Cufant/Copperajah are *really* good pokemon to have on your team, sure they're only available in the Wild Area but they can be caught after beating Nessa & evolve at level 34. Sheer Force is a guaranteed ability (unless you somehow get the HA Heavy Metal) & can absolutely DESTROY so many opponents throughout your playthrough
I actually used corviknight, boltund and obstagoon on my first play through. Only one I didn’t complete with was Obstagoon because I switched it for another Pokémon. I didn’t have a haterenne on my team but ended up catching a shiny GMax one. My husband sent me a Galarian Rapidash so I had the psychic/fairy covered by her.
I'm currently using Polteageist right now during a playthrough! I highly recommend it! The combination of Shell Smash and stored power is amazing! Obstagoon is on the same team and love it! I F**KING LOVE HATTERENE!!!! I have and used Darmanitan! I managed to get Zen Mode! I started using Cursola, and I do like it, but I eventually switched it to Polteageist

Polteageist is my current favourite set up mon, shell smash with a focus sash, weak armour and stored power with shadow ball for coverage and you're set to sweep any teams without a priority move
I recommend using Orbeetle since its one of the best early bug pokemon with Leavanny and Scolipede. It gets dual screens at level 10 and you get light clay kinda early. It gets calm mind hypnosis psychic bug type STAB as well as Shadow Ball. The design is really deep and great
Cursola shot to my favorite Pokémon ever spot the moment I caught one in Pokémon Sword during the Wild Area event where you can get version exclusive Pokémon in their non-respective games. I love it
I like your choices, but I felt alcremie needed to be here. you get access from it early on, it handles really well with it's defence stat, it looks adorable, and is actually a really good Pokemon as a backup if you don't have any type advantages as it is a bit tanky but a heavy hitter with dazzling gleam and can recover using draining kiss and recover. it also has access to psychic and mystic fire, which takes care of it's weaknesses. overall this pokemon is great and one of my favorites. pair it with polteageist and you have the perfect tea party!
My opinions of this list: 10. I just didn't need an fighting type on my team. I don't really care about it that much. I do like it though. 9. I didn't realize until too late that it's stats are insane. I just didn't want to use an ghost type on my team and I don't like polteageist that much. 8. This is an identical situation with polteageist and barraskewda 1. G-corsola is an shield exclusive and I play sword. I also don't like those pokemon.
I've only done one playthrough thus far, but here are my thoughts on each of these Pokemon in regards to said playthrough: 10. By the time I saw this Pokemon I already had Falinks and there was no way I was taking it off my team. 9. I REALLY wanted to like this one, but I must have had a bad nature or IVs or something because it could not pull its weight. 8. I didn't want to have too many Galarian forms on the team. Rapidash was guaranteed a spot, and Corsola ended up taking another. 7. I had it the whole game. Easily the most useful member of the team. 6. My starter was Scorbunny. I wasn't going to have two fire types. 5. Had the first form for a bit, but gave up on it when other Pokemon I enjoyed more came up. I have made a competitive one though. 4. Had one for a part of the journey (I did cycle through a few different mons). It was pretty useful. 3. Already had Rapidash and Alcremie. No way was I using 3 Pokemon of the same type on the first playthrough. 2. I was playing Shield and this is a Sword exclusive. 1. Kept pressing B on the first form because I liked that eviolite set. It really came through in some of the tougher gym fights.
You've listed my Galar team right there. Not counting my starter, I went through the whole game with Boltund, Corviknight, and Obstagoon. I was rarely knocked out. They make a perfect combination.
I tried having Obstagoon, but it didn’t work for me I did have a Carkoal and Corviknight on my team in the Elite 4 Have finally gotten my Darmanitan with Zen Mode and I love it; not big on Gorilla
I used Polteageist, Obstagoon, and Coalossal in my original play through, wanted to use Darmanitan but I got Shield, and I’m using Barraskewda on my competitive team.
Does anyone else think shiny Grapploct looks a bit like DJ Octavio from Splatoon? Also I used a Corviknight and a Polteageist in my Sword playthrough, loved them both. Ran Nasty Plot on Polteageist and it ran over Nessa in the finals with Giga Drain.
