I paid around $90 and does fell better. Liked your video, and so places sell it cheaper than strapcode, who manage to get it to you from Japan or Korea forgot which in like 2-3 days. Have one for my Alpinist, probably shouldn't have ordered it, prefer wearing a snap bar nice leather strap, fits that type watch better. And plan on putting one on my 053 which I have found for like $70 on Amazon. I agree on their pricing is out of line, drop it by $20 at least, more depending on the model. I do think they are well made. The push pin system Seiko (etal) sucks. Only got it my self to work once and other times paid for the install for like $15 which is well worth my time and headache. I so agree depending on the Seiko and the band, it does go from a B- to A. I bought one for my Titon from LIW who knows the exact model for what watch.
You can also use Strapcodes internal email with your EXACT watch model and number and they will tell you which model.

I also had to use the fat pins as the stock ones where too short to hold the bracelet on the case. I have a SSC813 and it was a tight fit using the 1.78 fat pins. Detaching the end links made it much easier and have a solid fit. Thanks for the tip.

The OEM SJ on the SKX009 is the most comfortable bracelet there is and adds to the charm of this watch. No way I'd ever swap it for anything.

I've purchased numerous strapcode bracelets. I'd say about 1 out of every 2 didn't fit, and most of the ones that did didn't fit very well. Strapcode has a lot of improvement to make.

The Strapcode Jubelee turns my SKX009 into my favourite watch to wear. Comfort wise I've no complaints about the OEM bracelet, I've just found the Strapcode adds a feel of luxury that gives the SKX a premium feel on my wrist that substantially adds to it's enjoyment.
Admittedly, that's probably just a long way to say "I like how the Strapcode Jubelee stops my SKX from rattling like a set of keys".

I have the strapcode endmill bracelet for my orient Mako ii. Amazing quality and endlinks fit vault tight with no play. Based on the I got the oyster for my sarb033, unfortunately I was hugely disappointed. Endlinks are so loose I can rotate them over 90° downward so the curved part faces upward and no longer against the case. Beware! I bought as part of initial run. They mention on their post hyping the new product that if it is loose to contact them and they would work to help fix the problem. When I did reach out to them they offered me the option of returning the product...shipping at my expense. I don't know what to think about the company at this point. My Mako experience was amazing (as well as customer service before purchase). However, when it came to the sarb, poor quality and customer service was not as advertised.

I have put my 7002-7009 and the Turtle on the Retro Razor from strapcode. The turtle is a difficult watch to get a good steel bracelet for due to the fat case design. The retro razor fits it perfectly because the end where the bracelet connects to the watch is as broad as the watch shoulders and so the transition from the shoulders to the bracelet doesn't now look awkward.

I don't know that I've heard anyone go ga-ga over strapcode bracelets, but I really don't like Seiko bracelets (& rubber straps) on my divers and I've replaced most of mine with miltat/strapcodes. You may wanna try fatter springbars to take out the endlink slop. Personally, I like the fit of the endlinks when I use the correct-size springbars, and I'm pretty sure that I've been given both fats and skinnys when I got them. Anyhow, they seem to work for me. I put a strapcode angus jubilee on my orient triton and its larger proportion really improves the appearance and weight balance of a larger watch of that kind.

I think that the major beef most people have with the SARB 033 OEM bracelet is the fact that it only has two micro adjustments. Mine sized up fairly well. I always hear of people going to the bracelet you installed. The polished center links would bother me for scratches and fingerprints. So the OEM one is good and you have confirmed that. Certainly better than the Seiko 5 bracelets I have had. Although until watch videos informed me that the Seiko 5 bracelets were not good. I have a Seiko 5 I bought twenty years ago and have always used the bracelet not "knowing" it wasn't any good. I have also submerged the watch not knowing that you cannot. The stock 7s26a finnally died and I bought a 4r36 and installed it just for fun and it is running again. Just having a problem finding a crown. As the 7s26a crown will not work.

Strapcode is a mixed bag...the bracelet links are ok, but the clasps are really not great. Especially they dont have a dressier/smaller clasp for smaller watches...I wouldn't put a divers clasp on something like a SARB033/35. Also their Angus Jubilee bracelet might work on a diver but is way too thick and the links are bigger than usual...looking very misplaced on smaller watches.

