    👍Thanks, Carlos! I seem to always forget where to find the MFA reset for the Security Defaults scenario. Microsoft appears to like renaming things (Azure AD to Entra) and moving things around.       I haven't tested, but if the guess user is registered within MS Azure (Identity) in your MS 365 tenant, then it should work as well. Thank you!

I recently started my new buisness I had my buisness domain on my cell phone (no back ups) Phone malfunctioned Apple sent me another phone, however now I can’t get into my account because even though I know my email address and password it is connected to a authenticater …. I have been dealing with this for a week now. Everything with Microsoft I am convinced is designed to be a loop, I can’t get into account with out Authenticator access, I can’t chat with support with out signing in, and the only phone line that you can get a live person on with Microsoft is there marketing department (so they can sale you more things) other than that it’s all A.I. that hangs up on you …. Is there anything you can suggest for assistance?

    glad to know there's a way, I really hope they don't get mad at me at work for needing this done. my phone stopped working completely and I don't know remember my password so I'm locked out from both ends.

      Your MS 365 administrator is able to reset your password and/or your MFA with no issues. This could happen to anyone. Thanks

      I lost my phone and it's an iPhone attached to my work account and I have no idea how to get this burner phone an Android to do anything that I needed to do until I can put a claim in for the iPhone tomorrow I don't even think I should do a thing but I need to communicate with them

    Thank you for this video, it is very helpful but I cannot reset it because I cannot find the admin settings on my account as it is a school account. Do you know how to fix school accounts?

      The School subscription should have an Admin user. You need to contact the IT support for the school and they should have access to the admin center. Then, ask them to reset MFA for your specific account. The Admin role is assigned to a specific user. A regular user should not have access to this admin panel. Thank you.

      If the user needs to configure the authenticator app on his phone again for any reason, for example if the user has a new phone or maybe removed the app for example. Thanks

    Hi, I was using my previous Organization credentials for Microsoft Authentication and now I have left the organisation. I was able to use authenticator without issue on my previous device but today i bought a new device and now I cannot access the codes to login. Please help!

      To use the new device you will need to restore the authenticator backup from your previous device. You should have created the backup first. ruclips.net/video/634307aScXY/видео.html

      If the phone is not available, you will need to create/have an alternate admin user that can reset the MFA settings for the user that lost his/her phone. You can also add an alternate phone (for recovery) so you can use it in case your lose the main phone. It needs to be done before your lose access to your phone. If it is not the case and you don't other admin user, then you will need to contact MS support and go through a verification process.

    In my case, when I am trying to sign in it's asking me to enter the displaying number in my mobile authenticator app. However since I lost my previous mobile, in the new mobile I cannot sign in to the authenticator app. Because from mobile app also asking me to enter the displaying number. I stucked form both the ends. I can't sign in to my Microsoft account from any where. How fix this issue?

      if you didn't created the authenticator backup, you will need to ask the MFA reset in the Admin panel. If you are the only admin, then you may need to contact MS support. thank you.

      in order to approve from your phone, you need to configure the authenticator app by following the steps when logging in your computer and prompted to configure the authenticator. Hope it make sense! Thank you.

    Hi Sir mine has log in issues whenever i try to login to my school account it will ask for approval from Microsoft Authenticator app or code displayed on Microsoft Authenticator app the while i'm logged in on the app.
    when I click 'sign in another way' they just give me two options
    1st option says "Approve a request on my Microsoft Authenticator app"
    and the 2nd option says "Use verification code"
    i don't know how my issue be resolved

      Did you ever configure the Authenticator App on your phone. If you did, it is expected that your account expect the approval from your phone when logging in. By default the two options are the approval from your phone (authenticator) or use the verification code that is generated every 30 seconds on your authenticator app. If your phone is not configured but it is still waiting for your approval, then you may need to ask the administrator to follow the steps from this video.       In this case, you will need to contact the admin of your MS 365. The admin will be able to follow the steps that are indicated in this video. Once, the MFA is reset, you will be able ton configure your new phone again. Thank you!

    When I try to log in Microsoft outlook, it directs me to Microsoft Authenticator app where i have to approve sign in request in Microsoft outlook.
    Im confused,how can I deal with this?

