Finally! A doctor who has put these two together, heart and stomach. I began to notice that after a heavier kind of meal, when I lie down, I am liable to get palpitations, atrial fibrillation I was told. I was also told it was not related to food and digestion. I particularly notice it when I lie on my left side. If I switch to my right side, it often stops. Now I'm reluctant to lie on my left side. The solution I have come up with is to eat early and lightly at my evening meal. My main meal is now at midday. This has worked very well so far.

I've been in a similar situation myself. the difference is I have had an arrhythmia my whole life that I had an ablation for. so when mine gets irritated it tends to be a bit worse for me and gives me the anxiety of having a possible heart attack.. she was so on point!

I have been saying this for about 2 decades. Ran the whole cardiology warmups multiple times and I kept telling them I think it’s gut related. I was shut down immediately. Yet I was told the PVCs were completely benign. Now I know it is all my spasming gut stuff.

You are absolutely right because I suffered for months from gas in my digestive system to the point that I was terrified when I ate any meal of any kind because after that I suffered from a severe heart rhythm disorder and I could not lie down and I sometimes fell asleep while sitting in bed and it recently became clear to me that my problem is... Poor digestion, and my digestive system suffers from digesting food, especially pastries and food that contains a high percentage of carbohydrates. I will not go on for a long time. I finally discovered that all I needed was pancreatin, which helped me incredibly in digesting food. I have been using it for 4 days, and since then the gases in my stomach have disappeared by 99%, and the heart problems have disappeared, almost permanently.

I think that if the doctor treating you proves that there are no infections or inflammation in your intestines, then you most likely need enzymes to help you digest, regardless of the type. For me, pancreatin helped me a lot in digesting pastries in particular and food in general. Perhaps general enzymes that help in the digestion process will definitely help you.

I’ve recently been in hospital with a ‘suspected’ heart attack, however I was getting gut issues at least a week prior to it, & eventually the gas & bloating was pushing everything up & triggering heart pain. But I was also getting pain in my left side (spleen?). If I managed to release some of the gas the pains would go away.
Yes my BP was very elevated & my heart enzymes were very elevated, but there was an awful lot of stress & pressure going on in there. But it was only my heart they looked at - & nothing else.
The echocardiogram found no issues, but the angiogram found some narrowing which they addressed whilst in there (I’m 67). They did pick up that my pumping output is a bit low, but I have struggled with low energy for years so that may be more connected to the energy deprivation than anything else.
They didn’t appear to find anything obvious that could have triggered the ‘attack’, but I’ve still had the digestive issues since leaving the hospital. I’m still convinced the issue was far more likely digestive than actual heart-related. It’s always been my digestion……🙄

I had anxiety and panic attacks since I was a teenager in the 1980s. A couple of times I went to the ER but they diagnosed me as having PVCs that were harmless and advised I cut down on smoking and caffeine. But I was talking to an older guy in my church about it one Sunday and he said he thought he had similar heart problems but was eventually told he had a spastic esophagus. I had completely forgotten about it until I saw this video pop up in my recommendations. As an older adult myself now, I eat a low carb diet and supplement with magnesium which eliminates the PVCs. I guess the point of my comment is that I heard about this decades ago, but never again until this video.

  • @marion-bs3qh

I had all sorts of heart palpitations for some years, plus a runaway heart on two occasions (thought I was dying, ended up in Emergency twice). I wouldn't say the cause was one single thing - not acid reflux, but rather stress and a chronic sort of RSI-type sternum injury were both involved IMO - and I think the Vagus nerve may have been involved too - but I remembering one day suffering with a fluttery, irritated heart for hours, then after my evening meal I ate a cold yoghurt from the fridge and the fluttering stopped within seconds! I think it soothed that oesophagus/vagus nerve area. I also used to get an intrusive, 'bounding' heartbeat, I could hear it swooshing in my ears and feel it making itself known, but it always got worse just after eating a meal. My eventual solution - it took a long time to sort out but I retired to get away from stress (people, living out of a suitcase, travel), was put on betablockers (at my request - no one offered) and stopped picking up heavy bags (I worked away from home and had luggage) as that repeatedly injured my sternum (sore sternum and upper back). I had more symptoms than this, e.g. breathing, but I have condensed the story! Everything in that area is connected!

. I have %99 of hiatus hernia symptoms. All the time i use to say i do have it because all kind of diagnosis i did with cardiologist, neurologist and ER. Also, CT scan and MRI nothing show any cause of my symptoms.!one day i had Double contrast barium swallow performed with Xray and a small sliding hiatus hernia noticed. My surgeon performed endoscopy twice to check it and they didn’t notice it. In a couple of days i will have a diagnostic laparoscopy if they notice it they will fix it. 😢😢 suffered a lot. I have one more symptom started with all other symptoms which is numbness in arms and legs only when it’s cold weather and i have the other symptoms. I use to live a normal life one day everything changed very low blood pressure, burping, anxiety, depression , heart palpation , numbness , feeling cold from wind or AC and in winter worse numbness, constipation constipation . Also, all my blood test are good. 6 month not able to work anymore. I went to ER more than 10 times in 7 months then i decided not go anymore. I woke up twice desperate for air. It’s a night mare

    Good day,
Firstly, I would like to thank you for your work as well as the video materials and articles published online.
Unfortunately, I live in Poland and it won't be easy for me to visit you, but I am slowly considering this option if you are unable to help me remotely.
My problem concerns a hiatal hernia. I experience most of the symptoms that you are dealing with. My struggle has been ongoing for over a year, and at first, I went to hospitals and cardiologists, then to gastroenterologists who, of course, prescribed PPIs that didn't help or only helped briefly (I am aware of the side effects and do not want to use these medications).
At this moment, taking them has really stopped helping, and the attacks occur randomly.
I am an athlete and a boxer, but due to the hernia, I cannot train (during exertion, I usually experience shortness of breath and a bloated stomach, and the same occurs while driving a car).
My main symptoms are shortness of breath, a bloated stomach, and sometimes, tachycardia or extra heartbeats.
One episode was particularly notable, where I first experienced bradycardia which then transitioned to tachycardia while at rest.
I have a pulse oximeter that shows these values.
I have a question, do you have an offer for foreign clients? Is there any chance to get rid of these ailments?
    Kind regards,
    Bartek from Poland

Can the heart palpitations be caused further down the GI? I usually get heart palpitations when I feel digestive disturbances much further down than the stomach, somewhere in the intestines or rectum. It started years ago after I was consuming large amounts of protein powder. I went to A&E on a day it was really bad, it was diagnosed as non-sustained ventricular tachychardia. It has since improved, but only insofar as it is no longer ventricular tachychardia. I still get lots of premature ventricular contractions later in the day. I've started skipping breakfast which allows me to comfortably do any outdoor activities in the morning (most of the time), like shopping, exercising, etc, before lunch. After that, physical activities must finish. As you can imagine, this is very restrictive on my life... Hate it, especially since I'm only 33, so still relatively young, when I should be very active. I don't want to get it further looked at, as i'm about to move to canada and as part of the permanent residence exam, they look at medical history and I am worried it will me me fail the medical exam, so i'm looking for help online.

When I get them bad, I usually feel bloated and often feel a slight discomfort in my lower intestines like things are backing up and causing an issue. Sorry for the random reply but hope you can find some peace on this journey. I’m here after trying to go asleep, and having a bad episode 😊