It was a little tight so i contacted customer care. They want $12 for the each link and $15 for the shipping. Seems a little ridiculous to me. When i ordered a bracelet from Marc at Long Island watch he sent me a link for free. I dont mind paying for the link but $15 shipping is crazy.

Thanks for this great and objective review! One thing that has also kept me from pulling the trigger (in addition to the price) is the apparent lengthening of the lug-to-lug, compared to the oem. My wrists are rather narrow (6 in), and increasing that length would maybe be a showstopper for me. Did you notice this at all in your experience?

It slopes down so it's not really a big deal, trust me.

The fit of that end link on the SARB033 is quite gross honestly. I heard the 033 and 035 have different lug holes for some reason, which is why Strapcode has two separate sections for the two watches. Haven't confirmed it though, I like the OEM bracelet on my 035. Before selling my Alpinist I tried the Strapcode bracelet for that, it was pretty well made and the fit was very good, but I couldn't get over how bulky it was compared to the watch head. I agree with your conclusion, not too worth it over any OEM bracelet.

Almost pulled the trigger on their gold bracelet for the gold turtle. But something just looked wrong w the endlinks - in their own promotional pics.

The fit of the bracelet to the lugs would drive me nuts. Would bigger spring bars alleviate the problem? Does seem expensive for what it is.

I very much dislike the difference in brushing of the strapcode bracelet and the watch case. The bracelet's brushing lines are thicker and less refined than the ones on the watch case.

Can I ask - how difficult did you find it to engage the end links in the lug holes because I am finding it near on impossible to swap over my leather strap back to the original factory bracelet.

I hear you, I haven't been able to return the original bracelet after having tried for 2 hours. I'll have to take it to the watchmaker's and hopefully he has better luck with it.

hello sir, maybe that sarb033 can be fit with fat spring bar from seiko will counter that problems? just a thought, because i don't have that watch in my collection. try changing to 2.5mm or 2.0mm spring bar.

    • @JustBlueFish
      @JustBlueFish  4 года назад +1

Ya I’m sure it can be resolved with bigger spring bars but, having opened and unpacked this on camera I didn’t have any and had to use what they provided.

Could anyone compare these Strapcode bracelets to the ones that come on Loreo and Pagani Design divers? I have those and wonder where these (at the same or higher cost than the watches) would be worthwhile upgrades.
Or to put it differently, who much of a watch would it take to come with a Strapcode level bracelet? Phoibos? Above or below?

What a shame... i have the angus jubilee for my skx, and it fits great and the same clasp fold over security is super tactile... also the springbars fit just right.. it seems that their qc is not the best.. thanks for the video 👍

Would 2.5mm spring bars fit the lug holes on the case? That would cure the sloppy feel

JustBlueFish Watch Reviews yea try the 2.5 mm ones and I agree on the Strapcode Hype, I’ve purchased several of their bracelets and have had to sand sharp edges from underneath on most of them and the angus jubilee I had for my turtle weighed a ton ! Sold it! 😂

What do you think about the Grand Seiko SBGH269? I was offered to purchase this watch and I am on the fence whether I should pull the trigger. I am worried about value retention down the road if I decide to sell one day I would hate for it to be worth half of retail purchase price.

I on the other hand recived today Angus Jubilee for my mini turtle and wow am i impressed! Super tight fit on the endlinks (much better then longines i have on my vhp, and way way better than stock mm300 bracelet) and the clasp is really nicely done.
I guess they do better and worse bracelets.. That actually sucks. Shame You dont get that cool upgrade feel

These braclets don't seem to be the best value for money, it's a shame you didn't buy the jubilee or the Angus jubilee for the SKX, I have the standard jubilee for my SKX and it's much better in all area's to the OEM version.

    • @JustBlueFish

Hi Guy, yes I agree the Angus jubilee is a bit to chunky that's why I went with there standard jubilee the only thing you may not like is the clasp is the standard one, you must of over looked it on there website.