About Boltund, here's another thing to keep in mind that didn't get mentioned: its ability, Strong Jaw, which adds 50% of base power to any biting attacks. In Hammerlocke, I believe, you can find a TM for Thunder Fang, which is a biting move. Its base power is 65. Absolutely give that move to Boltund. If you do, it will receive an extra 32.5 power from its ability, and since it's a STAB move, it'll get another 32.5 on top of that. That means Boltund's Thunder Fang will have a power of 130. Absolutely crazy for a move with 95% accuracy. That fact alone makes Boltund one of the best electric types you could ask for.
Obstagoon with stomping tantrum, Obstruct, double edge, and throat chop with guts and flame orb is amazing and I used it in one of my teams, can recommend but obviously not the only cool set it can use
Boltund isn't just a physical attacker, it's a mixed attacker that can back up both modes with either of its abilities, with strong jaw making Thunder Fang better than wild charge and buffing Crunch and Fire Fang, and while harder to get, Competitive makes Boltund an electric nuke when it gets intimidated
This video will be very helpful in a few days because today is my birthday and I'm using some of the money that I got along with money that I already had and I'm buying a Switch and Pokemon Sword. Feel free to leave a "Happy Birthday" in a reply.
I really really love boltund because of his origin, which is based on a racing dog; a greyhound, which is when I started to appreciate his design. He's one of my favorite pokemon in sword and shield, and probably now my top electric type now.
I ALWAYS use the regional bird on my first playthrough in the pokemon games. Corviknight actually ended up being an MVP on several occasions. He's just so naturally tanky. Leftovers on him provides nice sustain, and you can use light screen to patch up special defence. Or use light clay to make him your set-up pokemon using light screen+reflect. Flying & steel protects eachother really well, so you only have to worry about fire and electric attacks, which honestly aren't plentyful.
I've played through the game a few times now. The difference between having Corviknight on your team and not having it is massive. That is such an OP Pokemon
I LOVE ALL POKEMON. With Galarian Corsola and Cursola, they are like a coral version of Mimikyu. Like you said, they just want to be loved. My other favorite you mentinoned was Sinistea and Polteageist. It to me is NOT overrated, and it is also pretty cute with a great pool of moves you can teach it. Also, Galarian Darmanitan may be overrated in some books, but to me it is pretty awesome. You can teach it Fire, Ice, Psychic, and Fighting type moves. Bring the Unova and Galarian Darmanitan into one. Anyway, thanks again for the video, MysticUmbreon!!! :) I am going to try and play through with an underrated team and see how it goes.
Just a little thought because some of your gen 5 videos were on my recommended and I've been doing some re-playthroughs lately, id like to see what Pokémon you would recommend using in the Pokémon World Tournament in Black and White 2 :)) That is, if you havent made a video on that already
@@ExcalibeonSwordofEeveelutions I wouldve used Toxtricity if it wasnt 4x weak to ground and/or if 2 of my 3 friends had a ground type on their teams >:(
I know this is a long shot to get an answer, but having had no experience in any kind of meta or competitive play, would it be viable to make a team out of the following pokemon, as going through the generations they would be my final favorites to have on a team. Lucario Charizard Leafeon Metagross Mimikyu Tyrantrum ? How good or how bad would that team work?
Good choices, Mystic! The only thing I'd add is that Boltund's Physical and Special Attack are equal, so you can run it physically with Strong Jaw or specially with Competitive. That makes it even better.
I used 4 of those. Grapploct, Obstagoon, Corvicknight and Barraskewda. Planned all of them except for Grapploct. Encountered one as a complete surprise. I liked it and caught it. Little did i know it was the shiny one! I realised this when i encountered more on that route. I really enjoyed using it because of how it looks (to me it looks like a little action figure/collectible i used to get in my home country) and it was also a strong addition to my team along with the other ones i already mentioned. To complete the six, i also used cinderace as my starter and the yellow toxtricity. This was one powerfull team!
