You have to appreciate the two completely different boxing styles, Red (Mexican) and Blue (American) shown in this video. 1. Blue short's is always on the move, never getting cornered, and using good angles, pullbacks, and positioning. 2. Red short's constant pressure and inside fighting pushing the pace and compelling trying to corner blue shorts. Great content would love to break down this video in pure detail. Love from Australia
100% analysis! Was thinking the exact same. I feel I’m more of the aggressive always inside fighter… my adhd doesn’t let me fight at a distance being patient 😂
You're wrong, red shorts was the one relentlessly creating angels by pushing him back, blue shorts was trying to set him up into a cross till he failed and couldn't trick him anymore and was moving really awkwardly the rest of the fight as he only was moving back not knowing how to enter inside anymore while trying to set red shorts ups
idk they both lack something for example the shirtless guy dosen’t move too much when he’s punching so it’s more likely for him to get hit back when you learn his patter and timing since he almost only goes for slow jabs to the face and some feints to the body. the other one instead is good but not enough, he don’t know yet how to control the movement of the fight, by that I mean he isn’t putting the shirtless guy against the ropes, because he ( the shirtless guy) is always taking space from him ( the white shirted guy )
I really enjoy watching Martinez's sparring. I myself is an in-fighter and from his sparring there is a lot of takeaway to learn from him. The way the change his angle and pivot when pressuring the opponent at the ropes.
That was a lovely display of styles at an Am level, especially given the freestyle boxer was southpaw. A good demo of the pros and cons of each style, at this level, in a short vid!. If you’re coming up, this is one to add to the playlist!
@@FastmoneymyloI’m really not he didn’t even hit you there I’ve watched it on slow mo if anything you hit him in the balls he just had gear on lmao you faked all that pain 😂
Pressure fighter was much stronger and slowed down the pace of the southpaw fighter more and more each round where by the final round he was on him the entire time.
Good job working boys ! Started my Journey not too long ago, Cant wait to see what happens if we keep going , 8 months strong daily, 2 a days on weekends !
@@hnsfilesandpranks5910 I think you may be confusing skill with "hitting as hard as you can". One of the guys is sparring the other is fighting. Blue lands clean headshots and counters on red all the time, but he pulls his punches and controls his power much better.
To be a really good pressure fighter you have to have the best close and mid distance. You almost don’t need a jab at that point. Chavez, and Tysons foot work are some of the greatest of that pressure style. Plus be able to go the distance. If you’re able to do a long haul, you need the chin and the gas tank for that. I think those are also some of the components that makes someone like pitbull cruz be criticized about having only basic combinations and is an “easy” style.
Strong disagree on not needing a jab. No point taking unnecessary punishment, plus you have to work in against good fighter. Blue just allowed red to get to his gameplan late in the 2nd. Both chavez and tysons jabs were great.
That is good coaching form the southpaw's corner. Telling him to keep angling/circling to the right. I trained with Bruce Lee students so right lead forward. In Kickboxing and at the boxing Gym I did the same.
Blue short should rely on his jab more and mix up his attacks qbile changing levels and re shorts should work more on head movent bro took so manu shot that could have easily been avoided if he move off center line great spare tho 👏👏
I have personally seen Frank spar Pollo (Javier Guerrero on this channel) and I must interject to say it’s on another level lol. Dude literally cannot be hit and his pivots are insane.
@@darthvader8982 Yep and on the flipside I've seen some Amateurs that are far better than pros. It's tough to make the distinction alone. Like, I would put Zae Farr against some pros at 139 right now and I genuinely believe he would come out on top
@@OfficialParallel8 of course. Some pros currently are padded up with cans. Zae will soon be a top contender of 140’s when he goes pros. He already has the elusiveness. And that spar he had with the Hispanic guy in Gold winning gear was good work!
Good stuff from both, but man it really seems like jabbing to close the distance/disrupt rhythm from pressure fighters is a lost art today. Todays inside fighters just seem content to barrell in behind a high guard instead of creating opportunities and/or setting up an offense behind an educated jab.
The man in the red got amazing power and the other one got awesome foot work and a fast jab. Both are great boxers but if we go through the score card the blue won this match up.
As a orthodox boxer, hate southpaw opponent.1/10 of opportunity people is. They counter us who use right hand with habit naturally, only weakness of them just liver side stay front in human biology.
Pressure boxing is a dumb strat, you'll win initially until your brain turns to mince, walking into punches like that will take its toll. the Southpaw was fitness limited not skill.
Exactly this, I would rather look like a bitch and wear pink hair extensions while I fight then get my brain squeezed every time I’m struck in the head
No, it's not. Actually he is losing less braincells from his opponent and probably less if he has boxing on the outside with a taller sniper style opponent. His guard is always up, and he has constant head movement. His reaches close-range with minimal damage taken. Really good tactics and skill

the pivots and angles were crazy work
Martinez has such a great guard game, thing of beauty to watch real time
The boxer in the white is very patient and has good ring generalship seeing how he waited and adjusted completely after the first round
I fought Martinez, he puts pressure from round 1 to round 3 😂😂 it was a fun fight

Love watching these sparring videos. It's especially nice to see two very high quality but contrasting styles clash.
Appreciate that!
I had to pause the video real quick just to comment on how amazing the camera quality is. Good stuff!

GOOD FREAKING SPAR. Lots of skill and restraint.

great boxers here, i always love watching these dogs spar, especially Carlos.
Nice seeing guys who know how to spar without trying to murder each other.

Good work from both. I rarely saw someone deal with this much pressure that good 👍👌
Good sparring💪
Always enjoy watching sparring
red needs a jab and instead of blue shorts only circling he should add smother and clinch tactics to kill the forward momentum
Blue shorts doesn't know how to get inside he just kept moving back and circling around awkwardly after failing to set red shorts up in first round
Blue is more skilled, red compensates by sparring harder. Ego. Props to the blue guy, I like his style.

Blue shorts is a good fighter. His not no killer though. White T is obviously a Mexican hahaha
i'm strongly against hard sparring, easy way to get brain damage, i would only go hard if i competed to minimize the damage that i take just in case
Black gloves is kinda too slow 😭
can you use a wider angle of view, Boxing is like 60% footwork, especially in a southpaw versus orthodox fight. Cool video tho
Idk if these are pros/amateurs who actually compete, but sparring this hard on a regular basis is almost never a good idea, with a very few exceptions
