Great to hear the thoughts of Jonas and Wout - hopefully they are what they believe and are not scripted by the team management. With two riders out and both being climbers I hope that Wout will put his own ambitions to the side at least until they are over the Pyrenees. With the weather being so hot all riders in all teams with be more tired and that means less attentive to whats going on around them every second which is how crashes occur and its important the team has the single goal of all of them defending yellow until over the next climbs even if Wout gets bored. I also note that Ineos has a full set of riders and they will be hunting yellow just as much as Pogacar is.

Let's say the strategy and some tactical decisions to obtain the green jersey, stages victories in order to satisfy WVA's personal ambitions while possibly compromising the yellow jersey are quite controversial to say the least. Wout is most probably the greatest cyclist in terms of abilities. But it is in the sacrifices for the team that see the real measure of a man. And at that level, well ...
A] Wout needs to ride for the TEAM and the yellow, not his personal gains. Gonna be hard to stand on the podium with the green at the expense of the yellow. B] Primozs' DNS was strangely timed - is he more interested in starting the Vuelta in winning shape than the teams overall win at the tour? C] I hope Sepp sees that he is GC material - right now half the weight of the overall outcome is on his shoulders, and if TJV don't open their check-book, he's gonna find a team that will support him in winning the Tour - he has it all. After yesterday’s stage I was thinking that Pogacar might have the momentum going forward. But I kinda forgot Jumbo has Wout. Enough said!