Ugh I'd give Runerigus a special mention lmao I used it because I loved the design but ugh its lowkey a beast. It has some really good defenses, and a good moveset, it also learns earthquake and it can hit very hard as well. I really really liked using it
My top 3 favorites from this gen are the Cufant line, Snom line, and Corsola line. I was disappointed to not see the first two here, but surprised Corsola actually made number one. You're safe, this time lol
I have three playthroughs so far. On my first and second team I used Corviknight and Centiskorch. On the first I also used Roserade, Inteleon, Toxtricity and Thievul. On my second I used Gortrom, Drednaw, Kommo-o and Boltund. On my third playthrough however I made sure to use Pokemon I didn't use before on a team. So I ended up with Orbeetle, Obstagoon, Cinderace, Flapple, Galvantula and Barraskewda.
I use vikavolt in sword with quick claw. It's so good with like bug buzz, thunderbolt and air slash. It wrecked Nessa during the rematch, where I didn't get hit once and one-shot every single mon including g-max drednaw. Quick claw activated 3 times in a row.
man, there is so many pokemon and sword and shield is the first pokemon game I have played for a while, i have played the old games when I was younger soul silver was my favorite. in my first playthrough, i didn't use any galar pokemon not even the starters. i used lucario, gardevoir, jolteon, froslass, bisharp and noivern and used a lapras in lategame
My first play through team had Corviknight and Coalossal (Flame Body though, not Steam Engine rip) along with Rillaboom, Sandaconda (who ended up being one of my favorite Pokémon for some reason?) Frosmoth and Dragapult. And honestly, that team was the team I probably had the most fun with in a long time, seeing how I went off pure design when building the team and had no idea how good they’d actually be.
Playboi SK go for the overlooked mons! the surskit line is actually quite useful in a playthrough, and super fun! shuppet is a cool mon to use, ninjask has a great movepool, chimecho has shocking amounts of utility, spinda is a lot of fun, so many cool pokémon go unused! i’ve found that i have the most fun in pokemon when i get to come up with a cool play style and moveset to make the best of each mon, rather than just using the ones i know will carry me through.
Boltund is a very fun Pokemon to use even strong Jaws ability that hits like a truck especially stab Thunder Fang and other great buddymoon such as Crunch and psychic fangs and play rough for the dragons but play rough is not a biting move
am i just stupid or do u not get the pokemon on the box cover? first time in history the hyped up legendaries not even obtainable? i beat leon, is there more to the game?
Im getting a switch lite and both games this year for sword intellion, coalossal, orbeetle, obstagoon, galarian rapidash, corviknight or lucario: shield: cinderace, barraskuda, roselia, obstagoon, lucario, galarian rapidash
I would also add Orbeetle to this list. I wasn’t expecting much from it, but it’s got surprising bulk, its dual screens helped me out in some harder battles, and its Gigantamax form can be caught as early as 3-star Max Raids.
I used Polteageist on my team. Can confirm, it's great, but I still loathe the fact that Polteageist cannot learn Scald. Why?
OMG right? Totally a wasted opportunity
He's got the special attack to pull it off well too
Even emboar have scald, why the tea pokemon doesn't have it?
It didn't gel well with my team in my first playthrough but it is still one of my favourites from galar.
For the same reason why Wooloo can’t learn rollout I guess

Corviknight actually ended up being an MVP on several occasions. He's just so naturally tanky.
Leftovers on him provides nice sustain, and you can use light screen to patch up special defence. Or use light clay to make him your set-up pokemon using light screen+reflect.
Flying & steel protects eachother really well, so you only have to worry about fire and electric attacks, which honestly aren't plentyful.
I’ve already used Obstagoon, Corviknight, and Coalossal. I will totally build a team off of this list on another playthrough!
I used Obstagoon and Cursola and they were both really good
Polteageist is mad broken with shell smash, stored power
when i tell you i sweeped battle tower with that😔🖐
8:00 I'm actually part of a league that allows dynamax, but your not allowed to use a choice item with it
"That's the teasus" lolol subbed
I've played through the game a few times now. The difference between having Corviknight on your team and not having it is massive. That is such an OP Pokemon
Pls make more remastered teams . BTW love your videos. Best of luck for your further videos.
I got a clobbapus from max raid and he was amazing he really could help out
Game freak got way too real with Galarian corsala, it literally makes me cry.
