This is a great video Scottie. Soooo useful for me. Thank you. Your colour placement and all that is really lovely, it makes me realise I need to up the paper quality of my sketch books which are only about 120gsm. So no water holding capacity at all. Anyway, I’m fully inspired by you once again. Have a great day.
Thank you so much, Scottie! (I was beginning to think you avoided trees and plants, lol ... not really!). I do a lot of plein air/nature painting as well as urban sketching, and what you have shown here is so helpful with how to approach vegetation of trees, bushes, flowers, hillsides, etc. Yay!
Another nice tutorial! I was looking forward to something about nature and landscapes from your side. So thank you! Combined with the books of Felix Scheinberger, your tutorials have really helped me to finally loosen my sketching and painting style. Much appreciated, and keep the good work coming!
Absolutely loved it. I learned so much! Also my fat thumbs made me accidentally hit the thumbs down! 😭 I fixed it. But just in case you got an alert and it made you sad I wanted to say it was an accident and I loved your tutorial!
As usual, a great lesson. Unfortunately, the music played is soooooo distracting. Music is as subjective as art of any form is. I choose to listen to your lessons because they are not distracting. This was not good. Turning your music on and off like that is so unnecessary.
Thanks Scottie. I love the way you added so many different greens plus other colours to those trees. Your loose style is wonderful 🙂
That was great Scottie! Keeping it loose gives it so much more life.
yes this was a quick and loose one 😊
Fabulous tutorial. Thank you so much for creating these informative tutorials for all of us. I've noticed much improvement in my own work.
Thank you so much for this awesome sketch Scottie👌!
My pleasure!

Sketched and painted along with you. Thank you for the tips. Adds so much to my urban sketches.
that’s awesome to hear it’s improved your sketches 🙌🏼
What kind of paper or sketchbooks do you use for urban sketching? I love how these turned out!
I use Baohong cotton cold press paper and for Sketchbook I’m using a hahnemuhle cotton 👍🏼
Amazing, so useful. Do you ever use watercolour pencils?
Thanks! Not yet 😊
