I just saw this movie in 2024 - I love it. I miss GOOD films like this. Lindsay is also in an episode of the reboot of Columbo...and she was GREAT in that too! Very professional actress, she adds a lot to her roles.
I was watching S08E3 of Columbo, and just knew it was this actress in the first 5 seconds of hearing her voice (no picture shown). She has just a distinctive and memorable voice.
@@maddymud I came here to say this. I had seen AtPM a bunch of times and had no idea that was her until the last time I saw it. She's worked with the greats.
This films transfixed me I even bought a black leather notebook and started writing down rules which I thought encapsulated my life's experience...it was such a powerful film with a great script and great performances....Lindsay Grouse was terrific!!!!!
this movie wants us to come up with THIS question: "Will YOU go to a shrink with more baggage than you?" everybody walks past many murderers in their life, but will talk about your most inner feelings to a murderer? both main characters are flawed, and to steal and rape is one thing, but to murder somebody about money .... ... ... ?
Oh no - she was saying it was a choice to be sooo wooden? Her performance always bothered me, I wish Bujold had done it and yet I love the film so much
Mamet nearly destroyed her performance, as he did with the performances in Oleanna, by directing her to play it so monotonous. She rose above his direction.
Mamet is so dogmatic, as a director/acting teacher I think he could destroy the confidence of a young actor who assumes he/she has to actually think like he does about acting, and about life. But if you take Mamet as a very strong stylist of language and acting, not a life guru, the results can be amazing, as art, not life.
A hell of the film debut - one of the all time best movies. I've seen all Mamet's films and still think that's his masterpiece.

One of my favorite all-time movies. Remember being spellbound when I first saw it. One hell of an actress.
What a pleasant voice. She was FANTASTIC in this movie
Great piece. Not sure where this ran, maybe on TV somewhere. But a great piece, great interview.
fantastic film!
This is so great, I’ve been a fan of the film for ever. Thank you.
He created a character with multiple character flaws, and she played it perfectly. What a great movie!

she also shows up in All the President’s Men

Beautiful Lindsey...God bless ya!

Excellent interview, and gives insight on Lindsay’s character.
One of the best movies I ever saw.
she was great in this movie, I can't believe she still has the same hair style, it looks good on her.
And even in those formal dresses she looked awesomely sexy ❤️
I like her voice. She narrated a few audiobooks that I often listened to as a teenager.
Her audiobook narration of Stephen King's misery is impeccable!
I usually detest actors trying to explain a film like this. However, I found Lindsay's discussion quite interesting and perceptive.
Love her
Lindsey Crouse should have won the Oscar for best supporting actress in Places In The Heart
She is so beautiful in her movies, still looking pretty good, just watched communion, she's so hot in that
My Favorite Actresses
A brilliant film with a perfect ending. And so perverse--she's a mentally healthier person after committing cold-blooded premeditated murder!
She was awesome in Slap Shot
J'adore Lindsay Crouse.
I liked the film but some of the dialog did not seem natural, it's better on the page than it is speaking it,
I always saw her character as the absolute VILLAIN of the movie (by the end) and Mike the con artist as the GOOD guy!
But she didn’t set out to criminally manipulate and defraud someone - he did. She is standing up for herself and righting the hand he dealt her.
He wasn't good, but I didn't want her to kill him-- I didn't want her to cross that line

Beautiful woman.....modest actress

You’re high
