Sometimes it’s hard to get out of the surfers way when paddling out becus they turn where ever they want to and if they turn towards u than it’s hard to move in time
Great video, as the classic movie The Castle quotes, it's about the vibe!!!! It's so much better when everyone tunes into sharing waves and hooting one another!!! Please keep these videos going they're great!!!!!
hey, sometimes i find myself in a position of the red x's at the end -- i find it hard to get out of the way quickly, and a lot of times the surfer is unpredictable. what can I do to avoid this situation?
same here... but I'm thankful for this video because its helped me avoid this situation more. notice the yellow arrow where he points at another surfer as an example. He literally goes 90 degrees the opposite direction, not heading closer into the lineup at all. I've started doing that and have avoided getting in people's way more often. That being said, I surf at a fast, crowded beachbreak and sometimes things happen so quickly you can't do much about it. Just have to say sorry and do your best.
If you see a nice girl and you like at your local breaks: Paddled next to the girl. Blocked people with your surfboard, so the girl had a chance to catch the wave. And asked her out for a ice coffee at your favorite shop that almost everyone like you. It was working almost every time for me.
I got more surf in during the quarantine because of all the beaches being closed but there were no cops because they thought all the roads were closed and there’s bike trails and hiking trails that you can get into all the beaches up here
Thank you for the great tips! Q: When you said not to travel in packs - does this mean not moving in groups of 3+? I'm a beginner and like to stick with at least one other friend for safety and guidance, but I also don't want to be a nuisance to other surfers out there. I appreciate the feedback!
3 is the magic number! This depends on the existing crowd though, if there are only a few in the water when you turn up, 3 is probably too many. Keep shreddin
@@TheSurfRat I liked your take on tutorials and surf info, but also just like the whole process of going for a surf, from loading up the car, finding waves to pov surfing. Whatever you want tho, its your channel, all good 😆 🤙
Now I would like your take on this, keeping in mind you haven't heard the other side of the story. Me beginner taking small waves, by the side a "surf instructor" coaching a youngster who's been catching most of the waves, there are more people as well. The kid begins to fallow my moves, I would see a wave well before him and when I start to paddle he waits until I'm on it and he get father in the peak and later claims I dropped in. Instructor comes and "instructs me" about RULES OF THE OCEAN HAHAthen the argument "you are not a local" what do you think?
hmmm, it's hard without seeing what happened! If he is inside you, he probably had a better position and it is his wave. If he paddles in front and inside you just before you are standing up, I would call him a snake. Groms can be a little cheeky too, bastards
YEHEHSNSNEHEHHE FINNNNNNAAAALLLLLY ANOTHER RAT VIDEO IV BEEN WAITING FOR SO LONGGGG