I lucked out and got Clobbopus in a Max Raid before the first gym. Immediately became one of my favorites this gen!
Just a little thought because some of your gen 5 videos were on my recommended and I've been doing some re-playthroughs lately, id like to see what Pokémon you would recommend using in the Pokémon World Tournament in Black and White 2 :))
That is, if you havent made a video on that already
How do I get Meltan? Do I have to use Pokemon Go? I heard you also had to go to Fuschia City in Pokemon Let's Go. Is there any other way?
My first Galar Team was
Rillaboom
Galarian Weezing
Hatterene
Vaporeon
Alcremie
Dragapult (replaced Ninetales)
_Noice~_
Mine was:
Inteleon~
G-Max Eevee~
Toxtricity~
Coalossal~
Dragapult~
and Eiscue~
@@ExcalibeonSwordofEeveelutions I wouldve used Toxtricity if it wasnt 4x weak to ground and/or if 2 of my 3 friends had a ground type on their teams >:(
I know this is a long shot to get an answer, but having had no experience in any kind of meta or competitive play, would it be viable to make a team out of the following pokemon, as going through the generations they would be my final favorites to have on a team.
Lucario
Charizard
Leafeon
Metagross
Mimikyu
Tyrantrum
? How good or how bad would that team work?
Good choices, Mystic! The only thing I'd add is that Boltund's Physical and Special Attack are equal, so you can run it physically with Strong Jaw or specially with Competitive. That makes it even better.
You saying that’s the tea sis gave me so much respect for you
I used 4 of those.
I found a clobbopus in a max raid, I love this pokemon.
I used an Obstagoon on my first playthrough, it was a beast that could tank hits and deal them out as well
Ugh I'd give Runerigus a special mention lmao I used it because I loved the design but ugh its lowkey a beast. It has some really good defenses, and a good moveset, it also learns earthquake and it can hit very hard as well. I really really liked using it
I know this comment is old, but tell me... I want to use it, but I'm worried the ability will get annoying. Does it get annoying?
Dracovish:
I WILL KEEL ALL OF YOU!
It's crazy because half of my playthrough team is on this list! Corviknight, Boltund, and Coalossal. I loved all three of them.
I used all these Pokémon except for darmanitan at one point
I love that 4 of the pokemon I used in my playthrough are here
My first play through team had Corviknight and Coalossal (Flame Body though, not Steam Engine rip) along with Rillaboom, Sandaconda (who ended up being one of my favorite Pokémon for some reason?) Frosmoth and Dragapult. And honestly, that team was the team I probably had the most fun with in a long time, seeing how I went off pure design when building the team and had no idea how good they’d actually be.
Ayooo help a brother out, I just started a new Pokemon sapphire save on my gameboy and I need help with the team I should run
You can also get sinistea as a very rare encounter in the max raid battles at the beginning of the game near the ghost tower
Boltund is a very fun Pokemon to use even strong Jaws ability that hits like a truck especially stab Thunder Fang and other great buddymoon such as Crunch and psychic fangs and play rough for the dragons but play rough is not a biting move
If it weren’t for Barraskewdas weird mustache thing, it would look so much cooler
I was hesitant about using grimmsnarl but after using one I can say its worth giving a shot
am i just stupid or do u not get the pokemon on the box cover? first time in history the hyped up legendaries not even obtainable? i beat leon, is there more to the game?
I like clawitzer shiny
The best way a heard a let's player describe coalossal was "surprisingly reliable"
What is a viable moveset for butterfree?
My first wild full odds shiny was a Boltund that ran into me, so yeah I agree with Boltund being on this list
Hey mystic remember me from you're twitch btw love you're vids
I had a boltund whicj outsped every and i mean every pokemon it faced
Im getting a switch lite and both games this year for sword intellion, coalossal, orbeetle, obstagoon, galarian rapidash, corviknight or lucario: shield: cinderace, barraskuda, roselia, obstagoon, lucario, galarian rapidash
I would also add Orbeetle to this list. I wasn’t expecting much from it, but it’s got surprising bulk, its dual screens helped me out in some harder battles, and its Gigantamax form can be caught as early as 3-star Max Raids.
