Here are some lore corrections, as well as the credits for the music used in the video! If there is anything missing please inform me! 1. 7-1 is the perfect example of violence in this game, you just had blood turned off, but when turned on, the clash of bright red against white is so visible that it works very well to represent the violence of V1

In the book violence is split into 3 rings: violence against others, violence against self, and violence against nature, art, and god. The endless war in 7-2 represents violence against nighbors, the trees represent violence against self, and the earthmover represents violence against nature, art, and god.
A bit more of an explanation for the lust layer and Minos. The lust layer was originally the same wasteland from Dante's divine comedy. Minos, being the god of judgement, decided that someone shouldn't be tortured eternally for merely loving someone, so he built the huge city for lusts residents, but was killed by Gabriel.
27:39 It's actually a punishment for those who committed suicide. The trees are the people that committed suicide, and the screams you hear from the trees are the screams of the people inside of them, screaming because each leave they shed feels like a limb being torn from their body.
As someone who hasn’t played ultrakill and knows literally nothing about it, I’ll say I confused the seven layers of hell with the seven deadly sins. So I was sitting here thinking “I wonder how the game will portray envy or pride”
Clarification on Lust, the Council of Heaven was the one who didn't like the idea of Lust being independent and sent Gabriel to deal with Minos (the ruler of Lust) to kill him in order to take back control of Lust and make it more like a hell than a regular civilization.
27:39 pretty good guess, but based on the level name, the design and the soundtrack names, this is the sublayer of violence against the self- self harm and suicide. the trees are all people who likely killed themselves or chose to die for dying's sake, which is why it feels so eerie. it's a funeral dirge, a requiem for those who felt their lives were worth less than even the forests around them. (the trees may also be a partial reference to the suicide forest in japan, you know the one)
Another reason for them being trees is that in dantes' inferno a punishment for violence against self in such a manner is to be transformed into trees, while still remaining themself. As the reality, and the reality they hate to face, is that nothing can ever separate them from their being. Stuck as trees, their leaves are plucked and eaten by harpies, bringing them pain as they brought to themself.

I was hoping for a video actually focused on its titled, but it feels like you just recap every single level instead of actually analyzing them. Getting to Greed felt like a relief, only to go back to summarizing the levels. If we're here watching the videos, we almost definitely already know how all the levels in the game go.

The part of the game that makes it for me is the secret levels. Specifically, how they end up making you suffer through what the layer is supposed to represent.