      Outlook should only ask you to approve the login the first time when you are configuring your account. If you don't have your phone where the authorization has to be approved and you are the only administrator, then you may need to contact MS support. Thank you.

    I reset my phone and erased the data completely. I did not have backup enabled. Now all accounts are gone from my authenticator app and when I try to access those accounts, it is asking for authentication code. How do I get my old accounts back in this case? Plz help.

      Your MS 365 administrator can reset your MFA Setup. If you are the administrator and you don't have a separate admin account, then you will need to contact MS 365 support and go through a verification process, then they will be able to reset it for you. Thank you.

    I had online mackup of all the apps in authenticator. i hard reset my phone and i tried to restore and unable it shows no backup i am unable to login Twitter

      I am not familiar with other providers and the MFA. If it were the case of a MS 365 Business subscription I would suggest to contact MS support. The only suggestion that comes to my mind in this case is also to contact Twitter support, thank you.

    All my devices keep saying Approve request from authenticator app, including my phone. So I can’t even approve. I’m struggling to sign in the my account. What can i do?

      If you have the authenticator app configured on your phone, open it, select the account and try to show and use the One-time password code. At the same time, you have to select the option (when logging in in your browser) "I can't use my Microsoft authenticator app right now"

      What you described looked like the authenticator app was configured. If the Authenticator has never been configured, when logging in will prompt to configure it. I mean, if you are asked to approve, it is because someone configured it on a phone. If you are the only administrator, then you will need to contact MS support and request the MFA reset for your account.

    when my computer is supposed to send verification request to my authenticator app, nothing how's up... I can't access anything and I rely on it for my job. I'm so stressed about this

      Hi Helen, you could try using the verification code (One-time password code) that appears on your app when you select the account. You can also try the text code that is send to your phone when you select the option "Can't used the authenticator". Hope it helps. Thank you.

    What happened if microsoft authenticator removed your password, I reset my phone to factory setting without cloud backup, and now I can't access to 3 of my email accounts under microsoft authenticator with 2 factor authentication

      Hi, if you created the authenticator backup (with a MS personal account), you could recover it to your new device (within the authenticator app), if not, then you may need to contact MS 365 support. Hope it helps. Thank you.

    1:17 I don't have access to my phone what should I do...

      If you have access to your phone and the authenticator apps is installed and configured, then you can try to access by using the One-time password code. It will be displayed when you tab on your account that is configured in the app. You will need to respond by clicking on "I can't use my authenticator app". Hope it helps

      1. Approve sign on the authenticator app
      2. Send a code to the authenticator app
      There's no option to send a code to the registered email or mobile number.

      Sachez que le centre d'administration est destiné à MS 365 Business et que l'utilisateur doit avoir le rôle d'administrateur. La plupart des utilisateurs n'y ont pas accès.

      If you are the only administrator in MS 365 and none of the alternate authentication methods work, then you you have to contact MS support. If you have another admin, then you can follow the steps from this video. Thanks.

    What to do if i didn't back up my Microsoft authenticator app in my old mobile and it asking authentication in authentication app to login in new mobile
    Don't know what to do

      When use different ways it is showing code send to outlook mobile app
      Then if I try to login to outlook mobile app then also it asking authentication from Microsoft authentication app
      And also I don't have Microsoft 365 app
      If I try to install and login again it asking authentication😢😢

      If you have MS 365 Business and you are the only administrator, then you will need to contact MS support. If there is another administrator, then he/she will need to access the admin center and reset MFA for your account. After resetting MFA you will be able to configure your phone again.       You are facing two issues. 1 Password recovery and 2 MFA challenge. If you are an admin in MS 365, you can try to reset your own password. It might require MFA, if it does, then you will need to contact MS support.
      If there is another admin in your MS 365 tenant, then you can apply what is described in the video. Hope it helps somehow. thanks

      Hi Muhammad, there are two possible options why you can't access the admin panel, 1. Your MS 365 account is not a Business subscription or 2. Your username hasn't been assigned the admin role. Thank you for your comment.

      I guess you are referring to MFA, correct? You need to disable "Security Defaults" within your MS 365 admin center. It is located within the Identity (Active directory) admin center. You need to search for "Tenant Properties"
